Anyone that is scared for their life that should her family be found and it was discovered that they knew and didn't come forward, their family would be endangered too. Or it could have been someone that agreed with the Nazi regime. Either way but the first one doesn't make them an awful person. It just makes them a human with very human fears. The life of someone unrelated to you or the life of your spouse and children? It's not a hard choice when you get down to it

The question is who betrayed Anne Frank first? The annex was after the Frank family tried to sail to America to escape persecution. And the United States turned their boat around.

I recall in the movie "The Diary of Anne Frank." The betrayal of Anne was dramatized as a cadre of Nazis talking to someone on the street. That person pointed to the annex. This scene was used as the pretext for her discovery and arrest. What can be said of Ann except through her writing and observations she was indeed a star child. ❤️ You Ann.

Your title says the betrayal is revealed. But nothing more is revealed than was already known. You were trying to make it appear as if it was now known who. I won’t click on another of your videos now that I know it’s click bait.

ok so here’s the story for sum people that don’t know Anne Frank is a Jewish girl living an normal life just doing random kid stuff. But when WW2 Broke, she had to go hide and people were shooting and stuff, she had a VERY big house including the base, the base is where she hid, it was a bookshelf but if you opened it it had almost like everything just like a normal house but taller, and it had a lot of stuff like beds for her and her family, the bookshelf was an attic but they made the most out of it, you might wanna go search up ‘Anne Frank’s House’ so while she was staying there, she wrote in a book it was a diary and she wrote about stuff of what’s going on and now it’s a book! Go check it out and her neighbors downstairs were giving her and her family food everyday. byeee

I feel like I heard somewhere that Miep said to stop worrying about who betrayed them. It was desperate times and we will truly never understand the actions of the people during their situation. We could never understand. It is remarkable that Anne truly believed "that people are really good at heart". Someone who experienced the things she experienced. Being driven into hiding by the Nazi party and hearing all the horrific things that were happening to people just because Hitler did not like them and yet Anne still believed people to be good at heart. I find her inspiring, and I have also come to believe that "people are really good at heart". We all want to be happy. We all are striving to create the best life for ourselves and for the people around us who we love, we all just have different views or ideas what that happiness may look like. We all just want the best. May we all strive to see the very best in people as Anne Frank did.

In school we read a book called "The Diary of Anne Frank" which was the script of a play (and also a movie from the 50s) so idk if this is 100% true but basically... They were in hiding and they heard noises downstairs, Mr. Frank went down to check it out while the others stayed behind. In the book Peter knocks over a lamp which made a loud noise and scared the person away. Otto then told them that it was a theif stealing money from Ottos businesses and so its believed that the theif told the Nazis about the noise So it wasnt a betrayal but it was a pretty shitty thing to do

Bep's sister Nelly betrayed them. She was a Nazi collaborator, and she knew about the Frank family and the others being hidden in the annex. Nelly's nephew wrote a book about this. The newest investigation by a former FBI agent believes it was a notary named Arnold van den Bergh betrayed them. I don't think that is true. It was obviously Nelly.

I’d suggest you read or watch the diary of Anne Frank as it gives a good idea of what happened. I’m pretty sure (just a theory) It was a man who used to work for Mr. Frank, and if I recall he wanted money. If the money wasn’t paid, he would tell everyone their hiding place.
@suefergusson5351 Жыл бұрын
Think of it this way, Arnold betrayed them, to save his and his family, But Ann Frank won in the end, by becoming a renouned writer, Arnold and family were arrested anyway. Ann and Margaret and their family will live on forever, thru her diaries, even though the dided of Typhus (pronounced Tie-phus) [NOT Te-phus or ti-phus!!!!!]

The truth was, sadly, it could only have been a matter of time before they were discovered. Nobody could keep up a thing like that forever. Sooner or later something would go wrong, or someone would tumble to it and turn them in. It’s a marvel it lasted as long as it did - two years.

My theory on who betrayed her was probably Jan Gies (husband of Miep Gies aka Hermine Santrouschitz.) Jan also went by Dirk, but thats not important. I think the betrayer was Jan Gies because there was a group called The Dutch Resistance, and there was an anonymous Dutch phonecall, and Jan Gies was Dutch, but thats just my theory on the betrayer. I believe Jan made the Dutch Resistance, and told someone that they gave up their Annex. We talked about this at school in ELA and it had a bunch of details adding up to the person who betrayed the Frank Family, and the Van Pels/Van Daans fanily.
