We have released several videos this season showing how to use 4-0-2 FloraGreene with plants, trees, shrubs, gardens, ornamental flowers... etc. However, 4-0-2 FloraGreene is an excellent fertilizer for spoon feeding your lawn during those hot summer months. In this video, Chuck from Dadding All Day shows his process for using 4-0-2 FloraGreene on the lawn.
Check out Chuck's channel here: / daddingallday
To purchase 4-0-2 FloraGreene 1 Gallon: shrsl.com/2fngl
To purchase 4-0-2 FloraGreene 2.5 Gallon: shrsl.com/2fngn
To purchase the Bio Stim Pack: shrsl.com/28swj
You can create your own custom N-ext Box of 4 - 1 Gallon products: shrsl.com/2fngr
4-0-2 FloraGreene™ Fertilizer is formulated to be a complete product for all varieties of landscape plants, ornamentals, tropicals, shrubs, and trees.
4-0-2 FloraGreene™ will absorb through leaf, stem, and cambium tissue and be distributed to the roots through the circulatory systems of plants, ornamentals, shrubs, and trees. While soil application is acceptable, it is formulated for foliar application.
Application rates of 4-0-2 are very low, these are suggested application rates based on use.
Lawns: Apply 9 oz per 1,000 square feet. For an added color pop, apply alongside the Bio Stim pack and 0-0-2 MicroGreen.
Healthy Trees: Apply at a rate of ½ ounce per caliper inch of the diameter at shoulder height. Dilute with water at a rate of 6 ounces per gallon. Spray the trunk of the tree up to a height of 6 feet or to the first fork. Apply two times per year in the spring and fall.
Sick or Diseased Trees: Apply at a rate of 1 ounce per caliper inch of diameter at should height. Dilute at a rate of 6 ounces per gallon of water. Spray the trunk of the tree up to the height of 6 feet or to the first fork. Apply every 30 days as needed.
Fruit Trees: Apply at ½ ounce per caliper inch of the diameter at shoulder height before fruit sets. Dilute at 6 ounces per gallon of water. Spray trunk to a height of 6 feet or to the first fork. No application after fruit sets.
Plants and Ornamentals: Apply at a rate of 6 ounces per 1,000 sq ft of bedding material. Dilute at a rate of 6 ounces per gallon of water; apply as a mist to foliage or as a soil drench at the base of the plant. Avoid direct contact with flower blooms to prevent staining.
Palms: Apply at a rate of 1 ounce per caliper inch of diameter at shoulder height. Dilute at a rate of 6 ounces per gallon of water. Apply as a soil drench at the base of the palm.
Potted Plants and Vegetables: Dilute at 1 ounce per gallon of water and apply weekly as a light soaking to the base of the plant. Avoid direct contact with flower blooms to prevent staining.
As you can see, application rates vary by tree size and scenario.

I guess they don’t like science? Plant fertilizer has tweaks that help plants more than grass but it’s mostly Tune for scaling to use in a garden.

Need to calibrate your sprayer. Ortho sprayers are suppose to be 2 gallons in two minutes. Mine is 6 gallons in two minutes! So I have dial down the settings or move fast! Both LCN and Lawnology have videos on calibrating the Ortho sprayers. They basically turn the dial to “off” on the spray head, then open up the water on. The spray head and spray into a one gallon bucket, timing it for one minute. That will tell you hw fast your sprayer is emptying out. You can practice by putting few drops of any of the biostims in your sprayer just enough to turn the water brown. Then you can practice using the sprayer on different settings to see what works best for you. A few drops to turn the water brown helps you see how much is spraying out, and does not waste product or over apply product to lawn.

Jason, for fertilizer you can fill the hose end sprayer with more water than the fert bottle instructions say. You can also use a lower setting number on sprayer so you'll have more time to spread the fert. Water is a "carrier" for the liquid fert. Ratio does not have to be for example 6 oz/1 gal. Weed killer, fungicide different story.

So, does total nitrogen per season come into play here? Are we looking to achieve 1-3 lbs N/ season or does achieving that become less important with spoon feeding?
@NExtDIYLawn
@NExtDIYLawn Жыл бұрын
With liquid fertilizer, the total N per season is different. While it's an aspect to be aware of, it's not as important. When you throw spoon feeding doesn't change the end goal, it just gets you out applying more often. That's really all it's about.

@vparmato
@vparmato 3 жыл бұрын
I've come to the conclusion that liquid nitrogen is way too expensive. It has some advantages such as control of location, rate, etc, but the higher value is the micro-nutrients that you don't get from your typical granular Nitrogen fix. Interpret this as you want, but using liquid micro-nutrients in addition to the normal high nitrogen rates that granular gives you is the best of both worlds!
