I've been playing lots of bow wand and now looking at staff wand for solo. I will keep using bow wand for co-op dungeons only. I have a lot of exp with wand so I can comment a bit on the skill choice: I find the presented setup includes way too many survivability skills, in my opinion which aren't really needed and might occupy too many skills slots. You can take some off some of them like Blessed Barrier and Clay's Salvation and replace them with Corrupted Magic Circle (but with the spec to make it single target - Decaying Touch) + Karmic Haze to spread the curse on everything. I also prefer to explode with Curse Explosion because as you mentioned, the point is to block some fury attacks. If you use the wand block, the curse cooldowns are reduced by up to 3s per block which is so good - and it also applies to all Curse skills at once so Touch of Despair + Decaying Touch + Karmic Haze.

I was thinking about this kind of build yesterday! But, I ended up doing the flip side of it with burst damage of Curse Explosion. Rotation of Touch of Despair > Group Mobs > Touch of Despair> Time for Punishment > Touch of Despair > Chain Lighting > Decaying Touch > Karmic Haze > Curse Explosion > Chain Lightning > Fire Bombs I have to try this out! I like this but would use fire bombs early, you get bonus dmg from chain lighting for every burning stack on the targets. Then also when you use curse explosion it will also do all the dmg from your burning stacks that are on the mobs unless you use dark explosion, which i honestly do not recommend for farming also changing time for punishment into enchanting time so its a self buff not a debuff makes for more consistent dmg on all targets. But I really like the part for using decaying touch with karmic haze to spread it. My question is why not just use Cruse Circle, instead of Decaying Touch?

On my AOE build I focus mostly on wisdom and dex for max damage and cooldown speed. I main staff, you get mana back from blocking with staff, wand to pull.

Using Cures Circle Followed with a Cures Explosion can do massive dmg especially if you dont use dark explosion good for finishing big groups when they get to about 30% hp

always aim right amount of stats, you can check the stats and what bonuses it gives fot every stop.. for example dex 40 gives you additional stat.. but for this class, i suggest more on wisdom then dex then little str for survivability.

Hey man! I am trying to figure out a build that match with my gameplay. I'm playing as off-healer in my guild, and I do well my job as buffer/healer, but my feeling is that I have a lot of idle time that I try to compensate as damage dealer, and idk why nobody focus on it, the damage is insane! So... Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I could achieve a T1 build that can relatively tank and do a lot of damage, could you please analyze and help me to improve, or just show me that I'm wrong? Hi Andrey, thanks for your content. Want to ask what do you think on replacing Fireball Barrage and Clay with Sleep and haze? Basically Despair 2 stacks - ToP - sleep - haze - last Despair - explode, will it be better as combo? I'm new with staff-wand, and as I see for AoE it will be better, then just use 1-target skill like Barrage. Also, why you leave clay? Just as another option to heal - or for party grind? Yes, I have fully-traited blue gear except for my accessories which are missing some traits (still blue though), and my weapons/cape which are purple. I run a similar build to this at GS 2800 and can solo 5-6 monsters no problem. Although if there's too many ranged monsters you will have to be more careful. If I run the heal specs he's running I could probably fight bigger packs.

Wand and staff is fun but it’s not for tier 2 or endgame pvp. It’s better to be a master of healing or a master of dps. go staff bow for dps and wand bow for heals. Most guilds will not allow you to join if you are staff wand. My guild is #1 in Karnix and we only have 3 staff wands. We don’t need them for anything. We call them Alt healers.

i dont get why your gimping your shield using the AoE spec, when your solo. each ability page changes your specilizations. you want to have a solo page, a group page, and then group pvp build. with this build, you want to get your blue set, and stack focus on wisdom and cooldown reduction. the 3 things that will boost your damage is weapon (staff has highest dmg in the build), skill cooldown reduction, and skill damage boost. in this order. with staff and wand, you get access to 2 abilities to boost your damage, high focus and the sword spirit. specilization in these will give you 45 max damage, and a rank dependant scale of like 70+ max damage. if you get a lvl 9 staff and use these skills, you can easily see a 14k or even 15k hit... and you dont need purple gear. in fully maxed blues, your at 2750 gs (does not really matter since gs only measures how upgraded your gear is, not how powerful you are). the dark ritual staff is a great staff to get. if your wanting to increase damage, you wanna focus on weapon, base stats, skill damage boost, and cooldown reduction. for healing, raw mana pool will boost that aswell as the above stats. hp for pvp. as for mana regen, you can stack it on your gear, but anymore then 1500 is overkill for this build. if you find yourself at 2k mana regen, you can drop the mana regen skill for the fire smokescreen, since the mobility and extra refresh on fire dots are nice.

There is a spec for Curse Explosion that makes it so your DoTs stay on the targets, but Curse Explosion ends up doing less damage. I've tested it out. For AoE situations, it it well worth taking over Fireball Barrage, but you lose out on heavy potential single-target damage. It's a matter of preference. It's hard to run numbers, but from what I've estimated in my testing, when Fireball Barrage is hitting a single target for 20k damage total (assuming 10 burning stacks), Curse Explosion will hit ALL targets for about 5k damage at 3 stacks of Touch of Despair (assuming both Curse Explosion specs). It's also worth noting that Curse Explosion has a lower cooldown than Fireball Barrage. Basically, if you're doing a lot of AoE farming, Curse Explosion will definitely be better at clearing out packs, but I still run Fireball Barrage because sometimes I'll just need to deal with 1 monster. Lastly, if you're running with a party and you're not the one tanking/grouping up the monsters, you WILL need the AoE Touch of Despair spec, or else you won't be able to apply Touch of Despair on all the monsters, and your Curse Explosion will do poopy damage. This is another reason why I run Fireball Barrage.

@@eldarion933 Well, the "essay" was more for people interested in knowing if it's worth it to take Curse Explosion, and explaining why. As for dropping a healing spell, I only run 1 heal (and Fountain of Life). There really isn't anything else I'd drop. It really is a toss up between running Fireball Barrage or Curse Explosion, because it doesn't make a lot of sense to run a single-target spell when you're facing off against groups of enemies (although for my playstyle it's preferable).

This is not a “PVP” game! I hate when people classify a game that has PVP in it as “PVP” game! The Story quest, Co-Op Dungeons are PVE. Events, World Bosses are Split between PVE and PVP! Stop trying to label this is a straight up PvP game!

@@AndreyPLK what are you talking about? Co-op dungeons are the endgame, that’s why we farm them for the best in slot gear! Even open world Bosses are split between PVE and PVP. Fact is all content that leads up to end game is all PVE content. What gear does PVP drop that PVE doesn’t and it easier to gear up through PVE! Just because people get bored with PVE content and play PvP for the thrill doesn’t make it a PvP game. That’s like saying ESO is a PvP game just because Cyrodiil and Imperial city is in the game. Makes no sense!
