The Beta band 'It's Not Too Beautiful' Live NPA 1999

The Beta's were something special. This is an excellent live TV performance and an unusual choice of song. They were always incredible live. The first time i caught them was in 1998, just after The Patty Patty Sound Ep had been released, in Edinburgh's LaBelle Angele, when they performed the 8 songs from the two Ep's released to that date and i seem to remember 'Needles in my Eyes' being performed that night too. I was absolutely blown away, i'd never heard anything like it before and i was hooked. I managed to see them another 9 times, including their final ever gig at The Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh. That was emotional.
