It's this scene where you can really sympathize with Sheldon in a way, everything he's gotten used to for so long is changing in a way even someone as smart as him can't adapt to and it's really shaking him up, so his best solution is to run away from it all to work things out, I can definitely sympathize with him because this happened to me too

Not everything was changing. Heck in the beginning of the episode he himself tried to initiate a change (he wanted to change his field from Theoretical Physics to Dark Matter) but the university wouldn't let him due to his contract. If anything, there is no change in regards to his job status. So yeah, his argument of "everything is changing" is flawed. He's only ticked because things didn't go his way (as usual) and he reached his breaking point (which is still rather low by the end of the series).

@@jdbm Changing a field of research in Physics was never a great deal for Sheldon, it was the day to day stuff that he doesn't like changing. It's like he can handle every change in his job but after when he gets home, he needs a constant in his life that can be his comfort zone, everyone wants that. For him it was comic book store, his friends, himself and bunch of other stuff. The most important things that you want constant get changed drastically, it overwhelms you a lot! Maybe to you it was small, for a high functioning autistic like Sheldon it is probably way too much considering he doesn't even change his bowel movememnts unless it's an emergency!

Same Seeing how many symptoms of mine were similar to Sheldon, including the dislike of any kind of change, forced me to admit that just like my psychiatrist said, I had an Asperger syndrom (not as strong as Sheldon, though : I developed mechanisms of adaptation to kinda tame my Asperger symptoms)

Something that always bothered me about this is that Leonard saw Sheldons reaction to what was happening as an overeaction and him being dramatic when in reality Sheldon thought he was loosing his best friend, so many things were changing at once and it was extremely overwhelming for him. But no-one seemed to understand that and only critized him for it. Even in a later episode when Leonard tells Sheldon that the last time he brought up moving 'You had a breakdown and ran away'. Leonard spends so much time with Sheldon but can never truly understand how he feels and only treats him like a crazy person for having said feelings :(
