they are transliteratedt, and for things like Japanese, Korean, and other Asian languages if they can be write as kanji loc just use the kanji directly so there is no such "original" stuff

Japanese kanji uses same letters as Chinese, so Kiryu (桐生) is directly read as Tong Sheng in chinese. Laodi cuz Majima is older than Kiryu and Kiryu always call Majima no niisan, which is big bro anyway.
