This is the most probable of all the "scenes in chronological order" I've ever watched. Very expertly explained and supported. Absolutely stellar job! I had one question about the scene where Zelda falls and Link grabs her hand: It always seemed to me that LInk extends his hand to her and Zelda REACHES UP to grab his. I'd have to watch it again but that's what I always remember thinking when I first saw this trailer a million times last year. That implies that she did fall but maybe was able to catch herself on a lower ledge or jump to one and stand on it before falling in to the crevasse, giving Link the time to bend down and lower his hand to her. It didn't seem to me that he reached down in time to catch her as she fell. Thoughts?

I mean, chances are, that the malice becomes more "tentacle-y", or powerful, or whatever that represents the closer it was to spawning from Ganondorfs corpse. Direct spawns such as the parts seen in the trailer were spawned directly from it, while Calamity Ganon and the blights were likely spawned from malice similar to the ones in the trailer, and the random eyeball goo and blotches around hyrule likely came from the Calamity or blights.

14:20 - If you go frame by frame on that part, you'll notice that the falling floor suddenly stops falling in the last few frames. It's clear that it fell in increments, giving Link time to reach for her. I combed over this trailer a hundred times frame by frame when it came out, and you nailed the order of events as far as I saw (except the one swirly thing that... doesn't really matter). Though I do think that Link gaining the power happens after the castle takes off. Not that it gives us much more to go off of, but it's nice that someone edited it together finally.

Could it not also be possible that Ganondorf could use his Malice to "drain" the life out of other living beings so as to "hydrate" himself back into a young Gerudo form? 💀🧟‍♂️👴🧑😱 Given that he's basically a weakened mummified zombie at the start of the game it's likely that he'll do something that will make hin regain his youth and strenght so as to be phisically prepared to fight the fully powered Link and Zelda. Couple of things I think are helpful: 1: there’s a theory that Link’s flurry rush type/slowing time trick is actually his Champion ability. Other characters (either Zelda or Mipha too, can’t remember) actually talk about how time seems to slow down when he fights; how he is able to best swordsman twice his age when he’s only 7-8 years old, etc. So maybe that’s how he was able to save Zelda so quickly from falling, but then the ground started to cave underneath him as well, so the hand had to grab him. 2: This was incredible. Your work deserves SO MUCH MORE recognition! Your theories are very well grounded and used an Occam’s Razor-like approach, the idea that the simplest/most logical answer is usually the correct one, and I love that. Oftentimes theories can get far too speculative with little to no logic backing it up, and this video felt completely logical and reasonable. All of it. Even the slightly speculative parts. 3. I started jamming out when you rick rolled us, hahaha

At 5:25 We actually see they have Four torches, only 3 in the frame though, we can still see the embers from the other side of the animal. So it looks like the next frame has Link and Zelda losing two torches. Just noticed this while watching the video. Love the editing, piecing together and overall storytelling. Keep it up!

Great video again! One note about the torches though. I don’t think it effects your analysis, but the first shot is four torches, not three. The fourth is obscured behind the animal but you can see its embers rising. The animal appears to always have two mounted.

I just rewatched the video and I think you are totally right. In a way that solidifies it even more that this shot is probably the first one. So we go from 4 torches, to 2 (they probably put both of their torches out while they took a drinking break), and then we go to three torches at the bridge. Zelda has lit her torch back on, and Link is not using his, because he needs both hands to push the animal. Im still wondering why they go from 3 torches to only one later on. Maybe something happens inbetween that causes them to lose one. I get that they don't bring the other 2. Since they don't need 2 torches each. SO they most likely left them with the animal. Thanks for the observation!

My two cents to improve this chronology theory: - The animation of shot 16 seems more cartoonish than the rest of trailer (look how the spiky rocks facing Ganondorf look different from other shots and the lack of 3D depth of the cave), so I believe this might be a reteling of Ganondorf's imprisonment, probably by the glowing hand after saving Link, putting it either before shot 27 (and merging with Link afterwards) or after shot 27; - Shot 12 has Ganondorf sitting upright in a kinda meditative state, whereas in all other shots subjugated by the glowing hand he's stretching backwards with the hand carved in his chest. Even though the lighting of the room matches with the glowing hand still there, and the malice around is the weakend state like you mention, I believe this might be Ganondorf resting inside the cave after getting rid of them and lifted Hyrule Castle and this cave bellow to the sky (putting it after shot 28) anyway, amazing analysis of the trailler!

To add on to this, I think shot 14 should go between 11 and 12 because I personally don't think the devs would have a reason to give 2 shots so similar back to back, especially when they both start at the same elevation and pan upwards. To me, it makes more sense to break the two up somehow by showing another short, descriptive scene, and then cutting back to it to make it flow more smoothly.

I don't know if this has been brought up yet, but when the green hand joins with Link's right hand, Link's sleeve is rolled up and his glove is off. Link probably did that of his own free will considering it would be kinda weird if the green hand did that for him. This seemingly implies that Link chose to take the green hand's power rather than the green hand merging with Link without his permission. Since it probably took a few seconds to roll up his sleeve and take off his glove, (seconds he wouldn't of had if Zelda was falling down and Ganondorf was reawakening) that probably also means that Ganondorf "got away" or was inaccessible to Link/Zelda after the hand reached out to grab Link. So there might have been a bit of time for a discussion with Zelda or the green hand before Link decided to take the power. Great work on the video btw

Well done! A bit of a detail but I think of something. Maybe the floor collapsing is the result of Hyrule Castle's elevation. When you think about it, Calamity Ganon rises directly above the castle, so it makes sense to think what we see in this trailer might be situated further down the excavation site under the castle that we see in-game.

Poor Hyrule. Every 10,000 years it gets attacked for no reason. Also, I have a theory. Hear me out: I support the theory that Gannondorf used the last bit of his strength to cause a small earthquake. Zelda falls off the bridge, Link grabs her. Here's my idea: In NintendoBlackCrisis's video about the music track for the trailer, he explains that he had heard the words "help us" when he reversed the lyrics. The reason the hand sealing Gannondorf's corpse was broken to save Link and Zelda was because the spirits were trapped inside of it, much like why Link was put into the shrine of resurrection in Breath of the Wild; they couldn't let him die, he had to save Hyrule someday. That's also why Link's hand gets possessed by the green particles. Obviously, Gannondorf was the Gerudo king, so the particles were forming Gerudo script. But they were green. Everyone knows Link wields the Triforce of Courage, AKA green, AKA Link. The hand/spirits had the particles possess Link so he could regain the courage he may have lost in order to free the spirits. Boom.

Hi! Very nice Video! It's well thought out, and I enjoyed watching it. That being said, something bothered Me a little: Just wanna point out that at 5:24, there aren't 3 torches as mentionned, but 4. The Animal has 2 torches attached, one on each side. Although You can't directly see the 4th torch, because it is hidden behind the animal's body, You can clearly see the Embers rising on the far side. The next shot at 5:33 shows 2 lit Torches (The ones on the Animal). You can see Link opening one of the bags held by the Animal. Perhaps He is putting away his torch, storing it for later. They didn't lose a torch. **EDIT: When You see Link opening the Bag, if You look up a little, at the back of the animal, on the same side as Link, You can see the tip of what looks like a Torch tucked inside a pouch. Houston, We have found the Torch!** Then, at 5:40 when Link and Zelda are trying to help the Animal cross that bridge, You can see 3 lit torches. 2 of those are the ones mounted on the Animal, which have always been there and have never been extinguished, and the 3rd one is being help by Zelda. (Link's torch is still tucked away). Next, at 6:08, is the Shot where You see that only Zelda has a torch. This is the same torch that she was already Holding, and the other 3 torches are still on the Animal. Link still hasn't lost his torch. This detail might not influence the sequence of the different shots in chronological order, but it did Bug Me, and I had to say something about it ;) At 7:51, another clue that might help in thinking this ''entrance'' is already underground, is the fact that You can see some ''orange-like'' lighting on the Paws of the structure and on the wall, suggesting the presence of Lit Torches. This means they would already be underground.

5:27 I think there are 4 torches there, you can see little ashes flying and a some light next to the wall and its not Zelda's torch since she's looking to the other side. The animal doesn't have a torch in the front but one on each side as we can see in the shot where the animal is drinking in the river. Not that it matters anyways but I wanted to point it out.
