I’m 49 and the top recommendations from this video have helped my hair A TON!!! I started using them a few weeks ago and I can honestly say my hair hasn’t felt this good in years! My hair was dry, frizzy, constantly breaking at the crown, and I was finding my hair everywhere so it was also thinning as a result of all the breakage. I’ve been using the garner shampoo and bond repair treatment, along with the L’Oréal bond conditioner and my hair has been so good. I’m no longer stressed about seeing only a few hairs in the shower or around the house because I think my hair is actually stronger and no longer breaking! I recently added Olaplex 3 to my routine 1x per week and it has really leveled up the strength of my hair! Thank you Abbey!

I’m a chemist! It’s pronounced ‘bis’, the 2nd way you said it with the softer ‘i’ sound. Basically bis means that 2 substituents on a molecule are separated by another substituent in between. If a molecule is ‘Bi’ instead of ‘bis’, it means those substituents are right beside each other in the molecule. I hope this helps!! Thank you for doing all the work to bring us this video 🫶🏻

I really loved the Garnier set, especially the conditioner, but the bottles are an issue. They are very stiff and it’s tough to squeeze out the product, to the point that it’s an accessibility issue for consumers with motor control and strength disabilities. Something I think the Garnier could address and would make the products more popular.

Bought the Dove shampoo and conditioner after watching you briefly mention it in another video. I’ve had it maybe 3-4 weeks and I’m very pleased so far! I have naturally fine, straight hair, color treated, but pretty healthy because I have short hair. I’ve noticed my hair has definitely gotten thicker, is smoother, and feels so nice during and after use! My ONLY COMPLAINT is that I don’t like the opening on the conditioner bottle - not enough of an indent to open it easily, I have to use my nail to open. Super happy to have been influenced on this set, and also selfishly pleased that I chose your number one (or at least the last top-tier mentioned) choice hehe

This channel has transformed my life! I am such a cosmetic dummy (and very influenceable). After using my boyfriend’s curly hair super moisturizing hair system for the last 3 years (I have straight hair and an oily scalp) I was SO FRUSTRATED because my scalp was constantly itchy and flaky and became oily so fast. I’ve been on fluocinonide topical treatment which washes it away for a fee days but I’m sick of this prescription the bottle is literally so tiny and I hate going to the pharmacy. Well I found this channel and brought a clarifying shampoo out of the cupboard, started double shampooing, and my hair feels SO GOOD. I could go days without a wash (if I wanted to) and there is not a flake to be seen. I realized that the medication that I was using was basically just acting as a chemical exfoliant and by scrubbing it into the scalp I was loosening and washing away the buildup lol. I AM NOT SAYING DON’T LISTEN TO YOUR DERMATOLOGIST LOL I just was always suspicious because the treatments for my supposed condition weren’t really working.

I do generally like Nexxus products and I love their Color Assure line for keeping my color intact (which is especially important considering I have a lot of stubborn grey to cover; sulfates really strip my color badly), and I grew up in my mom's salon seeing Nexxus used by some of her coworkers. They are a well-priced alternative to a lot of other salon products. These days I tend to stick with drugstore products simply because high-end stuff isn't in my budget. That said, I've been thinking about trying their bond repair, but after watching a lot of your videos, I didn't think there was anything unique about their bond repair after reading the ingredients and seeing citric acid. I bought the L'Oreal bond repair line a while back based on your videos and I'm thrilled with it. Again, I grew up with my mom using Redken products at her salon booth and at home, so when i saw there was a dupe for their bond repair, I was on board. I do use the Bondbar curl cream for styling after every wash, regardless of whether I use other bond repair treatments, and I can say I've really enjoyed that product enough that I've repurchased. Thanks so much for your videos. You've helped save me from a lot of expensive trial and error!

About a month ago, I used the hair dye I have been using for the last 5 years (Schwarzkopf Keratin Color Permanent Hair Color, 1.9 Rich Caviar) and noticed the smell was so strong and the color was more orangey and than red. And it stung my scalp. I knew something was off but didn’t wash it off. It’s been my trusted color for years and my hair always felt healthy and vibrant afterwards. I wish I went with my gut feeling and washed it off. I don’t know if my box was a dud or they reformulated but my hair now feels so dry and my usual it’s a 10 mask that leaves my hair so soft isn’t doing anything. And the color didn’t come out vibrant as usual. I am going to try Doves Bond Strength system and research more of your videos to see what I can do instead of chopping off my long hair. 😢 but thank you for making amazing videos and shorts. 😊

The loreal bond strengthening line and bond repair lines are my favorites (i don't know the difference between the 2), and I use the dove repair mask or the loreal miracle rescue deep conditioning mask!!! I use them all in the same wash other than switching between the masks. Then, I'll apply the loreal 21-in-1 leave in conditioner with the ogx coconut milk serum last. I also love the liasion bond repair line (it's a little more expensive and not drug store) but it really promoted my growth!!! Your top-tier bond repair lines are all on the bathroom shelves, and they're all amazing!!! I have thin/ fine medium hair and none of these products weigh my hair down. My hair gets bleached about every 3 month and my hair dresser is so impressed with the health I was able to get my hair to after going to someone who put 40 volume bleach on my hair and fried it! These products have revived my hair and all mentioned above in my comment are always on my shelves. I love the loreal bond repair pre poo and use it as directed.... before washing my hair instead of oiling it.

Thank you for TOTALLY changing my straw broom Hilda hair😘 The L’Oréal bond system changed my hair so much! But then I went total Dove 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 Dove: shampoo, conditioner, mask, bond shield 10 in 1 & Dove 7 in 1 miracle mist I still use the L’Oréal bond repair concentrate. (Hope Dove makes a bonding concentrate one day. Sometimes you need it when you dye your hair regularly & when you need to clarify junk out of your hair. Just a small wish list for Dove to fulfill 😜 My piggy toes are crossed.🤪) And I used the coconut milk that you recommended and it was nice. But I found Dove’s bonding shield transformed my hair so much I’m twirling!😜😜 Thank you so very much for all your research on expensive brands and especially more reasonable priced brands so we can all have healthy hair and look good too. Again, thanks 😘

That’s so crazy about the Pantene set. I use that all the time and absolutely love. Guess it just goes to show how different hair responds to different products. I’m going to get the miracle rescue now too since you so highly praised it and see if I love it too. Thanks for this comprehensive review! I’m new to bonding products and appreciate the deep dive.

Wonderful video. Thank you. I’ve been using the L’Oreal bond repair set after your original recommendation but now I want to try Garnier and Dove! My hair is fine and thin so I’m not sure if dove would weigh it down. Your hair looks so beautiful!!! Love your sense of humor. Your lip gloss is so pretty also…you always pick great shades of lip color!

I recently bought the whole Garnier line including the leave in and the cream. So glad u liked it. Whew! May get some of the Dove or NYM. I used their curly hair line and liked it. Appreciate all the hard work on this. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I’ve recently fallen back in love with Garniers sleek and shine shampoo conditioner, I’m so impressed! Great for clarifying and the conditioner is like a mask! Gonna pick up the dove serum mask next, thank you!!

I rarely comment on any videos but I just had to echo the many sentiments of appreciation for the amount of time and effort and intentionality you put into your videos. I have been on a hair journey over the last year since beginning to grow my hair out from a near buzz, and with my hair being a mix of 3B & 3C, but thin with good density and HIGH volume even with products weighing it down…I’ve learned a lot haha! Between you and Manes by Mell, it’s been life changing. I’ve rehabbed the ends of my hair which were straw, and my hair has been growing out more steadily and easier to manage. Also gotta shout out the transparency and that you always explain how it might work for someone else. Lastly as a brown boy, thank you for the tinted SPF video 😍

New here & just subscribed. I was so happy that you discussed scent. Before I became a gray lady, I dyed my hair & used to use Garnier, until they made their scent stronger (what you call OG, but was 2nd gen for me). It made me so sick. I was relieved to discover I wasn't allergic to the dye--just the scent, but I could never get the exactly right color (Honeydrip) ever again. Thanks also for reviewing drugstore brands. My hair is almost waist length & full & wavy, so I'm not spending $40 on 8 oz. of shampoo. I have a normal, but itchy scalp (which dying used to really help with) and extremely dry hair, but my challenge is my gray hair is coming in fine & easily breakable and my hair with color is the same as always, waxy, coarse, heavy & non-porous. Hopefully the 1 of the top tiers will help. I do wish you told us how long the masks take and recommended interval between masks. Thanks bunches...

Hi Abbey! I decided to try Dove Bond Strength out based on your recommendation and it is magic. I have thin bleached hair with low to medium density and it works wonders on my hair! I even want to say it worked better than Purology Strength Cure!! Thank you so much for this recommendation, I am obsessed! ❤

Omg I thought I was going crazyyyy trying to find what was the culprit of my hair feeling heavy and greasy after JUST showering and then I found out that it was likely the Dove system - you mentioning all of the comments who has the same experience makes me so relieved that it wasn’t just me and I wasn’t going crazy!!! I really wanted it to work for meeee.. 😢

Thank you Abbey! What’s the main difference between the Dove Bond Strength line and the Dove Intensive Repair? Both are for damaged hair. Would you alternate between them? Which one is better? I get confused between the regular shampoos and conditioners and the bond repair lines as they both seem to be for damaged hair. Can you use a bond repair line daily?
@d.m5812Ай бұрын
I personnaly like the conditionner from the intensive repair line than the bond repair ( i have thick hair with blonde balayage and the bond repair conditionner does not make my hair feel silky like she describes...).
@kite6864Ай бұрын
the intensive repair doesn't have the special peptide protein in it
@erin.in.colourАй бұрын
@@TexasLyoness I actually prefer the Intensive Repair line, it still leaves my hair soft and supple but with less weigh down than the Bond Repair.
@AbbeyYungАй бұрын
Intensive repair doesn't have the peptide! Still has awesome ingredients for damaged hair though (a lot of the same ones minus that peptide) and is lighter weight, so overall better for those with hair that is easily weighed down

Bought the Dove line on your recommendation and it’s so amazing, but especially the mask. I still go between that and the L’Oréal because the fragrance in the L’Oréal is sooo nice (and I think it cleans my hair more deeply) but man am I surprised Dove is this good!! The only body wash I use is Dove beauty soap too lol. Maybe Dove is just weirdly slept on in the beauty community?
@AbbeyYungАй бұрын
It 100% is!! And I slept on them too... I think it's all because of their packaging but they're updating it!
@hexaitineАй бұрын
I changed to Dove body wash too!! I use the cucumber one, smells so good. I tried using Dr Bronners castile like a year because I bought multiple bars and a large bottle, but it doesn't lather very well in my hard water - I had to use a lot to get foam, which defeated the purpose of having the concentrate (and was probably really bad for my skin, although I'm not super sensitive to soaps below the face). I thought about trying the Dr Bronners sugar soap instead of the castile but I found out it's more expensive than Dove's body washes. And I find myself only needing a pump of the body wash, I definitely had to use more than that volume-wise from the castile soap to get any sort of lather. I want to try Dove bars too eventually, liquid is more of a convenient form factor though (I find my shower walls dry ok, but bars seem to struggle drying and they get gross). I think Dove "soaps" are a little controversial and that might be why it gets slept on. A lot of people find out the beauty bars are not "real soap" (because it isn't made with lye, so it can't be marketed specifically as "soap") and assume that must be a bad thing and that all Dove cleansers are bad. Dove's body wash seems to clean me all the same as Dr Bronner's, but I don't feel as dry after. Maybe on an extra sweaty day now I'd scrub a smidge harder but that's all.

I'm so happy that L'Oreal changed the formula and the scent! I loved what it did for my hair, but had to use a clarifying shampoo as a first cleanse everytime with the old formula and just didn't love the scent. So happy I can go back to it! I do have the L'Oreal Ever Pure Clarifying line and love the smell of that. I'm currently testing out the Garnier Hair Filler Treatment and so far, so good, but I probably won't repurchase unless they change the packaging to an easier-to-squeeze bottle or tube...

Abbey, your dedication to researching and creating your videos is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into them. I have hair that's fine, but lots of it, and it's color-treated. I've been using the L'Oreal system since you first recommended it (in addition to K-18 and Living Proof), and I don't think it weighs my hair down, but I think I"ll start mixing it up and try the other top tier options as well. Thanks again for all you do 🤩

Thank you so much Abbey 🥰 this was so great to watch! I bought the Dove system and the L’Oréal system a couple of weeks ago bc I have been away for the summer and I do not miss the expensive sets I have back home at all. I have fine hair so I use the just alternate the shampoo from each set with either the Pantene Volume & Body that you recommend or the L’Oréal Ever Pure Clarifying shampoo. Magic. Thank you so much for all your help!
