Great review! I recently bought the same watch, it’s my first turtle, my first PADI, and my first Seiko, but it definitely will not be my last. I love the beautiful blue dial that changes with the light, and that everything from the bezel, the chapter ring, the indexes and the hands all line up perfectly. Your best friends clubbing together to buy you the same watch that was stolen, shows what great friends you have, and clearly shows how much they think of you. It was a great idea buying watches based on your friends personalities, and I would have loved to have seen the watches and heard the reasons why each friend got the particular watch that you gave them. Maybe you could do a video about it?

I just got mine today and love it. I got mine for 50 percent off at Macy's, last one and an Internet Return. I'm currently looking at the Raymond Weil Maestro with a leather band with the heart at the top. I want a Tag Huer, a Rolex, Omega Diver and a Hamilton and I'm done. I have a couple of Citizen Eco's, Wittnauer and some Invicta watches, but you know what I may never be done, because I'm going to buy a G-shock GA110 for everyday wear and yes, I have other watches that I have not listed. A man must have hobbies.

Congrats on the wedding. I stumbled in this video after I just ordered my SRP E07. The classic approach on this watch is amazing and the details are stunning. Well long story short, I happened to be in a Military mall and they had one for a great price. I snagged the last one making it my third turtle in a month. The Save The Ocean mantaray turtle was the first purchase this month and I am very satisfied with the turtles I have. Thank you for the detailed review.

Had mine for 4 years now, worn daily, just be aware that the pins in the bracelet eventually come loose, and the bracelet will fall apart. This has happened to me multiple times. Even if all of the pins are fully secured in place. So I now wear it with a screw think bracelet.

At the end you referenced some other watches with higher spec at less price. Do you have recommendations? I was going to get this for a 5 year wedding anniversary. It was on sale for less than $300 new. Sale ended before I had a chance to buy it. Love the look but not sure $400+/- is what I’m willing to spend. Great review!

Long Island Watch’s brand has some turtle-style models with sapphire glass and upgraded bezel inserts in the $300 range. Also on AliExpress there are some homage models that are way cheaper from San Martin and some others. I just don’t think anything over $400 should have mineral glass

I funnily enough was exchanging an engagement ring 💍… don’t ask but treated myself to one ☝️ had a steeldive.. said feck it if I ever had a few bucks I would treat myself to a seiko turtle 🐢.. delighted with it .. steeldive dive is a good beater watch , but when you got them side by side total different animals… have mine on nato perfection… 👍

Beautiful watch. Does the bracelet that came with this watch have solid end links? But I have to comment: Cutting off the double pass piece of the NATO strap top make it a single pass strap is a crime.

I live in Ireland, just funny to note when you were in Cape cod, all the turtle divers you spotted, a funny thing happened, my job here took me one day to a whiskey factory in County louth, and the guy I was delivering to kept staring at my wrist , it was only after I left I realised I had my black dial turtle srp777k1, on my wrist , the question remains, should we or should we not say something, ,I will the next time it happens, in Ireland we like to talk alot, we are a smallish island, so we will chat to someone quite easily we have never met before, anyway enjoy your videos keep up the good uploads, by the way how old is your local jewellery /watch store, my cousin owns one he is 5 generation, 1785 it opened, , he has omega pocket watches with his stores name on that omega printed on for them , would omega do that now ??? @@stevet4615 After searching again, I found the SRPE99K1 with the 3 Lumibrite index. There is also the SRPE99K1 that does not have the 3 Lumibrite index. Both have the ISO Diver’s certification. As of 2021, ISO certification does require lume at 3 o’clock even with a calendar window, but Diver’s watches that were built and ISO certified before the change in 2021 do not require lume at 3 o‘clock even with a calendar window. Also any watch can only use the word “Diver’s” on the dial, if it has passed the ISO Diver’s certification, but a watch manufacturer does not have to use the word “Diver’s” on the dial if they don’t want to. All the Seiko PADI Diver’s watches built before the 2021 ISO certification change are ISO Diver’s certified. It is easy to find out what year and what month any Seiko (including PADI Diver’s) watches were built. We are all correct. Hopefully this has cleared up any confusion.

Just the years they were released. The SRPE99 replaced the SRPA21 but really the only difference is the 21 says "air diver" on the caseback

Just bought mine a few weeks ago and I have found a small difference. On the 3 o’clock just right I’d the date has a small reflector. So in the dark it lights up on the 3 o’clock.
