I found the T9/x lacking in most uses and returned it. In my room and my system, it didn't do it for me. On some tracks it sounded good, some others where I knew there was some base notes, it just didn't deliver. It is a small box and only does 27HZ, and fit/finish/looks are great, but there's far better subs for that $ in my view. It may still be a good choice for those with limited space, small rooms, etc, was not the fight fit for me. My beloved Velodyne HGS 12 is out for repair so decided to try some new subs. So far, Velodyne still my favorite, and to be fair, was 2k 20 years ago and still one of best subs out there. They have something of a cult following. I am trying a Rythmik FM8 now and like it much more than the Rel, and it's less $ to boot.

I've always known rel are good but until my brother bought the t7x I didn't know how good they are. Once run after month or so I was blown away even more by the quality. I've just ordered the 1205 hopefully can get close to the t7x

Thinking of dual Rel T5X or T7X to pair with my Maggie 1.7i and Anthem STR integrated. Also looking at Rythmik F12 or RSL Speedwoofer 10S mk2. I need the fasted sub possible that will disappear and integrate seamlessly with the maggies. Since the Anthem STR has ARC dsp room correction I will be using the sub output and not speaker line level inputs. The DSP requires the sub outputs so not sure which route to go.

Would the 7 series pair well with KEF 301's and a Denon S760H avr? Home theater first, vinyl record listening second.

Great video and very informative, however as a novice I don't quite understand all the technical jargon when it comes to the conversation on high level vs low level and LFE etc. I currently have Klipsch 8000F front pair with a RP504C II center and 2 RP502S rear for surround back but I am missing a sub. These are all powered by a Marantz SR7013. I have been looking at the market what a great sub would complement the setup for both Home Theatre movies but also listening to music. I've had my eyes on the SVS PB 2000 pro for a while but still haven't decided yet. Whenever I start looking at subs I get overwhelmed with the technical jargon. I want to get the best bang for buck sub that isn't going to break the bank but I also don't want to go cheap that will not complement the current speaker setup. What are your thoughts and suggestions? Thanks

Low level is standard sub connections. REL offers high level. That’s basically the speaker signal ( full range). The sub has low pass filter to perfectly match what your speaker is doing since it’s the same signal path and channel. Lfe or low level is only mono but mixes both together.

@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Yes, but then you've also got your AVR (Marantz Cinema 50 here), which has some setting for the bass management. Usually you can choose your cross-overs and direct your bass to the LFE, or LFE + Main (fronts). But doing so, you are not making your AVR a service, as your fronts usually don't go so deep down. Hence I wonder, what is an ideal setting for AVR owners?

Can’t play pipe organ music with these, as they don’t go nearly low enough.
