Super clever the feet hinge, I really liked the solution!! I am not using squares for rigging anymore, I use the same method you show but in round bar. A lot easier to machine and easier to find the hole than a square.

Thanks, good to know! :) ...Is the rotational rigidity with round bars good enough? I like the idea and preferred round connections on my own armatures in the past, but I had some issues with clamping them rigidly and also all my customers requested square attachments, so I adapted...

Thanks you, definitely an Option! - This one was commissioned, so it's up to someone else, but I have lots of "open joints" robot characters in my movie "An Unwound Clockwork" for exactly this reason. ;)

It's a wonderful mechanism! It's like the stem and wedge inside the headset/fork of a bike for adjusting the height and rotation of the handlebars. Does it need to be constructed with a square cross-section? If you could make it with circular tube, you could rig it on any angle and not need a mortiser for boring a square hole.
