Fly products seems to use all of the mentioned methods of offset, and in my experience handle torque probablythe best after Scout, however all the offsetting makes the entire paramotor feel slightly skewed as you mentioned. Great explinations.

Thanks a lot, i learned lot of thinks with your video. What about the 6mm screw of the goose bars on the miniplane ? too weak ? The original screw is a 8.8 grade, i'm gonna replace it with a 12.9, is it better ?

I recently bought the techno-fly/airconception that uses the tilted gooseneck bars and to my surprise, the behavior feels super close to neutral in all 3 axes. I don't feel any drawbacks at all, perhaps just that turning against the torques side on idle is slightly lazier and requires a tiny bit of weight-shift. Don't know how they do the magic ... perhaps testing a lot of prototypes in order determine the best combination sweetspots for all offsets. But take it as a sidenote ... thanks for another great video, thumbs up!

But what about all this compensation for thrust wont that cause the unit to turn to the left when motor is off and in a glide only ?
@BenRaven4 жыл бұрын
Yes a good observation, this actually occurs on light aircraft too. Most paramotors and aircraft are balanced for cruise RPM. I’ve also noticed the aspect ratio of the wing can have a varying affect on how pronounced the torque effect is on non-Scout paramotors.

Yes it will slightly turn, over compensating non existend torque on idle.

What are your thoughts on adjustable cross straps for Torque Compensation like Adventure use on the Pluma?

I don't know how they work.

@@SCOUTaviation I haven’t seen one in person, but my understanding is that they alter the harness geometry to induce a weight-shift turn. Tom Kubat talks about it a bit in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXend2iMmMaiY9U

I've seen some prototypes of coaxial propellers -- obviously greater complexity and more parts to fail. Additionally, there are a couple quadrotor (similar to DJI and similar small drones) that have four small propellers with 2 turning clockwise, and 2 turning counter clockwise to cancel the torque.

Let's present your videos with "Creative Common" license... So that we have the opportunity to add them in our own channel in our mother tongue... Especially the geometry lessons, Thanks...

The carabiners offset in the miniplane first example is wrong. They are moved to the left, not to the right. Cheers 😊

Yes I messed up. I said the drawing stands for a paramotor torque steering to the right but in the bottom right corner it was labelled as miniplane. That label was incorrect

Why wouldn't you move the engine slightly off center?
@SCOUTaviation4 жыл бұрын
It would cause twist. I little would probably be ok, but it just does not feel right.
