Hi. Another excellent how to video can't tell you enough how much i enjoy watching all your content. You could add some triangle piece to the top that butts up against the wall to give even more support when pushing forward when cutting the dove tails.

Nice video and great instruction. The only potential issue I see is putting screws into the end grain of plywood. They could, in time, pull out.

I assume you are referring to where the hinge is attached. Technically, plywood doesn't really have "end-grain" because of the alternating layers, but it might be a concern with the plywood splitting on the edge. The screws that attach that piece to backer will most likely prevent it from splitting, but you could always replace that piece with hardwood just to be safe, if you'd like.

Woodsmith Hello, With the piece in subject I Too would have rotated my piece 90 degrees. I would have also made my piece wider/thicker and then not had to both use a spacer block on that end and my screws would not have been on the so called end grain and would have gone thru the veneer instead...

William - I just looked at the MLCS. It does look simple, and the price is really attractive! I dont have any experience using it, but dovetail jig, in general, are all relatively the same. Personally, I have a leigh 18" that I really like.

Are you indicating that it's OK not to use a splitter? I didn't see you use one in any of this video.

Even though you don't see a splitter on this table saw, I would highly recommend using one if you have it. I would go as far as to say that having a splitter or riving knife is the number 1 safety device you can have on your table saw to reduce kickback.

Actually, Bryan gets a bonus every time he uses that word. :) He uses "now" a lot too. It seems like when any of us get in front of the camera we have verbal crutches that we fall back on and even though we try really hard to eliminate them they slip back in there.
