What sucks is I had a similar issue just today while I was playing. For a little story of what happened, there was a bunch, and I mean a bunch of teamers in the server I was in; but one team specifically was playing Gojo and the other hakari, and I'm fairly sure you can tell where this is going. both of them farming for ult especially the hakari spamming his domain every two seconds. What made it worse is that any time they weren't in ult or together they would run or reset. What made me really sick was that they were pretty much the highest ranking people in the server and I had a suspicion that's probably why.

The mechanic itself is useless. It doesn't help escaping a team combo, and it was already inconsistent. This buff is useless, cuz the teamers can just run away from you. Besides, you're STILL getting infinite stun by their combos, for the duration you get the buff anyways. This buff accomplished NOTHING. The Burst mechanic is the worst anti-teaming in any BG games. They've should've just did like Heroes Battleground, and give you Hypetarmor if you getting attacked by multiple people - maybe a dmg boost alongside it too.
