This isn't possible, it's a hoax. Pearls aren't shiny and do NOT come in quantity or as spherical. The bright gold is clearly a crafting bead, I'd guess 10mm or greater. Ask yourself this: how can she ALWAYS find just the right mollusc seemingly right underfoot and so quickly. Rainbow pearls like these simply don't exist in the wild and this particular species produces only four colours: pink, white, grey and purple. None of the coloured pearls are pastel, not saturated with a mirror finish. They grow out of the shell and most of them are baroque. It's rare to find a spherical pearl and almost impossible to find the sizes she is pulling out of these clams.
