Not sure how it’d would be done but one of the issues applies to K1&2 and Judgment, being the recycled bosses.

The death scene in Y3 was definitely one of emotional peaks in Yakuza series Kiryu lost so much by that point, you can tell he really couldn't bear it anymore

2 interesting Details i picked Up both before and during the Nishki fight when i played kiwami were 1. Before the Fight when Yumi Talks to him about how he could change and stop this whole mess He actually listens to her and seems to agree ( even If He doesn't say it ) because He probably thought for a second that Yumi belived that He could change on his own terms and Show that He was stronger than Kiryu by doing that but he begins to lash out as soon as Kiryus Name ist dropped because he has been stuck under his Shadow and been taunted with Kiryus Name for 10 years and wanted to stand in his own 2. A lot of Nishkis moves in Kiwami are actually from Joji Kazama in Yakuza 3 wich is nice because that's probably how Shintaro Kazama himself fought when he was alive

For Yakuza 5 i think the best thing they did is show that Kiryu really is the dragon. The peaceful life he lead ate away at him and you felt it in how agressive and resentful his fighting style is. It's like for this game, he finally let loose and his long battles/boss fights are a testament to that. This game gave us the most draconic Kiryu and opened him up from another side. We believed he could live a simple life, but that'd just not for him. It made so much things in the series make a lot more sense. Kiryu was born to stand at the top, and do so alone. Perhaps, in that manner, Ichiban has already surpassed Kiryu, as someone who doesn't overwhelm those around him, but evokes strength in them and elevates them.

12:34 The greatest inconsistency: He lifts of the right leg to jump, but only if you slow the video right down that you realize he faked it. 12:35 He stopped, jumps of both tie stops and spins clockwise. If he didn't fake the jump, he would have spun anticlockwise. In the preview for Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii: He did the same trick again.

Your take for Yakuza 6 was pretty solid tbh and would not be suprised if it was what the developers actually intended. I also liked the Hirose family and how they fit into the overall story. They weren't overly serious like the other families but more like close friends. And Kiryu seemed to really enjoy being with them!

One of the things that stuck out to me with Ryuji is that as far as overall combat prowess go, he's far from the strongest fighter Kiryu fights in the series, and yet he wins Kiryu's and the audience's respect. You can see in his boss fights how Ryuji is all strength and not much technique. His forms are sloppy, but he hits so hard he's still dangerous. He's also charismatic. And despite his power hunger, he has morals and lines he will absolutely not cross, and that was what made Kiryu respect him even years after his death.

0: The best thing here is honestly the respect to the rest of the series and how they manage to both bring new players into the series and give existing players insight into what caused events to turn out as they did. New players get to see events with enough context given that they learn about the world fresh, but existing ones get them fleshed out nicely. For example: Majima's story. We see as a new player he is depressed and alone having lost his oath brother and having the crap beaten out of him by Shimano, he is at rock bottom. As an existing player we see what happened to Majima while Saejima was busted and in jail after shooting everyone up and after losing his eye. That's just one example, but zero excels in being a game for all, most importantly new players. Kiwami 1: The best part was the Nishiki expanded scenes, in the original he just came off as a jealous loser for Kiryu getting Yumi and being better than him, but in Kiwami we see the true extent of how despair, how everyone treated him like crap despite his best efforts to save his sister that failed...how he wanted to commit sepukku. It makes a lot more sense how he lost himself to despair and it makes the final battle go from a meme to tragic. Having seen Zero it adds so much more too Kiwami 2: Ryuji is one of the better parts of the game but it wasn't one that stuck out to me too much. The final battle setting was epic. 3: I agree that Kiryu being more human here was definately one of the best parts. But there are 2 other very close reasons this game stands out. ""Lyricism without Tears" and "Fly". Mine was a great villain too. 4: I agree on this point but I think the introduction of Saejima is a massive point here, we get a great new figure in the Yakuzaverse, the tiger to Kiryu's dragon. Majima's transformation here too stands out, he becomes a LOT more grounded and "sane" again and it makes sense as he no longer has the loss of his brother on his shoulders. 5: There is one stand out point here above all else. THE BOSSES, but if I had to pick just one.....Aizawa. This boss battle is by far the greatest in the entire series. The music is spot on, the set pieces are great, the challenge to the player is amazing. I just wish the encounter rate wasn't so busted. 6: Someya definately stands out I agree here. But to me one of the biggest stand out moments is kiryu's letter to Daigo....if you played since 0 and encountered Daigo in all games (except Kiwami as he isn't there)......it hurts. 7: Ichiban is a breath of fresh air, a lovable nerd that focuses on friendship.

Most things I agree with except for your opinion on kiwami 2. Kiwami 2 is my favorite yakuza game and playing 3 right after felt like such a step down. I loved the story in kiwami 2, the soundtrack, the combat is fun with the wacky physics, and GODA. Yakuza 3 combat was very boring and I treated it like how I treated Yakuza LAD, just play through it for the story and be done with it. Couldn't stand the combat in Y3 but i really liked the story towards the end. Y4 is really fun because it was such a step up from Y3 and finally can play multiple characters again. Saejima was so much fun to play as aswell. Yakuza 5 was also pretty fun for much of the same reasons as 4 but Y5 story was not my favorite, probably my least favorite in the series. Then there's Y6 which is on the same tier as Kiwami 2 for me. Easily my 2 favorites of the series. If we count judgement games they are the best from RGG. Best story, best combat. Lost Judgement, Judgement > Kiwami 2, Y6 > Y0, Y5, Y4, Kiwami > Y3

Nice list, but here is my opinion: 0: Cabaret club. K1: OP as fuck Tiger Drop. K2: Ryuji and his theme. 3: Morning glory kids. 4: THE SELFISH DEED IS NOT FREEEEEEDOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!! 5: The character of Park Mirei. 6: Someya and everything of him. 7: The feeling of having companies. Ishin: Bathhouse fight. Judgment: Saori. Lost Judgment: Also Saori.
