Thanks for keeping us informed. Likely your videos that are being demonetized are those that are related to dropping off the grid completely or prepping for THE big one. LOL I need help and will give you a call.

Thanks for the video. I had no idea about the pressure switch with low pressure cutoff. I think I'll put one on my pastures water system. since I only go out there a few times a week, I've been worried about burning up the pump if anything started leaking.

Can you do or have you done a video on this pressure switch, with do's and don'ts as to adjusting it, is it possible 2 adjusted to the extreme and override the safety shut off by accident?, perhaps a close-up, well-lit video of an installation... I am driving today but this weekend I will be searching through your videos again, always looking for new content from your Channel

Welcome back Scott! Is there any way you can put out a video differentiating between these in-well pumps versus above-ground pumps that are more common in my (lower ALA) area? I have looked through your videos but have not found one highlighting these types of pumps...and how to set the powering of them...and any support equipment.

Sorry to be blunt about this but as an engineer (nit picky about the details) it would have been helpful showing how/where the pressure switch connects to the system as well as showing how the pressure tank hooks up. When the weather breaks I am finally going to get my well working but wasn’t aware I needed a pressure tank or where to install it. Can you provide this information with “ALL THE DETAILS”. Thanks!!!

I'm having trouble deciding what pump would be best for my off grid homestead. The well is 378' static level is 328' when they ran the well test they said the flow was 9.5 gpm. They used a 1-1/2 gpm Franklin pump and said the well produced more than the pump could pump. They recommended a grundfos 5sq10-410 but they wanted 1700.00 for it. I did some research and found it cheaper. My question is should I go to maybe a 10 gpm instead of the 5 gpm? I want to have plenty of water flow in case of fire. Thanks and glad to see your back.
@dancross44446 жыл бұрын
The Hands On Channel Maybe use a slower less expensive pump to pump to a cistern. Or maybe a water tower and have gravity feed so you would have some flow even if your power is low or not working.

What makes Honda stuff better than other brands? Always been curious...
@engineer7756 жыл бұрын
Paul Gareau in my opinion it is been Honda's ability to master the science of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Their ability to take an assembly of parts and control their tolerance stack-up has made them the best small engine manufacturer bar none. If you can consistently make great Parts within their tolerances you're going to win.

Scott, Ive been looking at the Grundfos for pumping from a cistern that is spring fed. Its a 1000 gallon concrete tank about 4’ deep. Can i lay this on the bottom? How do you secure the pump in the bottom of a cistern, just PVC?

Is there a rational for two sets of check valves and run dry protection, I might do that if there was some known reliability problem, is there?
@waylonhartwell6 жыл бұрын
Have you done a video installing one of these in a cistern I'm kind of wondering how it would work underground concrete cistern and if you could put it on a flexible hose ranges on it or do you mount it to the bottom of the tank somehow

I have a question regarding a shallow well pump running off a modified sign wave inverter. I am currently running a 10,000 watt modified inverter and a 1/2 hp red lion shallow well pump. If I am running off the generator it runs perfectly. When running off my inverter the pump starts up fine but after building up a little pressure above the 30 psi kick in the pump starts to chatter ( cutting out and instantly restarting) my old cheap harbor freight pump didn't have this issue. I tried changing out the pressure switch thinking that was the problem and no luck. I am at a loss as to changing out the pump or other things to try. If I do change out the pump I'm wondering what to goto that would run well with a modified sign wave inverter. The well is roughly 16' deep with a 36" sand point.

I have a question re a shallow well. It's about 25 ft from my house, and I would like to move the bladder tank and pump into my house. Tired of it freezing, neighbors jacking with wiring, etc. Is it possible? I have no problem with water pressure where it is. water table less than a foot underground most of the year. Any input would be appreciated.

I do like most of your video's , however being a 4th generation water well driller/tech. most of your videos like this one is mostly wrong info. I go behind a lot of customers that have saw videos like this one and that have followed advice from the web and what they are doing is costing them more money in the long run which defeats the purpose of what you are trying to do, not to mention the fact that most know nothing about electricity which in return could get them killed or disfigured . So please people if you are wanting to have a well drilled or a new system installed called a professional. A professional will cost you more up front but in the long run will save you thousands . I see it all the time, systems lasting for 2-5 yrs . instead of 25 yrs.....Call your local companies that are knowledgeable about the wells in your areas and the system that will be right for you.
@engineer7756 жыл бұрын
twobitsmith1 really? Wrong info? How so? I have systems installed in wells, springs, rain catchment and in many states. I am so busy because 4th generation well guys do not understand inverters and modern alternative power systems and blindly install 1 hp pumps with very high startup currents and overcharge their customers. ??? Please explain yourself.
