yeah imo shotguns are utility weapons, when i face anything big i use a shotgun to cripple them and then go in with a chainsaw (still dont have a good auto axe ☹️)

@@AmeliaRomanov Hi, Sarah. I'd love to see your build. I'm guessing that's with adrenaline maxed out? I stopped using bloodied when I no longer was able to one-shot level 100 super mutants, after Bethesda ruined it (this was long after the update that replaced multiplicative with additive damage, so that's not the cause) and mostly use vampires just to keep up and running. I think I get somewhere around 800 or 900 damage with the bloodied, but I haven't checked it recently. I remember when it first came out, I was able to maybe two-shot a level 100 behemoth, but I don't think I was ever able to one-shot it. I still think the gauss shotgun is one of the best, most durable, and ammunition-efficient weapons in the game for anything but bosses.

There is one HUGE benefit from using the Enclave plasma thrower as a pistol instead of a rifle....The Perk Crackshot. Crackshot increases the flamer's range by 30%! That's why I use an Enclave flamer pistol.

Hey 😡 🐢 it would be amazing to see an updated video on the plasma flamer and enclave flamers including any mods and legendary effects some people swear by the auto version of them and some by flamer. I’ve also heard if you add the pulse capacitor with the flamer it’s good on the slug buster for more range and ammo capacity. Also I’m not sure what build would be the tankiest rifleman I’ve been playing stealth commando for a while. Thanks for all you do and another great video!

Plasma Caster with a crit build is efficient and devastating. ~150-~350 shots per boss depending how many buffs and how the fight goes. You can farm that back in 2 minutes in daily ops. I would say top 3, with the Railway and Plasma flamer.

I too am a fan of the Caster. Providing some of the biggest crit damages with or without vats 1400- 3000. But requires some gold to get those crit mods.

I am usually a support/stealth commando combo, but I do have an alt Heavy Gun build and keep an Anti Armor Gat Plasma with Vats Crit Hits +50 Damage for the big bosses. I was using a Vamp originally, and though I wouldn't die, I stood there for a long time spending alot of ammo and not feeling like I was doing enough damage. That Anti Armor helps alot!

My god, they murdered my melee build with fucking the deathclaw gauntlet which isn't even broken and they still have yet to fix the durability on the Gatling plasma and lasers, it's damn near mandatory to have the durability effect on them which is incredibly stupid

It is not stupid, it is one aspect of balancing strong weapons. The deathclaw gauntlet does not double dip into 2 perk categories anymore, that is true. It still is a viable melee weapon for unarmed builds.

@@Square-0ne it's one of like two unarmed weapons that are useable. Also for balance, what's so balanced about nuking unarmed possible damage 1. Can't use power armor 2. No ranged capabilities 3. Forced to use bloodied for any meaningful damage Not to mention without it the only perks you get is a measly 20% buff. How's it so balanced that something like the pepper shaker gets up to 105% off of perks alone but somehow 80% on generally underpowered melee weapons was too much. Hell to even get that flat damage increase you already sacrificed insicor, martial art and maybe even the blocker perk. Wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that unarmed is neutered in comparison to the gods of auto axe and chainsaw which are now even more encouraged to be used. You already hardly see unarmed builds and when it comes to melee in general all you see are auto axes and chainsaws. The only thing that even comes close to reconciling the unnecessary nerfed damage of unarmed is the unique 10% per strength, but to even make ends meat with that unique buff you need to abuse food items, unyielding and any + strength you can find, oh wait doesn't matter cause AA/CS scale off the same stat even if at a lower rate they can be used fast for high damage, unarmed and any other melee weapon has to be slowly swung, even more sluggish for a power attack only helped by legendary effects and a single perk card. Yeah safe to say, unarmed didn't need this nerf in the slightest when they were already hardly used by the playerbase, all it did was make a rare build even harder to actually utilize to decent effectiveness. Oh let's not even mention bossing, unarmed was already hard to kill bosses with especially compared to AA/CS but now it's even harder, only thing it shined in was mobbing really but damn near everything does that just fine anyways

@@dragonmaster3030 Power armor has its arm pieces (unarmed) with modifiers and having U.A. weapons seperated from PA counters the inherent advantages of PA. No ranged capability - it is a melee weapon. Bloodied is not necessary. One tapping is not a metric for success or fun. There are other weapons in the unarmed category like the mole miner gauntlet, boxing glove, power first or the bear arm which are enjoyable. The adjustments make it easier to adjust the game in future updates and the recent updates and cleanups seem to be preparations for a unreleased potential balance pass. I agree that there are some outliers at the top which need to be tuned to be more in line with the rest of the weaponry.

@@Square-0ne unarmed is the only build in the game forced from PA. Every other build can be used in PA which is a major debuff in itself not to mention to get reasonable defense you already need to spec completely in agility and strength plus 2 perks. 6 perk points down and many others just to increase a specific stat because of defense unless you like being made of paper. Even if you use bolstering your now killing one of the most helpful things for your damage output. Really, melee weapons have no range, obviously but in general it's still a general disadvantage when you can just use a gun. One tapping isn't a metric of success but unless you want drugs 24/7 and food hunting between every few events just for decent damage your gonna need bloodied. Let's face it, mole miner gauntlet is just poor man's deathclaw gauntlet, powerfist to me at least feels awkward to use and bear arm I havnt cared to touch because of it's swing speed. At least we can agree on some things needing to be toned down. On another note the Gatling lasers and plasma should get a condition increase. Plasma breaks after like 3 cores and lasers aren't much better. Miniguns last 10x as long despite them being functionally the same and without explosive variants running around now you can't even say their over powered especially when you can have a tt explosion minigun

I've participated in the Earle Williams event two times this week and both times he glitched in an infinite falling through the floor sequence and the he was standing on the ceiling for a bit. We managed to kill him both times but that was so lame... is he glitched like this for anyone else? (I'm on PS4 btw)

Plasma caster not being on her really feels like a snuff. VATS Crit Caster builds do like 1300-1700 every other shot. With the normal shot doing like 600+. I have no doubt that'll out pace half the weapons on here.

Yeah, I have a +50 crit version but generally use my +50 VATS accuracy version just because it is SO accurate for every day use and I don't really need the extra damage to finish bosses quickly.

@@jesusrivera8909 quad is nice but the real numbers happen with bloodied and anti then 50 bonus Crit is the king second star with any other vats related perk being the third star. Fire rate is nice but not completely necessary imo because you'll be one hitting everything but definitely worth keeping. The key is every second shot being a Crit with 33+ luck

I wish we could add weight reduction mods to our stash box. Would be nice to stock up on junk/ammo if you arent a 1st member. Also weight reduction for weapons or armor as alternate options to still give first membership relevence.

Honestly I got tired of being a glass cannon. Bloody build is great for packing that punch but a mole can kill you and you can’t hide from them. My heavy power armor build fixed that and turned me into a death machine. At half Heath I am the most dangerous and my armor protects me with autostim in case I miss it and only my weapons are vulnerable because they break at least once but that’s because they are doing massive amounts of damage and I need to stop myself so other players can enjoy the fight. I made the mistake of trying my bloody commando with my quad explosive handmade and got plastered and ground up because a cockroach found me.

I'm using your Auto Axe build: Hellcat with the Dynamo mod on the torso and a 1 star vampire electric auto axe. I take low damage = gives me free AP = AP makes the Auto Axe go Brrr = Auto Axe heals me way faster than I can be damaged. I just stand there and Earl kicks me lol

good roll on an aligned flamer, stabilized stock, reflex sights. standard bloodied commando build but replace with rifleman perks instead. spam canned coffee and shoot it in VATs. that's literally it.

The Nuka Launcher indoors is problematic as you see you end up doing damage to yourself. Also avoid using at events like Radiation Rumble as all the explosions become really distracting for other players. Its like when the grenade glitch was still working and people just kept throwing Nuka grenades. Just my opinion.....YMMV

I was in RR the other day and a guy with a grenade launcher was one shorting everything. I wondered what his build and weapon effects were, but it was annoying having those massive explosions going off constantly. I get people want to maximize their xp gains, but just like legacy spammers, you don't have to kill everything instantly to get it. I use a quad Tesla on most of my toons and on one I use an explosive .50 machine gun. It isn't disruptive and it doesn't kill things so fast that nobody else has a chance to tag stuff. People seem to think if they don't get the kill they won't get the xp. You don't have to do much damage for it to count!

It was a couple gat plas legacy guys killing everything and I just joined their team and I am 99% sure I was getting xp from their kills in RR.

I also use a plasma caster and it is effective against bosses, and there are different ways to do a critical hit every two hits in power armor. However, with the same build if you want to do a speed run, use the napalmer with a lot of coffee, the latter is much more efficient ;)

Pro-tip for people looking for an Enclave Flamer and struggling to get one from the RNG gods - you can get a named plasma rifle called the Slug Buster from the end of the Wastelanders quest line that's almost as good (and better than a normal plasma rifle), but it requires that you do some very specific things starting with Buried Treasure, so look it up before doing those quests (or if you've already done them, you can do them again on an alt). I've used mine as a flamer and it works extremely well, there's not a ton of difference between it and my enclave flamer.

For the Railgun. If you are lucky a Quad is the best. Even better Quad Exploding. However ultimately the Quad Explosive 25% less Vats is far superior to most weapons Even gave legacies a run for thier money. I suggest Bloody Build with use of Auto Railgun. I also suggest all legendary perks be specials with the exception of Charisma for, in my opinion is irrelevant when in combat. Depending on all your perception, Intelligent, Agility, and luck perk cards you can pretty much out shoot any other builds in the game. Now not that it matters but I started Day one Beta before the NPC'S and am now lvl 1538. I have done many builds but my default Build is Bloody. Bloody is better Damage and the experience is outstanding with complete set of Unyielding Secret Service Armor along with Heard Mentality serum.

Bloody is def the best on its own, but when you take into account the synergy from other things(like unyielding) avoidance of takeing dmg and so on the low hp builds is just crazy good as you say.

In all the time i played i found the flamer box mod only twice but got like 20 ready to go flamers doing dropped connection event. I recommend doing all enclave events whenever they pop up. You get the flamer only in dropped connection but there's only one random enclave event active at any time on the map and stays for 45min or so. By doing the others you increase the event spawnrate and the chance to start dropped connection.

One thing regarding auto-mele weapons, I am lucky to have rerolled both, the chainsaw and the auto-axe with Blooddy/+40%swing speed and +1 Strength (Both the same). And both with the best mods that each one has. And the chainsaw kills noticeably faster and does about 5 more damage per hit. Although in the pip-boy it says that the damage of the auto-axe is higher, I have tried both with all kinds of enemies (without melee perks) and the chainsaw has a better performance.

Automatic Railway rifle with x4 magazine, +shoot vel and crit mods is a beast. Sometimes one bullet make 2 crits, the game bug It 😀, the velocity is too high. In supermutants lv 100 crit = 800-900 and VS Scorched Queen aprox 250-350 per shoot.

My weapon of choice is the Chainsaw/Auto-axe… I took down the Colossus in a group of only 3 players at the event… with the right build I didn’t take really any damage until the game prevented me using Canned Coffee… My weakest max level weapon is a Vampire Combat Shotgun… has a range of 6 and it used when I am playing with new players on Quests and or to keep an enemy alive for a bit. My fun weapon is the plasma Pulse capacitor and Flamer barrel rifle… I have people asking about it… now Legacies are gone

How did you include the Plasma Flamer Pistol but ignore the Alien Blaster? A Two Shot Alien Blaster will easily compete with a Quad Railway Rifle. Combine the Enclave Flamer Pistol and Alien Blaster and you have 2 of the strongest weapons in the game as a Gunslinger. You really, really need to try out a Two Shot/Vats Crit Alien Blaster.

Glad someone with some reach finally showed players that literally all you need is a chainsaw with no perks at all to easily kill anything in the game. I'd love to see a dedicated video. Once players in mass learn they can use 100% of their perk loadout for quality of life perks I think the player base as a whole would become happier. Surprising how less grindy the game is when you're not just playing for ammo or the lead to make it...

Just a little note for the plasma flamer if you are using it on ps4/5. The crit bare sometimes doesn't fill even of you are supposed to be hitting the target. I've noticed this happen a lot when trying to hit the Queen or Earl in the head with it.

Hi, Turtle. I always like your videos, but I think this time you really should have demonstrated your "end game bosses" video on.... bosses. And running them without the proper build and perks isn't realistic at all. Anyone specializing in any decent weapon (or weapons, now that we can change loadouts so easily) will not run around in game without the proper perks and build.

I have used cold shoulder on the old bosses like Earl and SBQ. Works like a charm. It didn't work quite as good on the wolf but I didn't up my health when I ran into it so I died fast.

I have been using the minigun shredder almost exclusively for a while and it rocks! No ammo usage helps, but I just have to keep up the AP. a Nuka Candy Quantum and Nuka Candy helps there. Othertthings, as well, but I don't have a Slocum Joe's yet.

Don't forget about the humble colas themselves. With Cola Nut you can get close to the AP regen from canned coffee along with some other bonuses like healing, rad resists, and rad reduction. Might want to steer clear of Nuka-Grapes if you run bloodied/unyielding though.

I always felt that killing bosses or regular mobs as fast as possible, was only useful if you were in a hurry to get to the next one. Most my chars dont have a single damageing boost perk, and with a 30 min timer to kill the bosses, i dont need to rush. That said, i do find it impressive how much of a difference there is between my style of playing vs optimized players style :)

Yeah, I run damage perks but just the best bang for the buck ones. Weight saving and food preserving perks make life so much easier in game and I keep the junk weight saving perk just in case I need it but it rarely happens.

I mean I've seen Earl fights fail because of the timer - if you don't have strong damage dealers in that one it gets very hairy.

Nothing new here, just pay attention to the kind of build that matches your weapon (and vice-versa). Example: To use a plasma flamer you must be a full Rifleman build. To use a heavy weapon, you guesed it. So... great advicd here.

Have tried all of them... A critic build using Gatling Plasma in vats to head is my choice atm... of course you need to eat tons of coffee (or similar) to make it work properly. But damage is incredible high.

I have rolled a godroll AA +50% VATS (and a third effect I can't remember, will edit this comment when I check) The Fixer. With the right modifications, it ignores 90% armor. And can 2-3 shot any large creatures with all Commando perks.

Turtle I mean, I know what you’re doing they’re just listing good weapons to kill wasps as well, but every single one of those weapons well properly spec like when you compare to the difference between the shredder, or I me when you showed the shredder right after the auto wax, Machado did not look impressive And that’s just unrealistic and I felt fingers changed whenever properly SPECT with the shredder you drop those super moon and sailor sport jacket but I mean there’s not even time for them to react in our gym on our front of those weapons require certain specs, even if they can be used efficiently without rushing into them The shredder doesn’t have a lot of puffs and needs power armor with mom. What are the car anti-armor bumpers? I can’t think of it out of my head right now that’s that’s like one of the most important Balstad weapon gets so using them on suspect also the difference between those weapons for instants as example do you can use the auto acts or the chain farm on Sprague and in regular armor, you cannot get as much out of the shredder that way so people might be confused about a lot of these weapons that you’re doing this like totally unspecced

I always went off past games and the railway never used heavy guns. It went off its receiver in past games. I'm not sure about now though but I believe it's still receiver based.
