Fun Fact: Antagonist doesn't actually mean "the bad guy" or makes the character inherently evil. The antagonist is the person/people/force working against the protagonist, or the main character, in a story. The protagonist can be evil and the antagonist can be good. It's just a matter of who the story focuses on and what's working against them.

Honorable Mentions: Alain Why: ok think about it, he was that guy who couldn’t be beat. He was nice, but he gave me the “quiet” and “unrevealing” vibe. From Ash/Satoshi’s perspective, you would know nothing about him except he has a charzard and could mega evolve it. But during the league and team flare arc, he becomes a bit more soft. Now, let's add Go to the list- (It's so cute on how he acts around ash. He gets all blushy sometimes, and when ash went after Gengar, Go was like: Hey, it was not like I want to help Ash or anything!, in a tsundere tone. You forgot to mention that Gladion softened up to Hau too and respected him a lot more as a trainer by the end of the game and prolly likes Hau and yes I ship them And I’m prolly far from the only one who’s pointed it out by now, but the term tsundere is by definition referring to these relationships in a romantic context. It comes from two Japanese words: ツンツン [tsun tsun] meaning prickly, and デレデレ [dere dere] meaning lovey dovey. The romantic context is built into the word’s very etymology.

Honestly Gladion in both the games and anime show great examples of him being more than just pretty edgy boi. In the anime it's not only shown in his own personality but in his pokemon. Gladions Dusk Lycanroc always patting Ashs Rockruff/Lycanrocs head in respect. Silvally easily being calmed by Gladion not to mention the immense pride it shows when protecting people. When I see it smile in the anime, particularly the scene right after it takes down the totem Komoo-o and Gladion praises it, I suddenly realize despite its chimera inspired appearance it really does act very dog like. Just what I'd expect from the adorable chimera puppers. His Umbreon has been with him ever since he took it after seeing it hurt and nursed it back to health. It was a shame that we didn't get too much development with it, but seeing it snuggle up next to Zoroark is very heartwarming. Seeing the Zoroark not only remember Gladion but use its illusion ability to show it memories of a happy Aether family (JOUNEYS BETTER FINISH THEIR ARC) makes me tear up a bit each time I watch the scene. The games are a little more subtle but let me just say that it's no coincidence that half of his team is made up of pokemon that only evolve with high friendship meaning that he clearly treats his pokemon extremely well. Both the Anime and the games have him steal Silvally away from the Aether Foundation because he felt awful about the way they had been treating it. Sure in the games theres some implications that he took Type: Null in hopes of growing stronger to prove his mother wrong, but if he were truly raising it for the wrong reasons it would have never evolved.

I love Galdion I’m the anime because even though he’s a huge edgelord, there is a softer side within him. He cares for his sister and respects Ash as a trainer and friend. Unlike Paul he views Pokemon as equals and I like that even though he is Ash’s rival more focus is placed on his relationship with family

I also like to think that the string on the soothe bells Ash and Paul won aren’t red for a random reason. It’s red with a purpose. Now here me out. If you didn’t know,soulmate aus aren’t basically just two people having the same symbol connecting them,usually in a sort of romantic way. It’s normally connected by either writing marks or,get this,red strings. Now let’s go back to Cynthia’s phrase: “When one life meets another,something will be born” I think that the reason for the soothe bell strings to be red would be show the deep connection Ash and Paul have. Now,obviously not in a romantic way lol. But the red strings symbolize they’re deep connection. Maybe I’m looking too deep into it XD

I know these lists are opinion, but like, bruh. I wouldn't call Kiawe the best Tsundere, but he kind of is a Tsundere, but not the best. (He isn't super mean though, he's just a bit cold) From the Sun and Moon series, he doesn't seem to be impressed by Ash, and doesn't show much emotion near him, at the beginning. But the more you know him, the closer you get. He started off the series looking powerful and cold, and while he is still powerful, he now is more of a training buddy, than just a distant friend. He also show LOTS AND LOTS of emotion for Mimo, his little sister. So, he is quite cold at the start, but he can REALLY be friendly, the more you know him.
