Cool. Then, when enough people get caught "not caring" about plant restrictions, they'll make stricter laws further limiting plant counts or making it illegal again. Also, better hope Trump doesn't win in November because the party of "family values" (ironic considering a felon is their frontrunner) doesn't believe in using the plant we all have grown to love and wants to criminalize it and throw users/growers in jail for it. There is consequences to all of our actions. Be smart about it please.

As far as dude wondering why some stuff has so much bag appeal but little to no effect, there's a few reasons. I think the main one being that most commercial stuff is grown for profit first and foremost. They're incentivized to cut stuff as early as possible before the cannabis has a chance to fully ripen. Also, they know that bag appeal and marketing sells more cannabis than quality does. It's sad but true, so that's what they do. They breed for bag appeal and numbers on a lab sheet. Breeding for numbers on a lab test might sound great at first, but you have to keep in mind there's more we don't know about cannabis and it's cannabinoids than we do. People get blinded by bag appeal and numbers - it becomes all they shop for, and then that becomes all the commercial cannabis is bred for. IME, home growers and grey/black market tends to end up with more effective flower because 1) they're not limited to canopy size or plant counts and 2) they often don't have the luxury of using lab tests, so they're going by feel. There is a lower chance of some good unknown genetic quality getting bred out in an effort to chase 1 known terp or a few known cannabinoids.

I have and it was really cool. Had an ocean fruit cultivar (Tahoe x peanut butter breath) x purple punch. The stems in mid/late veg smelled nutty, dark, sweet, skunky AND funky. The leaves had a similar smell when rubbed. When the trichomes started developing, the leaves smelled like grape fruitpunch. But once everything got cut down, it became that nutty dark, skunky funk. It was really gassy when burned too which is just the cherry on top. A ton of amazing strains though will have a different smell or no smell at all until mid flower. I've experienced this with cap junky crosses.

Dude when you look at food retail cultivars they like copyright genetics it's insanely ridiculous like you're not even allowed to clone or harvest seeds of the plants you buy and grow. i totally agree with everything that's public is open source. take ownership and responsibility for what you put out there, if everyone was that way, we would have a lot less abuse and private property in the process and more equality and respect.

dude speaking of small container pots, I started with autos in 5L pots and it was definitely the bottleneck on my yield at first, but it had the benefit to finish the grow quickly. i upgraded all the way to 20L pots and it helped for yield a lot. Wondering if going 30L 1 pot in my 2x2 would be ideal. Now I went back to tiny pots though because I want to try keeping a bonsai mother of all the plants I grow. I have been going crazy on training fun shapes with bonsai wire on all my plants lately lol i broke so many stems and stunted my plants a lot, but for mother bonsai it's a feature not a bug to grow slowly. however, I shocked my mother cannabis plant when i transferred it from solo cup to bonsai pot with store bought bonsai mix. I hope it will recover, but I wonder if keeping my normal soil wouldn't have been better, at least until the plant establishes bonsai pot roots? I would love it if you bring a cannabonsai expert grower if there is a good one who would come on your podcast ^^

I normally try to keep enough room to get at least one clone from everything and then choose from the flowering mothers what to keep and what to remove. It's a lengthy process, but it's worth it in the end.

I have a legal plant limit of 5. The plant count is one of the least logical laws to exist.I just want to breed. I could easily grow 8 lbs off 5 plants outdoors with good genetics. Indoors i could grow 16 plants in a 4x4 and be very lucky to get 2 lbs. My point being why am i not allowed to grow many small plants to find the good genetics. My state only allows medicle grows, but it's hard to make good medicine if your sample size is microscopic. I would like to see the law shift in favor of being amounts deemed reasonably consumable or if they must have a physical metric somthing more like commercial grows with canopy space with more for outdoor grows due to them only getting one grow per year and since 1 plant could easily surpass the size of an entire indoor setup

@mrchewbacahimself7807 it's not so much that I "don't respect it" as much as I don't thing an "organic certification" is necessary. Especially if the developing scientists qualify it as organic. I'm not too worried about it personally. Especially since I grow primarily mineral based anyway.
@Primal_Primat3

Small pots are fine for small plant, hell you can even use them for "bigger" plants, but its going to be a nightmare with watering them. Right now I run roughly 36 plants under a 600w light in a 1m cubed give or take, 2 batches of 18 in a perpetual grow system, basiclly a SOG grow tbh. The most important thing is you have to trim like the bottom half of the plant and be ontop of deofliation, however once you work out the kinks, no other system will fill a space as quickly with top tier buds. Basically just a room full of smaller plants with just lots of top nugs.

I buy seeds, pop them, and breed them with my best strain male. Then I pheno hunt what seeds comes out of that,.. if your seeds that you buy are already at an f3 then breeding with an outside strain will give the full spectrum of that strain to the offspring instead of degenerating,... never feno hunt with less than 40 plants. Feno hunting package seeds has been a waste of time without breeding them out of their f3 status... you don't want f4 and f2 is too wide of a range in traits...
@CExpress420
@CExpress420 6 ай бұрын
Alot of people don't have the option of planting 40 plants at a time. It's a spectrum, and alot of people have a lower spectrum to work with. That doesn't make pheno hunting a waste of time.
@dankdogma.
@dankdogma. 5 ай бұрын
@@CExpress420 I am aware of all of your points, but after 30 years in the garden, pheno hunting from packages, you get 4-7 phenos... that is not hunting, but a very controlled outcome. If your plants are not bearing any medicine, they could only be pulled if someone reports you for being over on count. I still only end up with 6 plants of producing product, but I breed that too. In my area there is no law against growing biomass, unless it is for profit. Mathematically, and scientifically the higher count is far more sufficient for finding exactly what you want from that strain without accepting overburden genetic traits. So pheno hunting package seeds, is a waste of time, but pheno hunting less than 40 seeds of one strain is still fun as shizz.
