You said it, Sister! 👍 NTM the quality is almost always better… like WAY better. So, technically you’re really not spending more money. You’re just spending more money at first. But, with this instant gratification generation, they don’t see it that way. That’s why this country is dead, and the only way to resurrect Her is with another Civil War and tactical assassinations of traitors in media and politics… boy, that went South fast, didn’t it? Lol. But, it’s the truth. The stabilization of this country depends on making things here in the US, instead of selling out to the CHICOMS

This reminds me a lot ( probably do to the color ) of the old US ARMY OG-108 wool field shirt. It's only an 80% wool and is probably not as comfortable as the Moreno, but you can find them NOS surplus for as low as $20 for later 70's vintage examples. The 1st pattern from the 50's is thicker I guess, but I wouldn't be surprised if the 2nd pattern is very comparable to wool shirts available today. If anyone likes the looks of this, wants American made , but doesn't want to spend a lot I'd look into the OG-108 wool field shirt.

Here's my particular beef, and the only brand I can think of not guilty of this is Tom Bihn. If you're making things in a factory in America, they're still being made by immigrants from countries where they would otherwise be made. There is no american high school to skilled garment making pipeline. As an immigrant, I'm tired of the typical "not made in america" comments that subtly substitute "american" for "white." A lot of brands play up to this imagery by using tons of american flags in their advertising but never broadcasting, praising, or uplifting their workers.
@rustyshackleford173 жыл бұрын
"Veteran owned, American made." Clearly shows a factory full of Mexicans. Sadly, this shit is all too common.
@samwroblewski7483 жыл бұрын
I don’t think that bothers anyone. Unless you’re buying boutique and custom, you’re buying from a factory and factories tend not to be majority white. Buying American is more about keeping taxable dollars in country and having the promise of humane labor standards
@GatorAidMedical3 жыл бұрын
@@samwroblewski748 I'm not sure either of those points can be verified at a large scale. Remittances from immigrant US workers to other countries remain a large portion of those countries' GDP, and humane labor standards may be legally encoded but who can say if they're tired from working another one or two jobs? Made in america remains a niche purchasing category for clothes. It's nice to do, but realistically impossible @ my wage.
@samwroblewski7483 жыл бұрын
@@GatorAidMedical labor standards are contained to single employers. So unless these factories are entirely staffed with contractors (not likely) they are subject to state inspection and labor laws. If people are working multiple legitimate jobs they are still being protected under labor law.
@logmeindog2 жыл бұрын
To me, there is no difference in supporting a legal immigrant working in a US factory and a American working in a US factory. The immigrants obviously have a better prospect than in their native origin and they are just as lucky as those born in the USA. I chose to support both over third-world labor. Third-world labor gets plenty of business in today's throw-away culture.

The excuse I received from a supposed supervisor after my 3rd call as to why they hadn't processed my return was that they have had many returns of late, really, deal with it because in case you weren't aware of the fact returns are part of the game and holding on to your customers money will cause you to loose customers as you just have with my case. I honestly think they must have CASH FLOW problems because no business goes out of their way to flush their customers down the toilet. Ordered a shirt from Johnson's Woolen Mills, all plus shipping came to 200$. Parcel was stolen or delivered to wrong address so never received it. Atrocious customer service from Johnson's as they did not do anything and kept stringing me along for weeks by encouraging me to "raise it with the post office" and refusing to spell out their policy for cases like these. E-mailed them almost 10 days ago, after many messages on Facebook, to tell them that the post office rejected my claim and they disappeared. I guess I just ate 200$ for a shirt that's MIA. Avoid at all costs as if anything goes wrong, you are on your own. Plus their shipping fees are extremely higher than all the others. On the other hand, Duckworth customer care is stellar.
@KimballPrecision11 ай бұрын
It’s not the companies responsibility once it leaves their possession. If the right address was on the parcel, and it was insured, they did everything they can. Everything else is on you and the post office. Obviously it would be nice of them to just send you a free shirt, but you shouldn’t expect that, as it is 0% their fault it disappeared/was stolen.

How about how to care for this? It’s not something you want to toss in the washer and dryer and dry cleaning is crazy expensive for a shirt like this.

Well luckily you don't have to wash it as much as cotton, but it's still not as easy to clean unfortunately.

Why are the pockets ALWAYS TOO SMALL for me to get more than a few fingers? I wish there were more shirts with Napoleon pockets.

guessing they couldn't keep up with their success because everything they make is like half polyester now. I'll just go to wallmart if I wanted to wear plastic.

they’re fabric compositions have never changed. Duckworth Vapor tees have always been 38% Merino wool 50% American polyester 12% Modal. Another example, The Duckworth Polaris shirt is 80% Merino Wool 20% American Polyester The Sawtooth shirt in this video is 100% Merino wool. Duckworth is an honest family owned company with a very loyal following. Grown Spun Knit & Sewn in the USA Good luck at Walmart 😏
