We all love Bob, but what did he prophecy? Call him a 'messenger', fine, he carried the message of Ras Tafari. His first name is Nesta, Nesta Robert Marley. Nesta means Messenger.

I’ve loved Bob Marley all my life. Since my early teens. At first I didn’t understand him. I was just a white kid on the west coast of Scotland that liked to get high and really only enjoyed Bob for his music. We used to sit during summer in the ruins of this old castle getting high looking out across the river Clyde while listening to Bob on our ghetto blaster. As I got older I started to understand Bob and Rastafarianism a little bit more. Anytime I listen to Bob it takes me back to those hazy summers getting high in the ruins of this old castle while listening to the music of the most famous Rasta to have ever drawn breath. To this day I still feel a strong connection to this place. Many of the best memories I have where made there. I started looking in to Rastafarianism and what it meant and that lead me to start looking in to the life of Haile Selassie. I also started looking in to the history of this old castle in who’s ruins we would hang out in listening to Bob. I found out it was not a true medieval castle which I found a little disappointing. It was just some rich guys mansion made to look like a castle. It was called “Castle Wemyss” and was built in the mid 1800’s in Wemyssbay Scotland and had many famous guests over the years including British Royalty. It absolutely blew my mind to find out only a couple of years ago that Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie I himself visited and stayed in Castle Wemyss in Wemyssbay in 1936! I couldn’t believe a being considered by many to be Jesus reborn, God incarnate stayed and walked in this place we loved. Sadly what remains of the ruins of this castle can no longer be accessed by the public and most of the ruins are gone but I still have the memories to keep its spirit alive
