Suggesting French Muscadet / Melon de Bourgogne as definite contender for white wines for beginners, since being very smooth and easy to drink.

Great suggestion. I love me some Muscadet, especially with some oysters! Thanks for watching and happy holidays. 🍷

I used to drink a bottle of wine a week and that one id down that in one sitting but not fast and it is good once the acquired taste has developed. Taste good tbh

Been buying my chardonnay from Aldi and lidl and occasionally Asda allways less than £5 a bottle allways 13% strength allways drinkable and tasty. Glad i dont know too much about white wines or i might have to think again on price and pay double but not sure what you get when you pay double???
@wine-living Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching John! Budget wines from Aldi and ASDA are great, nothing wrong with with a good value. But I do find that if you go a little higher, the quality is noticeably better. At about $12-15 you'll see a marked improvement in taste and texture. I know Tesco is supposed to have a good selection, check there!?! Good luck and feel free to report back what's you learned... 🥂

Hi All! Coming in a bit late this week, but great for the weekend warm-up... a primer for those of you who drink Chardonnay but don't know much about it. What style do you prefer, and which brands? Post below!!

The easiest CA brands to find are Toasted head, J. Lohr, St. Francis or Kendall Jackson. Hope that helps.🍷

Thanks for the insight on Chardonnay. I tend to be a red wine drinker (out of preference) however I am open to drinking anything that is on the go whether it is part of a wine pairing experience or provided by the host/hostess. I've been at functions where I have offered to buy a friend or a colleague a drink and if it's white wine sometimes the preference is followed with "Remember ABC--anything but Chardonnay.) I don't know if you've ever heard that term, Marc, but if you have, perhaps you would be able to dispel this old adage. Thanks, Darryl

I had a really super cheap Chardonnay once, and I swear it actually had artificial butter flavoring in it 🤮
@wine-living4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, those low-level wines are typically overcompensating to cover up flaws in quality. It is not unheard of to add oak powder and other flavor additives to make up for low production values. Do you remember what the brand was, or where you had the wine?
@kevglass49243 жыл бұрын
I like co-op Chardonnay so much that I put my thing in its thing after I've drank it. Women love the smell and it's only 4.99

@@wine-living It was from one of those companies that send you monthly boxes of wine. They were all *terrible* , I cancelled after the first month. Can't remember the name of the wine itself.

U don't actually need to do this. White wine is quite f****** approachable. In fact, people should start in wine with white wine only.
