Yes super simple, but you'll leave a vertical folding line in the middle of the sweater.

If you fold it in half you will have a line going down the middle

perhaps with a very thin, stiff, cotton/ramie sweater, this method may cause a crease if its squeezed tightly into a closet pressed closely against other hanging items for months and months at a time, but even in that case, the fold would probably fall out within 5 minutes of being worn, from a combination of being stretched out and average body heat.
