Well no, because Max isn'r annoying.
@IpekBAkdag3 ай бұрын
I partially agree since Max is the main character's best friend just like Joey. However, Max was intelligent and a skilled blader whereas Joey's deck relied on luck most of the time. Max's power was almost equal to other bladebreakers but Joey was obviously incompetent against Kaiba. I honestly think plot armor carried Joey to top 3 duelists and again the plot armor did dirty to Max and Rei because Takao/Tyson and Kai were obviously the main protagonists of the show.

I always felt Max's mom was cruel in this arc. Using her own son as an unwilling guinnea pig to forward her own career gains and berates her son and his team as "You are inferior to our scientifically cheated I mean created team." Then goes on to ask her own son to forfeit as he has little hope of winning... then says "We can go back to being mother and son after her team wins." Like she might have had nice moments but as a mother, she was horrible to Max and his friends.
@milkystar89509 ай бұрын
For real! I feel like my moment of “ Wow, Max’s mom is kind of a [bleep], sheesh!”, after initially giving her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she’s just one of those people who takes their job seriously to a fault, was how she reacted when Max nearly got split in half by the glass wall in the lab (due to him setting off the security alarm running towards her). You’d imagine that at the very least she’d have a moment of motherly concern and panic because you know, she nearly watched her son get hurt (or killed) in front of her, right? But no - Judy just stares at Max (and the BladeBreakers), basically tells Emily “Welp, they have to find their own way out of the lab, I can’t help them.” [like she can’t be bothered with this right now] and leaves the room, while poor Max is banging on the glass, calling out to her.
@podgemac4599 ай бұрын
@@milkystar8950 I know right. Like she tones down after this arc but still. She just comes across as snobby and arrogant with no concern for her son who as he said something along the lines of "I just want her to see me." Even through all of it Max is super adult and mature to bite the bullet for her.
@justdemi25859 ай бұрын
@@milkystar8950 There's a scene that was cut off where Max basically yells aand calls out for his mom while hitting the glass wall while Judy just ignores him, I felt horrible watching that
@jreprajanex59128 ай бұрын
@@justdemi2585 And given that she's never home, always away working on her team, for her to come off like that FROM THE VERY FIRST TIME WE SEE HER makes her stand out as not a good person entirely. She seems morbidly happy to ignore her own son only to give all her attention to kids that ain't even hers. We need more of Max telling her off for her own negligence, there really is no excuse. She showed her hand, she isn't doing this for her son in the slightest, and her being proud of him at the end seems more tacked on then anything because she never saw his growth or struggles to get to that point. Because she ultimately never cared.

1:09 I do adore how the building is shaped like a top, the world needs to know that this is where _top science_ is being made. Also 1:29 I wish that instead of a bunch of kids in this shot, we had a bunch of grumpy military men hovering over big bowls with battle tops made for children in their hands. You know, for the sake of national security. 3:16 I guess the sub lore could be stretched a bit to find a middle ground, by saying that the beasts were artificially created in a lab. 6:48 It is amazing to me that he doesn't shoot his beyblade out of a _finger gun_ launcher, given what censorship was like. The idea of launching a beyblade with gunpower is pretty hardcore not gonna lie, it reminds me of how some fiction works have like a katana be shot out of its sheath via a gun-like mechanism for a cool fast sword draw, you can't go wrong with shooting impractical non-bullet things out of guns. 10:07 So if they overcame that and they are that strong now, does that mean that this time the antagonists are 25 times stronger than our heroes were back then? Or is everyone consistently just 5 times stronger? Maybe the crew needs to get 5 times stronger themselves, then a lot of these problems will be avoided. 12:18 That is indeed such a sweet line, love her for it. Max's arc is very good. This was a fun one, looking forward to the next and your other videos!

Thank you for this, i love beyblade, used to tune them up and work a lot on mines, even my friends requested me to upgrade theirs. The most vivid memory i have, and also the last time, was a tournament that an store within my city held, to be honest i am from a poor country so only 4 people registered in the tournament, and 2 of those were me and my sister, my sister decided to join with a unmodified beyblade Wolborg 4 (Tala's beyblade), i went with a modified bayblade, a mix up between dragoon, draciel and custom weight disk, among the other 2 players i spotted a guy from my same school, i noticed he was also using an original default beyblade and was going against me, so since i didn't wanted him to feel bad for joining i did gave him an extra weight disk i had with me, which gave his beyblade enough power to beat me one round, but then i beat him the other 2 rounds, he still had fun and did thank me for giving him the weight disk. Unfortunately my sister, who refused to use any of my disk's got crushed by him for the second place xD, but it was a nice experience, i wish those tournaments could had happen more officially within my country, or i wish i was born in US to attend to the big ones...

I think it's interesting that the way the American institutions work in this show is later reflected quite darkly in the Russia arc. Sure, Judy's facility is overly focused on the science of making the perfect blade and blader combo, while excluding the spirit that the boys represent, but at least they indulge their bladers' other interests and hobbies. But when we get to the Russia arc, we see them training a creepy abbey that seems designed to strip away the trainees' individuality, and they go as far as turning Tala into a cyborg after their initial plan- get Kai to wield the incredibly powerful Black Dranzer for them- goes off the rails. The Russian team indulges in similar dirty tactics to the All-Starz, giving themselves the home field advantage on every fight, but they go even further and pull shit like stealing Max's Bit-Beast ahead of the battle so that Kai will be forced to take his place, and _then_ forcing Kai to fight on a water-based field against a water-elemental opponent. And even that might be a double-layered scheme on Voltaire's part to put Kai's back against the wall and force him to accept Black Dranzer again in order to overcome his opponent.

I found that outro amusing, I know it was TheDigiKnow's spin on the expression "no I in Team," by using Kai's name. But the letter Kai is the Roman character that looks like an X. Also, back in the time this series was running, back in the early 2000s internet days, I also learned that the name Kai means "Fiery" in Celtic; while most people these days, and probably back in the early days, just took it as a Japanese name that wasn't changed for the dub, I like to think of it as the creators of the series keeping the multicultural aspects of Beyblade, with Kai having what looks like a common Japanese name that also has ties to an older western language; especially with Dranzer having a Fire element to it.

They really did handle Max's arc surprisingly well. I particularly love how they gave Max a defensive win, something that often gets overlooked in conflicts like this. And while I agree, it might seem that the 'custom launcher' is what the Semi-Secret Government Funded Research Institute seemed to focus on, I took it as more a 'America's Bey-culture focuses on bladers finding a focus interest and putting their blades into it'. Later when the football player ger replaced by anohter character this new character was realeased and it was called Rock Bison while Emily bey, Trygator, only had it 2.0 upgrade release as a random piece from booster packs in japan.
