The fact is if Taylor blew the whistle on the foul directly infront of his face Chelsea win the game. End of story. Doesnt matter if they made other mistakes. Nobody plays a perfect game. If you don't acknowledge that Taylor stole the points for spurs, you are being a fan. That is Matisse's point. For some reason nobody ever wants to admit that refereeing resulted in the wrong result. It's utterly reasonable that this can happen, and it does. But people want to be "proper football men" and more importantly don't want to allow a rival that truth. Havertz wasn't fouled as Bentancur got a touch on the ball, they showed several different angles of that. The first equaliser was questionable because of Richarlison interfering with play from an offside position which is true, for me shouldn't have stood. The second goal shouldn't have happened if Romero was upended for pulling Cucurella's fro, would've been a freekick to Chelsea and not the second corner which was the goal. I say this as a Spurs fan.
