My dad was a pastor and always welcomed everyone, mormóns, jehova whitnesses and anyone interested, some became Christians and others left with doubts of their religion, no doubt God used my father to preach and teach the true Gospel of Jesus, my God and Savior.

A wicked man on his deathbed and repents must pay the price for his actions weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. He must pay every farthing and then he will go to a place that Jesus has prepared for him. This horrific teaching of modern Christendom that all who go to hell go there for all eternity is absolutely incorrect and talks if a God the will punish forever with fire and brimstone. What a God is this that will leave you in hell forever. This is Christian doctrine and is absolutely incorrect
@briannorbury8840

It's not Latter Day Saint doctrine that teaches of God of mercy and just. You have to pay the price for wickedness which will be heavy BUT NOT FOR ALL ETERNITY. God is eternal but His justice will not punish for all eternity.

It is Latter Day Saint doctrine that teaches of a God of mercy and justice. You can't have a good man dying and going to the same place as a man dying and repenting on his deathbed. The latter still has to pay for his wickedness but not for all eternity (which is a false doctrine) because mercy cannot rob justice. After he has paid the price then he will be released and go to his mansion which of course will not be the same as that of a just man.

@@briannorbury8840 Stop preaching that false doctrine. Jesus beats everything you said with 3 words. “It is finished.” Jesus paid the fine in full. You know what else Mormon teaches? That you’ll be a god. You know who else said that? Satan, in the beginning of the Garden. Repent, there was no other God before YWYH, There will be NO other god after.

This was a really good segment. I used to be bound by Mormonism. It really twists up your mind and obfuscates the truth of Jesus Christ. The first several years of being saved, God helped me to re-wire my brain to see clearly. Ten years in, and I’m STILL finding errors in the way I think because of the brainwashing from that church. God is revealing himself to me, and I am so, so, so grateful. To God be the glory! Thank you Jesus for saving me and paying that precious price! Amen, Amen and Amen!!!!!

I’m glad you were saved from lies and found the one true God and true word! I currently live in Utah I’m not Mormon and I did not grow up in this state, I believe Mormonism also makes non-Mormons feel like outsiders, a form of segregation. I’ve seen this in the school systems where my son goes, they even push their doctrine into public schools. After numerous KZbin videos and listening to several former LDS I have a hard time listening to their beliefs and where they derived them from. Listening to people speak false doctrine has been hard for me as I grew up grounded in Holy Bible principles. I appreciate you speaking truth against The enemies lies!! I can truly relate to what you’re saying about the brainwashing of it, it’s evident!! My hope and prayer for the people of Utah is to come out of this doctrine, break it!!! I’m also praying that someday day soon that be a serious revival here!!

The young woman reminds me of myself as a devout member of the LDS faith. But changes began to happen in my mind when I began learning how to read the Bible alongside mature born again Bible-loving Christians. Over time, God gave me humility to see that I was holding onto very different meanings-unbiblical meanings-when using so many, many of the same words my Christian friends used. God placed Christian friends around me to teach me how the Bible explains sin, repentance and righteousness. God used mature Christians to show me how the Bible expresses clearly that the Jews believed in ONE God who is not created nor of the same human nature that we have. The nature and character of the God of Israel became so compelling and irresistible to me-even though I thought I had already loved Him my whole life. In time, I saw that the Bible clearly expresses that Jesus came to earth though He was the only Author there ever was to all of creation. And He was condemned to death on a cross for declaring that he was this one and only God in the flesh. God softened my heart to see so many ways that my LDS belief and mindset did not agree with Him or His word in the Bible about so many things. And He gave me a desire to get closer to Him and to want to agree with Him even though it meant walking away from stability, a 7 generation legacy of LDS faith and a lifetime of familiar fellowship and the security of my LDS community. Accepting Jesus as the God who gave me his perfect record was worth it. Yes, turning to this Jesus fully aware of my hopelessly sinful state, believing in his authority and power alone to be my righteousness was worth any loss. Knowing my one and only true Prophet, High Priest and King, and seeing that God’s plan for the temple of the Old Covenant was to tear it down and NOT to restore it with human hands but to raise Jesus as the only way to the face to face presence of our real Everlasting Father-was worth anything I have left behind. The Gospel of this Jesus changes everything. Gratefully praising the God who saves and changes hearts. Praying for all who walk in Christ, and preach His truth. Pleading on behalf of loved ones who He sees and can soften, teach and turn in spite of generational blindness, deception, and human frailty. To God our Savior, all glory.

I actually have some mormons coming to my house to speak a second time to my wife and I. I've been looking for what to say to them when they come as the first time they spoke to us and we asked them about differences they kind of deflected and told us to just pray about it. It's interesting as the Bible says to "test everything" with scripture. This will be useful, thanks Ray! Always love your work.

@@sanvirel6182 @Anthony Nettleton, @David Watts It was fine. They're super nice guys and we met about 4 times in total. With things they said about being married in heaven, being able to still be saved and accept the gospel after you die before judgment, and other things I would just bring up Bible verses and what Jesus said. "No one will be married or given away in marrige" when in heaven. And I said for Jesus to say this, but the book of mormon says otherwise would be calling Jesus a liar. I'd bring up the story of Lazarus and the Rich Man awaiting judgement and how he wanted water to cool his tongue and was in agony, but the mormons say it's a peaceful waiting place. They would get silent and always say "I encourage you to pray and ask God" but I would say that we're told to test everything against scripture. They said that people of other religions would go to heaven but not the best heaven which they say there's three different levels. But I would say Jesus says narrow is the gate/nobody comes to the father but through Him. But end of the day the two guys would just say "I KNOW this book is true and it has done great things for me and my family and I love it and think you should pray about it." I don't think they were open to listening and really looking into things. It must be devastating for a Mormon to leave the church since it is so deep in their family and circles of friends, it's got to be a hard hurdle to overcome for them when they reach it.

To the point it makes me emotional as I am surrounded by false converts and Jehovah’s witness’. It makes me emotional because I know I’m on the path to light. I’ve stopped my sexual immorality, not because I was told to but because on revelation on the life of Christ I absolutely feel revolted when I think of these sins. I’ve stopped fornicating with my girlfriend of 8 years , we’re getting married. I’ve stopped all of this not by instruction but by divine intervention on my heart. But I struggle, not with living a life like Christ, but being surrounded by people who are intoxicated with religion and not their relationship. Please help me

@User_Brandon
@User_Brandon 2 жыл бұрын
I keep making the same mistakes. I just want to remind you of how important it is to not hate yourself for committing sin again and again but do not give yourself a license to sin either. God cannot and WILL NOT go back on His promise to save those who are His. Keep trusting in Him and (if you already do and repent daily then you already are) set free. Remember that Jesus said to pluck out your right eye if it causes you to sin. So in simple words, He does not condone self mutilation but wants you to remove the triggers that cause you to sin. Remember that there is nothing to make God love you more because He already values you more than you already know (that is why He lived the perfect life that you and I and all of us never could live because of the Genesis curse and there is nothing you can do to make Him love you less because God loves the sinner but hates only the sin. John 3:16) I realize now that those who sin but also repent daily are on the right track because they are not letting themselves get away with sin any longer. Let me confess to you that I have discovered pornography at age 11, I'm in my 20's now and it was the result of the ending of my previous relationship a few years back because I couldn't get enough of sex, at the very least the somewhat good news is that it wasn't a relationship that was going to make it anyways because I did believe in God back then even in my very sinful days but she didn't and didn't want to. However, lust is still my prominent sin. For too long has lust been my god before God. I still am drawn to it but have improved but still cannot, no matter how hard I could ever try or desire to, hold up God's standard. That is why I desperately need a savior, in which only God himself fits that role because without him I am a dead man who lives. I'm praying for you. Also, do not forget that the Holy Spirit's job is to convict you whereas the devil's job is to condemn you, and make no mistake, he is very good at it. As Christians we have to feel sorry for sinning but if we let the guilt consume us we make a covenant with the devil and forget God's promise because any sin can and will be forgiven and eventually you will find yourself sinning less and less until you finally defeat it. Stay strong my sibling in Christ!!

I understand the confusion and concern. Paul did, too; read Romans 7! Teach yourself to abide in Jesus. He says to take every thought captive, to renew our minds and to wash with the water of the Word. David also says, "Thy Word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against Thee." So one of the keys to sanctification (ie, sinning less & becoming more Christlike after salvation) is by immersing ourselves in the Word and seeking understanding and God's assistance in obeying it. 🙏

Yeah, don't put souch emphasis on the bible anyway. Because it has been translated so many times, its full of errors and contradictions, so who knows if all of the sins/ laws are correct
@User_Brandon
@User_Brandon 2 жыл бұрын
@@thehappiestmanintheworld8328 If you take two individual quotes then you’ll find nothing but contradictons but the overall message is the same across the board. The Old Testament is about how God promises to destroy sin and the New Testament tells us how he did it. You have to read the whole Bible to understand. As for translations, yes it has been translated multiple times but that’s where the King James Bible comes in handy as it has always been regarded for being true to the original Hebrew (O.T) and Greek (N.T) texts. And the Bible should be emphasized because it’s God’s word. If you want to get the Bible in it’s purest form then you could try to learn Greek and Hebrew but this is where faith comes in. Think of it this way, how could God send us to condemnation if we weren’t aware of His law to the fullest extent? That wouldn’t be fair and He is more loving then that, so all we can do now is obey what we do know. God will not go back on His word to save those who are His. It is all down to faith because it is by grace through faith in Him in which we are saved, and not the at of ourselves so we may not boast

As a faithful Latter-day Saint I have tasted of God's grace and mercy; hence, it is difficult for me to understand why you didn't. Why did you join the Church if you had not received an answer to your prayers according to Moroni's promise. What is this they you allude to as a real relationship between grace and works~ the promises of the Lord are fulfilled as we follow Him and keep His commandments for as sure as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, we are blessed for our faith in and obedience to God.

I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling My message and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith would not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power. I trust in God promise and Jesus own words. Men distort the bible for personal pride, profit, and authority.

@Mekavio And you do realize why those things exist right? The root of it? It’s called sin. Sin is the reason why this world is fallen and corrupt. If you have read the book of Genesis before, you will know that it says that God created the heavens and the earth, plants, animals, humans. Everything was good. But as you read on, you read about how sin came into the world. And so you can’t blame God for our choices. If you truly hate those things, you would hate sin. Because that’s why suffering even exists. You and I are not good, we’re all equally guilty of breaking God’s moral law the 10 commandments. And so if you repent of your sins and turn from them, put your faith in Jesus Christ and what he did for you, you will be granted everlasting life ! One day God is gonna make things new. And sin, suffering, destruction, satan, etc. will be no more. But will you be apart of that ? Or will you end up in hell for refusing to accept the free gift of salvation. For rejecting Jesus. For choosing your sin over what’s good? The choice is yours !

here is more I put together. Evidence for Book of Mormon in ancient America- none Evidence showing Book of Mormon is a 19th century religious fiction: No wheat, no barley, no goats, no steel found in the Americas, no metal smelting furnaces, no metal armor, no temples, no steel swords, no skeletons of these warriors, no graves, no cities (it would be impossible for a city the size of Zarahemla to leave no trace), no cattle, no chariot parts, no Nephite coins (listed in book of Alma as being used for a thousand years), no Jewish relics from supposed jews, no metal plates like Nephites supposedly had, no artifacts whatsoever, no Nephite "reformed Egyptian" writings; and no evidence the book of Mormon "prophets" ever existed. There is zero archaeological, anthropological, topological, linguistic, or DNA evidence to support the Book of Mormon. It would be impossible for highly advanced civilizations (Jaredites, Nephites) with millions of people to have vanished off the face of the earth The whole face of the land had become covered with buildings” (Mormon 1:7) “Two million Jaredites slain” (Ether 15:2) 38 cities are catalogued in the Book of Mormon, along with iron, steel, brass, metal swords, breast-plates, shields, armor, or chariots. Yet, not one item mentioned in the Book of Mormon has ever been discovered in America. The Book of Mormon speaks of sheep, swine, goats, wheat, barley, silk, and elephants-even though they weren’t brought to America until centuries later by Europeans in post-Columbian times. Again we see that Joseph Smith was thinking about things in his current day as he was fabricating the Book of Mormon. CAN WE TRUST OUR HEARTS as to book of Mormon since there is no evidence? Maroni chapter 10:4 says: "he will manifest the truth of it unto you" But: THE BIBLE WARNS YOU about trusting your own heart. Jeremiah 17:9 "the heart is deceitful above all things". Proverbs 28:26 "He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool." Please don't be a fool. The entire belief system and premise of Mormonism is based on a false claim the Bible was corrupted and "plain and precious parts" were removed by early Christian translators sometime after the apostles had all died. This is a very dangerous claim to make against the word of God, especially since God promised us his word would never pass away and would be with us forever (Isaiah 40:8; Psalms 100:5; Matthew 16:18, 24:35; 1 Peter 1:23-25). An Objective Test of the Bible and Book of Mormon The Claim: In the Book of Mormon, the prophet Nephi has a vision the Bible was corrupted after the 12 apostles preached it and after the formation of the “great and abominable church” (1 Nephi 13:26-29). Most Mormons believe this to be the Catholic Church which was formed early in the 4th century. Nephi claims this church was founded by the Devil to lead souls to hell (1 Nephi 14:3). So let’s objectively examine both the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be fair and test if any have errors. Bible: The earliest Dead Sea Scrolls have been historically dated by three different dating techniques to as early as 350 BC. Included in this discovery was the Great Isaiah Scroll, which is the oldest known complete copy of the Book of Isaiah and is dated to approximately 200 BC. Study the dead sea scrolls which are over 2,000 years old and see if they have Joseph Smith's uncorrupted version. They should if Joseph Smith was correct and the bible had been corrupted over time but, no they do not. They are the same today as they were over 2,100 years ago with only minor spelling or punctuation differences. Joseph Smith was wrong. The bible had not been corrupted. The new testament has not been corrupted either. Take for example John 1:1 a very important verse than Smith changed to make Jesus a created being. A papyri known as the Bodmer Papyri which is almost 1900 years old. (note that this was written not long after the apostle John would have died and it shows joseph smith changed the book of John, not that it got corrupted later as he alleged) John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. ΕΝ ΑΡΧΗ ΗΝ Ο ΛΟΓΟΣ ΚΑΙ Ο ΛΟΓΟΣ ΗΝ ΠΡΟΣ ΤΟΝ ΘΕΟΝ ΚΑΙ ΘΕΟΣ ΗΝ Ο ΛΟΓΟΣ I post this in love. The manuscript and archeological evidence for the bible is the greatest of anything in antiquity. I am in the process of leaving the LDS church. I have come to realize the Christian Gospel and LDS are not the same. LDS believe they need to do good deeds here on earth to get to the celestial heaven. Christians believe they are saved by repentance and that Jesus’s blood shed on the cross, He died for us. His atonement alone allows us to get to heaven by believing in Jesus.

I find it interesting that right when she is asked “when are you going to repent and trust in Jesus” she says “right now” then an alarm goes off in the background (14:39). Then when she is asked if she will read the book of John, she says “yes” another alarm went off in the background (15:35). Here is my response: (1) There is only one Church, made up of the body of believers who have been saved by grace through faith alone - not of their works so no man may boast; (2) Once I was saved and actually began to study the Bible and fellowship with different Christians, I was able to learn the difference between traditions, teachings, customs, preferences, and practices as opposed to doctrine of the Christian faih.

My name is Timothy Thompson, and I am a believer in Jesus Christ and he and his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and if it wasn't for this church there is a lot of prophecy I would not understand. There will be many who deny the church and are deceived. And I'm sure I'm not really welcome here but I do wish the best for everyone, and my love goes out to the people who are seeking the truth and who are humble. I know some things that are getting ready to happen in this world and it's because of the church and because of my sincere prayer that my prayer has been answered. In order to prove that the church is true there is a lot of research that must be done, but that research needs to be done through prayer not taking people's opinion and their lack of ambition to follow through with keeping the commandments and the laws of God. There are certain things that you must look for in order to know if the church is true, first Jesus Christ set up his church 2000 years ago and he set it up with apostles and prophets and deacons and profits, elders and guess what that is exactly what the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints has today the same as it was 2000 years ago. I am not being boastful when I say this I'm not being proud I am humbled and I'm grateful to be a member of the church. Another thing that you can read about in the Bible is the fact that it says that the Book of Mormon would come about in the last days that there would be two books that would come about, we call the stick of Joseph and the Bible is to come forward and to stick of Joseph is the Book of Mormon. Another thing that testifies that the church is true is the fact that Joseph Smith taught in the Book of Revelation that the six seals represent 1000 year period of time and outside the church there teaching as if each seal is some plaques that are poured out and that doesn't even make any sense when you look at it and you study it and you have knowledge of exactly what each seal means. It is because of this knowledge I understand exactly what's going to happen before it happens and I will prove it to you and when you read about this in the future assuming they haven't deleted it and of course that would be a real shame delete the truth the actual truth that comes from my heart and my knowledge that has taken me a great deal of my life to learn and gain knowledge of prophecy. So what is about to happen. Iran war for over 10 years I've known about the prophecy of Daniel and Daniel talks about Iran push into the north-south and West. This is about to take place in just a few months and when this takes place at first the United states is unable or unwilling to go against Iran, i believe that president trump it looks like that in the bible and the scriptures once he becomes president I believe that we will go to war with Iran the United states would go to war with Iran and the United states will kill the leader of Iran and the leader of Turkey for they're the ones that will start the war and go to the north-south and West. When i say Iran in the bible it says Persia. Another thing that will happen according to the scriptures and I know because I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints, Jesus Christ church on the earth is that The United states will be divided into four countries, yes the united states will be divided up into four nation's most likely at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025 and timing is always a difficult thing so don't go by the exact timing, but go by events.

And when the US is not divided and your other prophecies fail to happen, it will be time to realize that you have been deceived. When the Bible says the church body is built on the foundation of the prophets and apostles it means that we follow the teachings of the prophets of the old testament and the teachings of the apostles of the new testament. As the apostles were martyred the other apostles did not replace them. They were taught by Jesus and understood that apostles were established to be founders of the kingdom of God on Earth, not permanent fixtures that had to be replaced every time one died. They fulfilled their mission and we continue to build on their foundation. Read through the Book of Acts and you will find that the new testament prophets were very different than in the old testament. First, prophecies were gifts given to Christians and anybody could aspire to prophesy. Paul told us to earnestly desire the gift of prophesy. Also, you will find that in the new testament there were many prophets even women who were prophetesses. The LDS church does not follow either of these apostolic teachings regarding prophesy, so it has rejected the foundation of the apostles. The prophets in the old testament, especially Issaiah (see chapters 43 and 45) tell us that there is no other god beside our God. They tell us there was no god formed before him and that there will be none after him (in other words, for eternity). Psalm 90 states that God exists from everlasting to everlasting, meaning he has always existed and always will exist. The LDS church rejects the foundation of the prophets by teaching that God had a biginning, that there other gods besides our God and that new gods will be formed as men are exalted to godhood. There are many other examples of how the LDS have rejected the foundational truths expressed by the OT prophets and the NT apostles, but these should suffice to demonstrate the LDS have rejected the foundation. I truly hope your eyes will be opened and that you will put your hope and faith in the one and only God and his son Jesus. Best to you.

The most encouraging advice I can give you is to continue in prayer for boldness to share the gospel in fullness and truth. When I first learned The Way of the Master I sat and binge watched pretty much every video of Ray sharing the Gospel to train myself on how to have a biblical response to the questions that people have after sharing. One thing to keep in mind is, it's not you they will be contentious with it is the Gospel, because it is offensive when preached in fullness and truth. We all are naturally inclined to be loved and accepted by others, what we must always remember is the world hated our Savior and if we come in His name we will be hated as well. Remember the enemy is the one who want's to keep you silent and fearful. When you are empowered by the Holy Spirit (I believe you will be) when you speak do so with sincerity, this will show people that you love and care for them and they respect that. I can't put into words how it felt the first time I overcame my fears and preached the Gospel to a stranger after you do it the first time it gets easier and easier no matter how many times you are met with rejection. Remember sister, it's not you they are rejecting it's our Master Jesus. I will be praying for you and am grateful to be given this opportunity to encourage you. May our Lord and Savior Jesus richly bless you sister, your brother in Christ Tommy. 🥰

@@surferdave7743 Here is the answer. It's a very long one. I've observed some patterns in the culture of atheism. Atheists look in the wrong direction as to whether the Biblical God exists or not. They look towards historical or scientific facts, but since they look for physical proof, they're never going to find proof that God exists because He is spiritual. By focusing on physical things and physical thoughts, of course you're an unbeliever. You haven't even searched for the spiritual stuff. There is no way you searched and you found nothing because all this time you've searched in the wrong directions. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, then disregard everything else I'm about to say because it will be nonsense to you. If you disregard it I won't be mad at you or offended, I'll just know that maybe you didn't really understand the point I'm trying to make and I'll leave it for another time. If you're truly open-minded, consider this. If God created everything with righteousness and perfection, that means God loves everything He's created. Isn't that right? If we are able to love, that means we have this thing similar to God, that we are able to love. (No other being on earth is able to truly love other than us, by love I mean care about something or someone to be perfect and complete) This means God created us to have some things similar to Him. Other than love, we are also able to create things and have a rich imagination, which is another thing similar to God. We are working to have a just society, we prefer rights over wrongs which is actually what God's character is like too. In order for Him to have perfect creations, there needs to be perfect order and fairness, and obviousness (truth). All this means that we are made in the image of God. With the previous text into consideration, we can safely say that if truly God exists, that means we are made in His image. And this also means we need Him as an example to grow and learn so we are complete. If we need to depend on God to grow and God loves us and wants us to be perfect and complete, that means He would have created some kind of means of communication between us and Himself so we learn from Him. If God loves us all and we are all unique, that also means God would create that means of communication to be between Him and us as individuals. He would speak to us individually because that is the reasonable thing to do between a creator and a student. On a modern viewpoint, that means of communication could be prayer, which also means that the only way for you to reach God and try to find out if He exists or not is if you prayed to Him. How would you know how a food tastes before you even tried it out? There should be many kinds of forms of us communicating with God though and not just prayer. But we all know that this doesn't happen, we barely see God's presence. Atheists see no God at all so if God exists, why is currently no consistent communication between God and man but prayer only? That means something must have happened for us not to be in direct communication with God so we learn and are complete. That is not very good for us because without God's guidance, if according to your belief He exists and because of context we are made in His image, we can't grow. We are stuck like lost sheep trying to find a way to happiness. We need a teacher and a guidance counselor for our lives and our sakes all the time and since God would clearly provide it for us if He loves us so much, why isn't there no such thing but prayer only? The answer is this essay: All human beings are the same at core (genetically), we may be unique in character but our core characteristics are all the same (e.g. we all throw tantrums as toddlers which is a result of egoism and this has to do with genetics). That means we are all genetically linked to each other, and because only family trees are linked genetically, this means we are all derived from the same people in the beginning when God created humanity in a huge family tree. (I hope by far everything makes sense to you because things will start to get a bit complicated) This means that not to you and I maybe but something must have happened to our older people that we derive from which must have disrupted the easy communication between man and God. Obviously it isn't God's will but it must be somebody else's will who is against God's will, since God loves His creation and wants us to be complete based on previous context. God loves all of His creations because God is a God of order and righteousness, and so God had granted all His creations free will. That means an outside source by their own will and not God's will caused something to happen to our old people and we are all genetically almost unable to be in communication with God except prayer. Hope by far everything makes sense to you. Because we are unable to grow spiritually without God, we are suffering spiritual death. And that may be why we don't have almost any communication with God but prayer. Because God must have created genetics, this "disease" is spreading genetically to the rest of humanity. Spiritual death. Because again, if there really is God and through reason and logic all this happened and God loves us, He must have provided some kind of cure for us so we can finally have communication with Him and feel alive, that's what a loving God does. Because God is fair, He would reverse what happened to us with genetics by sending a spiritually alive person instead who isn't derived from our old men to reverse spiritual death into spiritual life so we have easy communication with Him and receive guidance and be holy like God, complete as a creation and happy by being satisfied emotionally and mentally but this time it will last. According to the Bible, all these events took place and the spiritual man that God sent that isn't derived from the first men who fell, is Jesus Christ. That's what Christianity is. The Bible states that these men really did exist and the one was named Adam and the other was a woman named Eve. These two obeyed this other outside source instead of God and they fell, resulting in them being unable to communicate with God as easily and see God anymore. Through genetics, it got spread to the rest of humanity as well. So God sent Jesus Christ on Earth through a virgin and took upon Himself the consequences (the wrath of God as the Bible calls it, which is its true meaning) so all humankind can be spiritually alive again and have a spiritual communication with God. Of course a fair God wouldn't leave His son to death after everything He's done for what God loves, after He even sacrificed Himself for all humanity to be saved, so because this spiritual man has been obedient until death, God raised Him from the dead. God is against sin so much in the Bible because sin perverses what's good. It is a "wolf in sheep's clothing" to humans and because humans are no longer spiritual because of what Adam did, we can't see the consequences of sinning even though it is so tempting and seems good but God does and Jesus see otherwise. So the logical and rational thing to do would be to trust in our creator more than we trust ourselves in order to be happy. That's called humility. If there is God, this all actually makes sense. But the real question is, "is there really God who can save me since I'm truthfully not feeling whole and happy all the time?". You can find out by praying since prayer is and could be the only means of communication between you and God and you won't find out by anything else that is physical. Pray this if you will and if it is true: "This emptiness inside of me is rising every day, and there is no way I have found to stop it, even though sometimes I don't admit it, I am desperate to be loved, peaceful and complete and I don't know how to do it in such a way that it lasts. Nothing I do ever grants me happiness that lasts. If you really do exist, God, at least I admit it to you because you know everything. If Christianity is all about receiving joy and feeling whole after accepting God's gift and learn His ways to be happy, I am willing to accept it. If there really is a Biblical, righteous, loving, keeper of promises, miracle worker God above who loves me, I repent from sinning against my creator with all truth, humility and honesty, and if really Jesus exists and really died for my sins and rose from the dead the third day so I can be saved, if He really is the only way to Heaven and permanent joy, I'll accept Him into my heart and be saved. If you exist God and your will is better than mine, if that really is Your will God and if you truly are my God, I will be saved for your sake because you are the only one who loves me best. If God really exists, I will be renewed and IF that happens, I will thank Him forever with my life. Because I have a life through what Jesus has done for me and I'll thank Him for what He's done. If Jesus really does exist, I pray that He teaches me His ways to feel complete and joy." God truly never fails to answer to a humble person who has even the slightest bit of curiosity as to whether He exists or not. That is called faith, even if it is that small.

If that was her experience, then that's too bad. As a Latter-day Saint. I cherish the Bible and read from it often. The rotation for actual Sunday School scripture study at church and home study is 1 full year in the Old Testament, 1 full year in the New Testament, 1 full year in the Book of Mormon, and 1 full year from the Doctrine & Covenants, then that repeats every 4 years. This year, 2023, we are collectively studying the New Testament together as a world-wide church. In between all the verses from these various books of scripture are fully cross-referenced with each other, so in the years when we study from our other scriptures, verses from the Bible are continually referenced. The Bible is very often quoted in our church meetings and in our General Conference every 6 months. We believe the Bible to be the Word of God and it is sacred and holy writ.

The Mormon church is quickly turning postmodernist. In the last decade they scrubbed the deep doctrines from the church manuals and now the younger generation knows only a shallow version of Mormonism. They're backing away from "truth" claims. For example, instead of bearing testimony that the Book of Mormon is "true" they're changing the language of their testimonies to say simply that it inspires and draws people close to God. If you try to get them to actually address truth claims, they get very uncomfortable and withdraw from conversation. Also, they've completely bought into the silliness that disagreement equals an attack on their identity. It's pretty sad. When I served my mission back in 2003-2005, we were well versed in the doctrine, ready to defend polygamy, and even willing to talk about the Bible--to some extent.

When I was young I went to a Mormon church for years. I never heard about sin, repentance or salvation. The only time Jesus was mentioned was when they closed in prayer. They never pulled out a Bible. They used the Book of Mormon, The Pearl of Great Price & The Doctrine and Covenants. I remember them also saying back then during their “missionary lessons” that black people were black because they were cursed. They have since opted to take that out, but they said that during the 1980’s.

I used to go with a friend of mine in those years. I am grateful I never got into it on my own. I will continue to pray for those I remember from my youth, including my friend that is still in it. They believe they are the only “true” church. I remember my friend’s parents sharing a couple of things from their patriarchal blessing from the temple in Salt Lake City. One of the “revelations” being that all 4 of their sons would go on a mission. That did not happen. One died young. He was killed by a drunk driver. One just died in February at age 40 of a stroke. It was very unexpected. The parents died pretty young some years ago. There are 3 left. My friend and 2 of her brothers. It took many years for me to be saved and wake up. The Lord had to open my eyes. I was way too blind to see. Do some more research and pray to Jesus Christ specifically. The Mormons do not believe Jesus was the son of God and died for our sins. The thing about cults is nobody ever thinks they’re in one. I think people expect people to look like Charles Manson and act crazy in a cult, but many cults have normal people and even some very smart highly functioning people. Satan is sneaky. ✝️🙏

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches about Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we love Jesus Christ. We are currently studying the Old Testament this year and the New Testament next year. We talk about repentance and Jesus every Sunday. I have been a member all of my life and while some people may have taught hurtful things many years ago, and honestly sadly may still today that does not mean it was ever church doctrine.
