Would really like to see more physical barriers dividing the car traffic from the bikes, but this looks like a good start.

I totally agree. I hope it will become a more normalized urban planning practice as time goes on. Just seeing the red lanes warms my heart:)

This needs to become the standard. An effective check is if you would let your 5 year old bike on the path. The strip in the beginning of the video does not even come close to passing this basic test the Dutch bike infrastructure rarely fail. It is sad that this is the bike standard for new development in Oslo.

I disagree, these bike paths are good enough for streets with low speeds and not too much traffic. Especially as car driver seem to respect the bike lanes and don't cross it or park on it. The big problem I see are the intersections, those should be more like the Dutch do them. It is strange that they got it right for pedestrians and wrong for bikes.

Great planning and infrastructure. I am currently enjoying riding my bike in Oslo. Keep up the good work! Oslo is a beautiful city. Bikes are a great way to commute inside and outside the city.

Yo Norwegians, build more of that "pilot project" that grade separates the road, bike lane, and sidewalks. That's the next great step in improving the bike network and keeping bikers off the roads and sidewalks alike. These fancy painted bicycle gutters are merely a good starting point.

There's more of them elsewhere. Try biking in my home city of Trondheim.

Thanks for great video and mainly for all that great work being done! I lived in Oslo for half a year in 2013, rode my bike around and it's really wonderful to see how much is the city changing for the better! 🙂 Cheers from Brno, where we're also working on street space reallocation.

Excelente video. Aquí en México estamos avanzando un poco lento en cuanto a infraestructura ciclista, sin embargo esperamos poder gozar pronto de una ciudad mejor planeada y que contemple a los ciclistas y a los peatones, quienes son los más vulnerables. Gran proyecto. Felicidades.

This is awesome. The abundance of red asphalt reminds me so much of the Netherlands. Are there any similar developments in other Norwegian cities, like Bergen, Tromsø, etc.?

It is a good start to get people into cycling, but it needs a lot of work still.

Yes a lot of the bigger citys have red bike lanes.

There are lots of pedestrian paths in Tromsø, but no red bike lanes like in this video.

Honestly I feel like it's better to bike in Trondheim then what I'm seeing in this video. Trondheim definitely isn't perfect. But there's a lot of separate bike routes where you don't feel any fear of traffic at all as those routes are separated.

Den bussen kloss ved sykkelveien er ikke bra! Spør deg selv: er det slik i Amsterdam?

Jeg tror at cykelstierne i København er lidt bredere. På den måde slipper man for at snitte en bil med venstre albue.

Could you please make an English over-voice of this video? Because it is very hard to read subtitles and the same time to watch and notice street details you are talking about.
@Luredreier

I believe this is intended for a Norwegian audience. We're lucky to have a subtitle in the first place to be honest. Also, here in Norway we use subtitles in all video material instead of dubbing, all foreign movies for kids above the age of 6 or so etc. So unless it's specifically made for a English speaking audience... What you can try is to click on the cogwheel and lower the speed of the video, that's usually helpful when reading subtitles. Alternatively pause the video. The subtitles remain on the screen. I do that a lot because my hearing isn't the best.

24:09 daamn! De kræsja nesten, den svarte reagerte fort. Den gule skulle jo ha viket for møtende trafikk
