The Hanstaiger X1 looks amazing. Looking at other models , I wonder if it would possible to design a trimaran made of carbon fiber and titanium that includes hydrofoil feature. It would be awesome if it were able to cruise at over 20 knots as a sail boat.

MAJOR selling point - don't mind the fact that they overlooked numerous details, that sink research made me place an order!
@gregdamario5808 Жыл бұрын
Well spoken. In my opinion, the Rapido 60 is a very large & very fast daysailer or weekender. As a cruiser, the accommodations and galley are insufficient, only marginally acceptable for two people, a couple. And that is a lot of boat and a lot of sail area for two people to handle. I do not like the helm station. It is way too exposed for ocean sailing.

@alfredneuman64882 жыл бұрын
Look at it wallow while under way and the bridge deck clearance is so nonexistent that you can see a slap wave rebounding off the bow at one stage of the video. The designer has also tried to cram so much nonsense into the boat to impress that it looks way too overweight to even consider taking it blue water sailing. Every designer these days wants to design boats. They should just stick to designing what they are good at... watches, clothes etc. Boats like this are best designed by Naval Architects with the support of Marine Engineers. What a pig.
@gregdamario5808 Жыл бұрын
@@alfredneuman6488 Totally agree. I cannot imagine any sailor, no matter how wealthy, buying this boat. It is a rocking horse in very light seas. If the AC breaks, the helmsmen are going to be broiled alive in that greenhouse cockpit. Also, the crew can only access their quarters by walking out on an amas (at night? in weather?) opening a forward facing hatch and climbing down a ladder, then trying to sleep on the end of a teetertotter. Might as well name the boat "Bounty", because armed mutiny in three days. However, this would be a great boat to impress clients interested in investing in stocks or annuities, if the boat was securely tied to a dock or anchored 200 feet off shore in a protected bay. The interior is gorgeous after all.
@Xoman084 ай бұрын
@@gregdamario5808 Yeah, the location of the crew quarters makes me think this boat has been designed to impress and only be used in the Mediterranean or close seas and not in the open ocean. Although the documentation says it is classed as "open Ocean A" I would make it slightly larger, have the cabin crews among the passangers and in the location of the cabin crew I would put an underwater observation area.

@@rightright6582 Yah, OK, probably "daysailer". It is certainly fast and probably fun to sail in a coastal environment, where you can pull into a marina with an attached hotel every night, but you are going to need a crew to handle the sails. However, there are no reasonable onboard accommodations for a crew. For 60 feet long, it's a very small boat. It's a toy.

At $340,000 AUD with a trailer the Corsair 880's price at least here can't be justified when all it is is a newer albeit shorter version of the Farrier F9 that you can buy used for under $85k AUD and with pretty much the same gear, the 880 might be a bit lighter but the overall sailing experience isn't worth $255k AUD extra, just buy the F9 and spend $50k on it: The 60' Rapido is $1.5m AUD with a bit yet to spend, the 40'er is $850k AUD, all four will do 25 knots in the right conditions, the 60' should best 30 knots: Dragonfly 40 are a good fit and finished but way overpriced here too, they might hold value better in other countries but they're still the same old cramped design, be a hard sell used in Australia unless you're prepared to loose heaps (we have very different tastes to the rest of the world in many thing's) Neel's whatever size this one here is is apparently wrong but none are cheap, around $650k AUD for a 47 and fit and finish isn't great, they'd probably sell ok if they lowered the prices as you can by a really nice cat that's well sorted and faster for similar money, weird after sailing a cat but nice to have everything above the waterline: the rest I don't know just I couldn't afford to run a largish power boat, they don't interest me anyway.

Hangtagger is may favorite, but I would like to have 3 usable hulls. The middle for the big stuff I have and the 2 outer for rooms and storage. I just don’t see why you have a sizable beam, but only have space on top versus the lower levels. I see how catamaran are built and that makes way more sense. Just my opinion

The Dragonfly 40 is a super cool boat. I hate to see it mixed in with some of the others in this video which are either dogs or super yachts. Also, it surprised me to hear the Corsair 880 sleeps 5 people and is air conditioned. It would have to be since they’d be sleeping like sardines.
