Yes, you should learn grammar first and if you master just a bit, that you can understand some basic conversations, then you start learning orthography/spelling. BTW, if you learn spelling, try to find places where they teach you the _Ortografía de la lengua española (2010),_ if it's not from 2010, you shouldn't learn it because it might be outdated. Also, guide yourself through the Real Academia Española (RAE) (Royal Spanish Academy, in English) dictionary or online dictionary and through Fundéu.

Great easy to understand explanation of the pronouns and their uses. I find your chart is super helpful. In Canada, we have to start to study French as young as junior kindergarten. We use the chart system as well but we do it in a vertical manner with a double line separating the singular and the plural pronouns. Charts are invaluable when it comes to learning verb conjugations. I like your vertical chart for Spanish 😊. Thanks again for another great lesson.

i love these videos so much. my papi was a native speaker but passed when i was young so i only know a kid's level of spanish. im engaged to a white canadian guy who doesnt know any spanish at all and i've been wanting to teach him so he can meet my padrinos and understand them a bit better. this is soooo useful for me to help teach him because some of these things i wouldnt even think to explain as it seems like second nature, and other parts help fill in the gaps of my own lack of knowledge with spanish. for example, the numbers video you mentioned "deici-" is essentially "diez y" put together. id never even thought of it that way but it is so helpful for someone who isnt used to the way numbers work in spanish!

A lot late on the reply but the book I'm learning from entirely skips tú and vosotros. But I find learning thorough Dr Evans' methods to be far easier than through the book. But to answer your question, you can skip both of those in the middle section if you wish.

This is personal pronouns explained the easiest way to remember! Love it. I only have one question; overall do you teach Spanish that is spoken in Spain (not sure what it’s called, but I know it’s different) or is this Latin America Spanish? I know the words are pronounced differently in Spain they pronounce certain letters with a lisp. Thank you!

He teaches standard Spanish and uses Latin American pronunciation. He sometimes includes certain things that you would find in Spain. Btw there are various names for Spain Spanish such as Peninsular Spanish, Iberian Spanish, Castilian Spanish etc.
