I'm a brit, so our tape measures show both inches/16ths and cm/mm, just to make life more exciting ! This was a great explanation video though for folks who aren't sure, nice one :-)

Another brilliant instructional video! 👏 Great insight about the tip of the tape measure and why it's flexible. 👍 You're unto something very different in your channel as I've mentioned before, and I'll add (because I forgot to mention it last time) that things like proper posture, letting the tool do the work, etc. would all be helpful, and I'm sure they're on your radar. I'll share that I once told an old timer who was a master carpenter 🪚 🔨⚒️ that I could drive a nail. He put me to do it under a very low porch where I had to almost lie down on my back. After about half an hour trying to set the nail, he came under the porch and in a split second, he centered the nail in the claw of the hammer, and swung it upward, and the nail stuck to the flooring of the porch instantly. After that, I decided to just hush, look, listen, and learn. Same deal with things like using a saw 🪚 backwards, etc. So it's not tools, tools, and more tools like we see on other channels, lots of times it's TECHNIQUE, and folks in martial arts 🥋 would get my point instantly. Keep on keeping on!👏👍 ✨

What's up, trini ! You made some valid points about posture and technique. There are more videos to come,focusing on these topics. I liked the story about the master carpenter and the learning lesson. Thanks for sharing your experience, and thanks for commenting.

My question is, is the measurement read on the left side of the mark or the right side of the mark?

I do the middle of the mark. Thanks for commenting.

I apologize if I missed it, but I watched your video twice. Can you tell me what the diamond represents again? I understand the 16 (on center) but missed the diamond. Excellent video!!!! Thanks again.
@templebuilderscarpentry70433 ай бұрын
No problem, I might have forgotten to mention it. The diamond is for spacing at intervals of 19.2 inches or 19 3/16 inches. I've never seen it used in residential. Thanks for commenting.

@@templebuilderscarpentry7043 I apologize as you did mention that. WHat I SHOULD have asked is, does that measurement signify anything, such as the 16" measurement signifies the 16 on center. Thanks again!!!!

@@templebuilderscarpentry7043 I know, it’s weird and funny, but it left me second guessing myself every time I call a measurement. It’s been 30 frikken years and I still hesitate because of that dude.
