Agree 100% with your Burroughs and Smith being kinda tied.

In high school I got thumbed super hard in the eye. I broke a bunch of the vessels in my eye and my entire eye was filled with blood. I've never had eye problems I recovered great; however, I still frequently burst blood vessels in my eye randomly. Sometimes I can just wake up and my eye is just bleeding lol. My vision is better than 20/20 but still have this weird quirk haha

Jordan Burroughs. John Smith. Bruce Baumgartner. David Taylor is my Mount Rushmore of American wrestlers. That's 2 NJ guys and zero Pennsylvania 😎. I put JB ahead of Smith because of how many talented wresting countries were apart of the Soviet Union, diluting the competition. Also JB I think had a slightly bigger impact. When JB started his run in 2012, America was not on the level they are today where they're expected to bring home gold medals every year. Burroughs lit the torch...and it doesn't hurt that he's from NJ.

As much as I like David Taylor I would have to put Dave Schultz in his place. Dave's legacy is so significant. He's the guy who started building relationships with the eastern wrestlers which opened up a whole new way of training for us Americans.

Carlton Haselrig was the original Neal. Not in the world level. But college wrestling champ them goes to the Steelers and wins multiple super bowls as an offensive lineman like Neal. Neal is def another big what if guy

Undefeated high school wrestler from PA with 4 PIAA state titles (in my opinion the best high school wrestler ever)and he was a two-time NCAA champ a runner-up and a third place finisher. He won a silver and bronze at the world championships he deserves to be on this list. And got screwed multiple times at the Olympics and world championships.@@StevanMicicSRB

Young Gable , talent and what couldn’t been, has to be at the top. He was the US chance to have a guy have a Sadulaev type run of 6 year plus straight of golds. Sucks. Hes still young enough to do it but for some reason won’t smh.
