I found Tara Leigh thru Morning Cruise onThe Joy FM here in FL. I've never read the bible. I was raised catholic, went to church every Sunday, attended a catholic school in the Philippines. I completed TBR the day before yesterday. Yesterday, I started a different reading plan. The only I reading plans i could find was straight scripture. So, I decided to start TBR again. It is the difference between drinking broth and a steak dinner. I truly value the commentary, suggested articles, and videos . This makes learning so much richer. Here we go again! Praise God!

@Sharon, I absolutely love TBR!!! It helped me read the entire Bible my first time through! There’s also Heart Dive, which also had daily, excellent commentary in case you want something slightly different. 😊

This has been an engaging, easily scheduled journey to strengthen my understanding and faith. I am finally making my way steadily through the Old Testament at the age of 70. Truly grateful for this ministry.

Once in Bible school, and other times, by April, May or June, I stop and pick up my reading in January the next year. So, it has taken 2+ years, 3+years, and longer. @Joshua, I’m super excited for you!! When I first went through the Bible, I had so many questions, and in Genesis, I was spending upwards of two hours a day trying to figure things out. 😆 Thankfully, while still in Genesis, I was blessed to find TBR, and I just started listening to her, which answered many questions, and I decided to let my others questions go my first round through and just absorb what I can and get an overview. It was amazing to be able to see the forest through the trees at the very end. Many days, if I was too tired to read, I’d just listen to an audio version and then follow up with Tara-Leigh. Thanks to your other encouraging reply to me, I think I’ll start doing that again! I’m so excited for you, I hope it goes so well. And no worries if you miss some days here and there. It ended up taking me 13 months to finish. God bless you!! 🙏🏻

A dear friend sent me an invite which I only saw weeks after they'd started. I didn't lose heart but joined in at my own pace. Thank you TLC for taking us step by step and providing well researched knowledge with commentary that helps paint a clearer picture. I've been using the SOAP method for bible study for years...but when I heard you speak on the CCB podcast, i felt convicted for always looking for my application. @tara-leigh you may want to mention and tell people the options on the "gears" icon here at KZbin to allow the user to slow down/speed up your videos. Because, for me, you speak too quickly for my comprehension. I listen at 75 percent here and 90 percent in pod bean. Also there is a close captioning option here which I use sometimes. Thanks for helping those who watch your videos here learn a way to experience them taking into consideration personal needs.

Interestingly enough....I was never able to get through the Bible reading a physical Bible but I've been successful multiple times reading it on my phone. So the Bible App has been an amazing resource for me for years now! I'm looking forward to taking my next trip through the Bible with TBR! I am trying to convince someone to take the trip with me this time so I haven't started yet, but whether it's tomorrow or January..... whether it's solo or with a partner or group .... I'm excited about it!

Thank you Tara for making the trip to the Bible and wonderful trip to read I have been a Christian since 1997 I grew up Mormon and I had to find the true faith and that was in Jesus Christ I’m glad I found it in God‘s word. I have been reading the Bible since I was a little kid but now I get excited when I read Karen’s word and I’m glad for a totally blind person like me I can listen to the Bible I have a Bible on audio cd as well which helps out a lot I am so thankful for God‘s word it has helped me a lot through depression and suicide and all the dark things including being assaulted and marriage annulment and stuff like that I am grateful to God and his word thank you so much for doing what you do.

I think it's important to note when choosing a Bible that we will never have a word-for-word translation because the Old Testament was told and retold for thousands of years before it was written down. Choosing a Bible version we connect with will help us connect better to God.

I love the NLT (New Living Translations), because I can easily understand it, and it's still an accurate version. I'd love to do a word-for-word, but I feel like I miss out on the meaning too often when reading those--with the NLT, I get the meaning the first time!

In the beginning where it all started. What I find interested is that the devil is aware of what evil is and still chooses to be that way. He told Eve as the serpent that if she eats the fruit, she will know good and evil. It's interesting because when I think of a wild animal such as a crocodile or lion. I don't think animals know the difference between good and evil; they, however, react from their nature. Those wild animals can eat and attack a human being without feeling guilty about it, even if the human is a newborn baby. The devil does evil and is aware of what evil is; meanwhile, wild animals attack but don't know evil.
