Your design is the first actual tutorial I was able to follow so thank you! I've made a few modifications of my own. A perimetral wall, a rooftop with a windmill and lots of turrets. Had to sacrifice loot space for battery.

pro tip: if you dont have a furnace for the jump up to the second floor, you can just use a secret lab chair until you get the furnace

I’m actually loving the design with the low wall accessible workbench and furnaces. Only shit thing is, it’s still like a 8 rocket raid, if you don’t get to build up/external phase.

I just started playing and trying to learn since the learning the curve is pretty deep. What is the reason?

never need to because they will blow through the door first. you just need metal frame for armored doors. stone frame for garage and sheet metal doors.

I haven't played in like a years time But..... Back when I was playing we would go ahead and armor a few essential door frames to help combat splash from rockets and especially explosive ammo. Idk if any of these mechanics have changed since I last played though.

@@nastystang113armored door frames are both a waste of materials and upkeep cost, as regardless of the frame, raiders will blow through doors anyway and the frame doesn’t matter since it doesn’t assist in damage resistance. Metal frames are the way to go as metal is easy to come by and has low upkeep, and also can hide loot rooms better because some raiders can see the stone frames from outside the base and know where to blow in from. HQM should only be used for core as a necessity, and upgrade from there depending on the size of your base.

PS, you can access boxes if they are showing thru a door. Atleast on console rust. I didn’t even need to blow a garage door to get the boxes that were going thru the door to get the loot from inside them.
