Mandarake is a blast! It actually feels a lot like my own apartment; jammed with tons of stuff. I felt quite at home!

I love how you explain what it feels like to be a toy collector. People just don't understand what it feels like finding something you've only ever seen online in real life, fam.

Hey theo have you seen if there is any books on the production of the sofubi toys ? I would love to learn about how to make my own vinyl toys.

I am sure there will be but I haven't looked into it, the group Vinyl Kaiju Legion on FB might be a good place to ask people though 👊

3:13 - The Japanese shops not wanting to be filmed is really no different than businesses in America: they don't want their competitors to have visual references or give bureaucrats petty excuses to come in and demand changes especially when they're no changes to be needed. Secondary, most businesses want customers to come in and look around but existing footage of said stores may urge consumers to abandon their 'consumer curiosity' like telling someone the end of a book and. thus, negating their desire to read (or buy) the rest of it.

Some things about Western culture especially America when I live, it’s so boring and dull and everything is the same everywhere you go. That comment you made about how people back home judge people for loving toys vs how it is in Japan. EXACTLY. So very different and everything is so much more beautiful and fulfilling.
