I had mine for 5 days. Its the best phone I’ve ever used. Worthy upgrade from my iPhone 6S. It has a headphone jack. Has front stereo speakers. No screen issues. No lags!!!

Lots of reviewers keep comparing this to the OnePlus 5T for its price, but they just don't get that some people just don't want 5.5 inch phones. It's the only real android counterpart to the iPhone 8 in terms of size.

I bought this phone just about as soon as I heard of it. Really, it's just about as perfect, for me, as I can expect any phone these days to be. It's not actually small, rather it doesn't follow the trend that every phone should, for some odd reason, be larger than you can possible fit in your pocket. And it doesn't have a completely unnecessary 1080p or [face palm] 4k display, and that's good, because 720p is more than enough. Indeed I could've done with less. In comparison I'm currently staring at a 15" 1080p monitor at perhaps double the distance that I'd use my phone. Sure I'd prefer 1440p, so let's go with that. Now divide that with 2 (half the distance) an voila 720p, but wait, there's more. We also have to consider the size, and again we divide by so we get some 7.5", more or less and that's at least 50% large diagonally that the phone, so we divide by 3 and multiply by 2 and get 480p. Add to that my original example of my 1080p display is really quite adequate and you can easily argue that 360p is enough. But enough ranting, the point being that high resolution of tiny display is just plain stupid and if you can avoid it the added benefit is better battery life. As for the bezels... Really, more often than not they are a benefit rather than an annoyance. The only thing I could really do without on the front is the top and bottom ones. I really don't need to be able to use my phone as a boom box, and a smaller top and bottom bezels would also make it easier and more comfortable to reach the entire screen with one hand. As for any other complaints... well, I can't wait to get rid of android. I've been using sailfish OS for 4 years now and it's great, but that'll have to wait for now. I don't like the solution for the sim/sd cards. It is actually rather solid, but it looks like crap. Luckily I've got a cover to cover it... Lastly the battery life is not all that I hoped for. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's great compared to the average android phone, with God knows what running in the background, but considering the specs and my somewhat limited usage, it really isn't good enough. Again, I'm sure that'll change once I change OS. Other than that I can't really fault it.

i will wait for the price to drop and buy... still having Z1c. Good job sony, dont listen to haters. Chunky maybe but big battery and bezels are comfy and practical. Material is great coz there are no fingerprints on it. Its all just PRACTICAL, thats what i need.

Wait, have you just thrown off 3D Creator and Sketch as useless bloatware? What are you onto man? First off 3D Creator is LOADS of fun, scanning 3D faces of your friends and integrate them in all sort of ways, you can scan objects and 3D print them too, really this has no answer from the competition and is a feature only on Sony phones. Sketch app is one of the most diverse sketching/drawing/creating apps, you can do lots of stuff like editing already existing pics of just start from scratch, create stickers, add preset ones, etc. Suprised you didn't mentioned as useless bloatware Sony's media apps, which compared to what Samsung/LG and other compare, are way better in both features and implementation. Keep it up dude, but seriously, take time to PROPERLY explore the phone's software before a "review".

Sony used to be renowned for their cameras in smartphones. That and the bezels put me off slightly, but for people who prefer the smaller display then its probably a great choice.

Still rocking the Z3 Compact, the miss step i think they made is same with the Z5 Compact, they dropped the magnetic chargepoints of the Z3 Z3c rendering the docks worthless still interested to see how this pans out but this is the 2nd sony driod phone and yet again sony are poor with the software releases for them.

3 years later and I just snagged it for a measly $50 as a 2nd phone. And I gotta say, the things a legend for its size. They don't make it like these anymore. Also, great job on the video.

The Tech Chap XZ1 doesnt wow 4 some reason. Pound 4 pound, Pixel excels at all d drawbacks of dis phone dat u covered in d vid.. d way phones are priced, $150 isn't as much a stretch 4 all dose extras I believe. I do agree, d size is a wee-bit bigger, but one-handed still. (Thank God!) Love ur style on dese tho.. Solid content as always man! Have a great day 🍻

Either the xz1 c or the iphone se for my next phone. It'll probably be the xz1 compact once it gets a bit cheaper. I honestly like the design of sony and imo plastic > any other materials since I like to use my phones with no case.

The camera on Sony phones are better when using manual control and then the results are impressive. I always avoid using the superior auto mode.

I used to have the z3 compact and it was good but the problem with the compact is that it is the best small phone cuz there is no competition, it is good but it's not as good as the big boys. It always has some flaws but you overlook em just because of it's unique size.

I used to have a Sony and it was nice, that’s when 1gb ram was still ok. They seem to have practically stayed still while everyone else has roared light years ahead. A shame because they are a great quality company, I just don’t know what their mobile division is doing. Same with cameras, they provide camera sensors etc to so many big brands yet cannot seem to utilise their own creations.

There are only 2 things that have stopped me buying every compact sony has released, its ordinary camera and its far to quiet speakers.....Its strange sony lack the foresight to have moved their designs into line with the stiff competition they are up against as there is a large hole in the market for a smaller phone. Some of us think that browsing the web is a sh!t experience on a phone no matter how big the screen is and for everything else a smaller phone is more practical.

Tom, you're doing yourself no favours spouting rubbish like: Plastic is cheap. Bezels are bad. It feels chunky (it's only chunky compared to other high end phones; it's still quite thin). The design is poor (with no actual reasons as to how). Still, not too bad a video.
