Sheldon and Howard had that Cartman and Kyle relationship from South Park. They were frenemies but in all fairness, he was like that with Penny as well and they squashed it in this season. I do enjoy Sheldon and Howard battle, I can't wait to see Season 6, when Sheldon got Howard back lol. That's all I can say. And the fact that Bernadette was actually the only one in the group that explained Sheldon's situation said a lot. I know Leonard, Raj, and Howard didn't expect to know that, but they was coming up with multiple solutions to get a better understanding in the past seasons, and apparently they never knew that was his main problem, the whole time. Amy knew because she used to act like him, so she understood him off rip. Penny even understood Sheldon more in this season and later on. Notice how everytime Sheldon say something obnoxious, Penny laughs and smirks instead of making a face like she used to do. Because she related to him and realized that they had that in common. Everybody knows Penny is just as obnoxious lol

"Who owns that many belt buckles?" Not really a nerd quirk, it's just a Howard quirk, like the turtle necks. (Like, the man lives in California, you'd think he'd be sweating at least part of the year)

The way the characters all dress is crazy. Raj ALWAYS wears an undershirt, shirt, sweater vest and a jacket. Four layers, in Pasadena, year round? Was he anemic or something?

According to "Young Sheldon", Sheldon does have a very particular reason why he hates on engineering so much. A rather personal, petty reason at that, that relates to what you said about "real-world applications vs theoretical".

@@olavihekandjo2928 prestige which Howard does not care about. He has reached the maximum education for his field. A doctorate would be overkill and boasting on his part. Not to mention a waste of money. No university or grant commission is going to approve a doctorate for an engineer so he'd have to pay out his own pocket
