Thanks to Quinn Dymalski for uploading this as I absolutely adore the piece. And my next comment could be viewed as nitpicking or as a cool bit of trivia, but a few years before this tune became known as The People's Court Theme, it was scored for a drive-in b-movie called "Malibu High". The movie is super cheesy, but pretty fun if you're a fan of the genre. The super familiar melody does not take place until the last ten minutes of the film, during the climatic chase. And it's a hoot! The movie was @ 1978, so somebody observed the quirky musical potential and ran with it. But this song is a total stitch!

my Father wrote this in 1973 for a British tv series..The Hanged Man. I has been used world wide ie Family Guy, Spongebob and loads more. In 1982 it was chosen as the theme for Peoples Court. Jay Z and Nelly have sampled it. My father died in 1997.

Love this, but one thing (and it will sound a bit nitpicky). People's Court is a civil court, not criminal; the plaintiff would either be awarded damages or not (no guilt/innocence). Second, in a criminal court, the defendant would plead "not guilty," not "I'm innocent." But this is a cool cover of The Big One. 👍
