Quick tip: run 'sfc /scannow' in elevated command prompt to fix corrupted files on your drive where your OS is installed and stay away from using any power plan besides Balanced unless you are using a power plan specifically designed for your CPU. Most processors are setup to be optimized for Balanced and they use specific power profiles defined in BIOS, so it can really mess up power draw and temperatures if you change the minimum processor state to 100%. My i7 12700 has a base clock of 2.1GHz but a boost clock of 4.9GHz. The Balanced power plan allows my processor to go through its normal boost behaviour with minimum processor usage at 5%. The moment it switches to High Performance, it is forced to maintain the max speed on all cores even when nothing is running, which it wasn't designed to do. I got constant stutters using the High Performance plan, which eventually lead to severe corruption on my SSD, making it unrecoverable. I tested this when I got a fresh SSD and a completely clean Windows 11 Pro installation and managed to reproduce the stutters by running the High Performance power plan for a while and then fixed the stutters by switching back to Balanced and then fixing corruption on my SSD.

I havent encountered that issue with AMD processors but yeah balanced is probably okay for most people. The only tweak I'd make is turning off USB selective suspend in advanced power options

The fact that you mention ReviOS. I went absolutely crazy with Apex optimization, and tried ReviOS. It's great for Apex. Not so great with any newer games.

yeah display scaling is great for getting a crisper image. I used to be in the same boat with a gtx 1080 playing on 1280x800 to get 180 fps, but I finally caved and shelled out $500 to get my rtx 3060 ti earlier this year. Was definitely worth it not to have to tweak as much stuff to get decent frames. Enjoy the new card!

debloated windows and can now run apex at 4000hz polling rate(even 8000 with slight lag) at 8000 dpi scaled to 400 with a 0.05 sence multiplier ,also uninstalled gforce experiance and enabled msi on my gpu(all things i tried from reddit posts). am using a curve i found linked to twitter for raw accel on its server which combined motivity and a natural curve for the y axis and it is good.

Question is - if regedit stuff forces ur game into real fullscreen - which has same performance stuff (input delay is lower, maybe better performance..) what’s the real point of using display scaling if it does the same except it makes the game more visible on lower res? I hope u undestood my question:D

don't really get the question sorry. they do very different things. the point of display scaling is just to play stretched res with a clearer image and has more to do with your monitor

Hello. I'm experiencing a bug that's only happening with Apex and I tracked it down to one of your optimizations here. It's the registry edit of the r5apex Flags key. It does disable in fullscreen apex those windows overlays that Spotify and stuff use. However, I'm noticing now, everytime I tab out and tab back into Apex, the game is noticeably brighter, like the gamma increased. Then if I go to the Video tab in-game and click on (don't even need to change) any setting to bring up the Apply option, and click Apply, the brightness or gamma goes back to normal. I've only found two things that fix it. I either go into the NVCP>adjust desktop color settings and I check Override to reference mode under Color accuracy mode. But this disables my Nvidia color setting like digital vibrance. I could just solely use my monitor's color settings, but I like the look of the Nvidia color settings. The other fix is simply changing that registry key back to 11 from 211, but then the Spotify and whatever overlays are re-enabled. I guess the compromise is to always go into my Video tab and click apply every time I tab back into Apex but that will get annoying. I'm tempted to just leave the registry key on 11 to avoid this. I tried it with and without checking Disable Full-screen Optimizations and Override High DPI scaling, but I don't think they're related so that didn't do anything. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Are you also using Nvidia color enhancements without override to reference mode?

do NOT, I repeat do NOT change flags back to 11. Disabling fullscreen optimizations and forcing exclusive fullscreen is a must for any dx11 game. What your experiencing has nothing to do with exclusive fullscreen.

I just setup dual boot with win 11 to try it out and it runs everything very well. Latest version, completely stock and its getting similar performance to highly tuned revios win 10 install lmao

i still dont understand why the anti aliasing needs to be turned on. probably 99.9% of the player base would keep it off. even in other games like csgo and valorant, they recommend turning it off. i think for a casual player base its fine. and for those who play controller and are not competitive and play ranked. but does it actually make something better?

It definitely doesn't need to be turned on but it makes the game look better especially at range or if you're playing on less than native resolution. IMO best image quality is with nvidia sharpening filter and apex antialiasing as I mentioned. Will make a separate video on that "even in other games like csgo and valorant, they recommend turning it off. " no reason not to use it in those games when modern hardware can run them at 500 fps and valorant primarily depends on your CPU

It's a known issue right now with apex crashing. It can literally just happen from browsing your loadout while getting into a game. Only things in this tutorial that could have some sort of problems is the registery edits but that shouldn't make the game crash. Other thing that can trigger the freeze is having overlays on so it's kinda 50 / 50 at that point. 😂

@@LOBOTOMYtv I am using the latest Nvidia driver. I always keep all of my drivers up to date. There is no option called Image Scaling at all in Nvidia Control panel Global settings (above Ambient Occlusion). Instead I have Image Sharpening with sliders (when set "ON") to adjust sharpening and ignoring film grain. EDIT: Just to clarify. I got this to work when I had previous monitor and previous PC. Was super easy and completely fast process to set it up.

@@myytti16 That is super weird. Looks like it may be a bug with 4K resolution (although I've used it on a 3440x1440 monitor before). @@LOBOTOMYtv Your videos have been so helpful its not even funny, i use raw accel , play on 1600 by 1050 as i have a 2060super and just all things like this in general help, i have one unsolved mystery, have you messed with higher polling rate mice that go past 2000hz on apex? anything i try helps slightly to use 4000hz but theres still a slight lag sometimes on screen, i gave up and use 2000 now

@@oasisnova I sadly don't own any mouse with higher polling rate. Definitely something I'm interested in but I hate the viper ultimate shape so not getting the v2 pro. Maybe when viper mini wireless comes out it will support 4k. If you're having issues with higher polling rate its probably CPU related. I believe source engine may also have some issues with it. Try reducing any CPU load, maybe fresh install windows too. I also think you need to play at least 3200 DPI with higher polling rate
