I'm probably gonna be purchasing some Stotz after seeing this video, I sometimes find myself on the job at constructions sites and these seem perfect for that everyday rugged use. Definitely would get some very good wear out of them. (and hiking as well)

Just a correction, stotz is rated 5/5 when it comes to water resistance. And from personal experience, it ages very nicely compared to the others.

Can't really comment on any of the fabrics yet, I'm receiving my Merino Lined Ameztu's in Dryskin tomorrow and I'm really excited to see if they will fit me and if the quality and fabric is as good as people say. From the specs I think Dryskin is the best fabric for pants, i have this feeling that Stotz is better for jackets but idk.

Really like the Stotz, especially in that Earth colour. My 2nd choice would be the twill pants. As for the Dryskin cargos, are the big zip pulls on pockets replaceable? I ask they look a bit like tassels (!) and are a bit too cosplay-like for me

got myself a twill cargo pants at around early january, they're really comfy but i got some small problems with it being ripped at the crotch part and the part near the zip on the ankle after a couple days of usage which is weird. got it fixed pretty easily tho. i'd probably opt for the stotz material if i had the option to.

As a Coloradoan, this style fits the weather and dynamic of the state. With that said, do you think Mountain Hardwear, body glove, and even some Patagonia could fit into the "techwear" category as long as its black, tapered, and pockets?

I know there wasn't an opportunity to really test them, but any comment on durability relative to denim? I'm trying to move away from denim all the time, but it's considered the bare minimum if you get into a motorcycle accident. It sounds like etaproof can at least do the same job?

Can someone tell me if dryskin starts to leave marks around the creased areas after moderate use. I found that stotz seems to mark quite easily and I think I would prefer dryskin if the colour integrity is preserved for longer.

I wonder about the warmth. I never see brands specifying recommended use of their items, weather. I have heard that stotz is too light for when it's cooler and dryskin is nylon so I imagine is pretty light too. But then again I see you guys not wearing anything underneath (besides briefs lol), so I guess I must be wrong? Just trying to find the adequate fabric for my next jacket

I couldn't agree more with you on your Dryskin opinion. This fabric is definetly perfect for the "one" cargo-pants and is performing great overall. But I've got a question about the phone pockets: Are they capable of holding your phone while doing sick ninja-esque flying kicks? Please elaborate, since this might influence my purchase decision. :D

Dryskin, is amazing. The one thing I don't like about my Enfin Leve pants though is that the waist is so thin. They need to add more structure there.

how do you wash your pair of Dryskin? I recently got a pair of Enfin Leve Amaitu, first time actually trying out this material and I'm not quite sure how to treat them

@@quantic7244 I haven't washed my pairs yet. I'm treating them like denim and just putting them in the freezer to freshen them up. Most dirt etc seems to wipe off easy. A quick hand wash and line dry works great for most items. The more you wash these materials the more dye they lose and the DWR becomes less effective too. You can add new DWR treatments in the wash though. But my advice is if they are smelly, put them in the freezer, if they are really dirty hand wash and line dry.

Dryskin feels "warmer" because of the softer material vs Stotz which feels "cooler" because of the ridged cotton (in a way like how jeans feels cold when you first put them on). Both are breathable fabrics and technically not made for cold environments by themselves (which is why EL now have Merino Dryskin)

Is stotz etaproof different for their jackets? It says "100% cotton waterproof, windproof Swiss fabric, is the ultimate protection from adverse weather conditions. Spun with extra long staple fibre yarns, this natural cotton fabric offers exceptional breathability and durability." Says "proof" instead of "resistant".

From what I understand it's not waterproof (Stotz rates it for a 600-720mm water column, afaik 'waterproof' starts at about 1000 but don't quote me on that).

Does the technical twill or Schoeller dryskin have a deeper black or the darkest black .

Those two have essentially the same tone of black, stotz is lighter and will fade even more because of the cotton. The textiles have a different "texture" when looking at them though.

Nothing here for me is sufficient as far as “testing” for my hard-use life applications. A good overview of basic assessments and sensations, but beyond that is very thin regarding useful information. I do appreciate the sound test; it’s vital to my decisions and so often overlooked.

Can you describe the difference in sizing between aurreans and the ameztu? You mentioned you sized up to L in aurrean - would be interested in why since they're a looser fit compared to the ameztu's

Sure! It's mostly to do with the length. The Ameztu is longer than most pants so I could get away with M (and the waist fits pretty well) but if I did that on the Aurrean they'd be too short. I do have to wear a belt with them but the waist difference isn't too great

I don't get the pricing of those pants. Schoeller Dryskin is a very common fabric in alpine climbing. Highly technical pants with high quality workmanship go for around 200 Euros and even lower as opposed to 480 Euros of the Enfin Leve. I for my part prefer the logoless, monochrome look of the Enfin Leve trouser for everyday wear, but the pricing looks like a rip-off of clueless hipsters who are impressed by a few technical features.

I agree that dryskin is fairly common in outdoor wear but then again, you are not likely to get the same aesthetics from them. From a performance standpoint, they would do fine but you just don't get that lewk with them. I think Enfin Leve is about the aesthetics with some performance thrown in and given that they are made to order pieces, the price is not completely unjustified.
