Claude Drouin Right on. Try to find that canopy tape. We usually buy a decent size roll of it at Canadian tire. And then you can easily replace it when ever you want if it starts to peal off on the C-Channel that you use. It hasn’t peeled off on ours yet but it’s good to have extra on hand.

Hi! How did the Scotty Anchor Lock hold up for you? I have a hard time finding information on them from people with experience. Im considering adding these to two kayaks - mainly for use in slow moving rivers. Anchor weight about 8 pounds, but with the added stress from being anchored in moving water - i am trying to get a picture of whether or not i should go for this solution.

Hey. Sorry for the late reply but the anchor locks are holding up great. Its been 3 years and those things are still bullet proof. We use the boat a lot and the anchors all the time. We even upped the weight of the anchors to 20 pounds just to help hold the boat better. The anchor locks pull those 20 pound weights like nothing. I do think the anchor locks work so good because of the flat 90 degree angle iron we use to mount them to our boat. It just helps support all that weight that's hanging down in the water. I think for your 8 pound weights for your kayak, the anchor locks will work perfectly. Let me know how it turns out.

Hey. So the chunk of plastic I used for those big downrigger mounts was just something I found laying around the house. I'm not sure what they were for. I did have to cut them to make them fit properly. Now the rubber tape I used to make everything soft and not scratch the boat is just canopy truck tape.It helps seal your canopy to your box of your truck. Works great for stuff you don't want scratched and to just add an extra cushion feel to it.

Nicholas Muenstermann Yes as of right now it is really working great. Used it over a dozen times. Not a single issue yet. Very happy with it. Would totally recommend trying it out on your boat.

Thanks for the input. I purchased a FS 1710 at the very end of season since Cabela's was closing them out. I was only able to get it out a couple times your anchor system your using seemed to make perfect sense. Just trying to have it rigged for the early spring.

Right on. How do you like your boat so far? And ya it’s a great system for being able to remove it when your not fishing. If you want more permanent mounts I’d recommend doing it a little different but I love being able to remove all the fishing equipment.

The fit and finish isn't perfect but for the price and everything I was looking for it's been perfect. I was only able to get it out a couple times because the day I picked it up was one of the first days it snowed and I just wanted to get thru as much of the engine break in I could before river started to ice over. I like the ability to remove the equipment so it should fit the bill it's going to see a lot of fishing. But I also plan to take it out to just cruise and pull some tubers or skiers and enjoy just being out on the water.

Yes. I couldn’t agree more. The finishing isn’t the best for sure. But for the price and what it all comes with is great. Hard to beat. And well this system should work great for ya then. Everything I’ve shown in this video has worked flawlessly for me so far. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

Why don't u keep mount installed all the time?

Hey Joe. My family just doesn't want all the fishing attachments on the boat all the time. I mean the rod holder and anchor lock bases can totally just stay where they are. But the downrigger mounts are just so big and bulky that when your tubing or water skiing its just really nice to get rid of them. Also, when putting on the ratchet cover its nice to not have all the attachments in the way. The cover just fits better with everything off. Honestly if you don't care about all that you can just leave it all on and do your thing. Its all just personal preference.

Hey. The track system came with the boat. They seem to be coming on all the newer boats these days. Great system to have for sure.

Fishing With Fish I’d love to find that track system! I’ve been looking for a good quality sturdy track that’ll take simple carriage bolts. I’ve been thinking I’ll make some this winter in the shop. I’d REALLY like a close up of that track to be copy when I build it. I’d sure appreciate it! I’ll watch your video again, I can’t quite make out how it’s made. Good job!
