I really love these.i always look at these as thirds.thinking about the root first.going right down the scale.withthe major and minor shape.figured out a bunch of different ways to do this on different string sets.really cool

I keep meaning to make some videos on the connection of 6ths and 3rds. Because they're inversions of each other, they both work and are great ways to recycle/develop ideas.

When I try to learn songs, I always feel the need to sing them, which is by far my weak point. Do you sing, Jeff?

Yup, Jerry definitely uses lots of 6ths in his leads on Dire Wolf. The more familiar your ear gets to them, the more you'll start noticing them. Jerry used them a lot and especially in songs that lean towards blues/country/bluegrass etc...
