Hi Adam, I think you know what I would do about the bunnies. Try growing your carrots in containers, it works a doddle for me. See you soon.

Hi adam good to see you I think you will find it will be slugs that has been at you're dahlias they love them devoured mine in raised bed

If it's slugs then that's a win because I can sort them quite easily , but if it's that pesky wabbit.... !

Your peony is planted too deep, this hinders flowering. Hope you have success with your kalettes, they are so delicious. Please grow more next year for me. Any spuds this year? Can you give me the low down on your Strimmer as I’m looking to buy one. The bit with the blackbird tickled me, who is that nutter in the cage clapping lol.
@AllotmentGrowHow4 ай бұрын
I bought it from a garden centre and planted it the same depth as it was in the pot. No spuds this year, just chewed lettuce and nibbled courgettes. It's a battery operated strimmer, roughly 30/40mins charge and does the job for me. Think it was £80

That's up to the rabbits 🙂

If that was rabbits eating in my garden I would see that as a blessing not a tragedy. Rabbit with onions in foil on the is kinda like planting two sisters crops lol. You benefit from both. Great video Adam. I have a huge section of my garden growing purple hull peas. Their doing great so far. Take care my friend.

Hey Larry, good to hear from you... yeah those bunnies do have another benefit 👍Glad to hear you've got your peas growing. the rabbit appreciated me growing them this year too 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Adam help from Northern Ireland have watched you for years, hubby thinks some of the damage is done by the small dear yous seem to have maybe not all rabbit damage, your plot is doing well considering the nibblers, thanks for saving the black bird. Its our weather here thats causing us major issues.

Hello lol maybe I was thinking help
@AllotmentGrowHow4 ай бұрын
Hi Michelle, tell hubby he could be onto something as I do think deer are sniffing around the plot as well as the rabbits. It'll be elephants soon knowing my luck
@michellelarkin31154 ай бұрын
We seem to have millions of slugs & snails, have beer slug traps which work, slug pellets don't, hubby went out after your video and covered our red cabbage and celery. Keep going your doing good, it's our worst year ever as weather truly crap.

With the peony you could try to dig away some of the soil around the stem. They don’t like to be buried to deep. So hopefully it will flower for you next year. I say dig the soil away because they don’t like to be moved apparently.
@AllotmentGrowHow4 ай бұрын
The peony is annoying really as it's loving life as a plant and is more than content to not push out a flower... not a single one. It'll get a stay of esecution for maybe another season but after that I may try something else. Thanks for the comments

Hi Adam, That blessed rabbit has certainly given you the run a round. It's a pity Tom Forest wasn't still about! Still, all that wire netting etc; should give the crops a chance to produce a good yield in the end. Broad beans are looking well and those mystery plants look like trailing marrows to me. No doubt I will be proved wrong!
@AllotmentGrowHow4 ай бұрын
Hi Robert, I'm sure Tom would have been able to sort that pesky rabbit for me. The broad beans were picked and tasted lovely, this time of the year is great out on the plot. All will be revealed when it comes to those mystery plants my friend.

Youre so sweet about the blackbird. Im still watching so not sure if it needed letting out yet 😅 Love your vids. What happened to those kiwi's you planted? You did it!!! Well done blackbird boy!
@AllotmentGrowHow3 ай бұрын
Blackbird boy takes a bow, receives the applause and then exits stage left. Bloody hell those kiwis are going back some... so being a very lazy gardener here's what happened. I only read up on how to look after them after I'd completed the videos. Which is arse about face really. Turns out you need a male and a female plant to get any fruit, and it takes about 4 years to figure out which type of plant you have. Then it takes another 3 years before you get any fruit. So a seven year wait. That wasn't happening, not on my watch, so I planted them in the local woods to give them a chance. They didn't make it. I think Monty Don's job is safe, don't you? Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting

Are the mystery plants... pumpkins?? 🎃🎃🎃 Rabbits are a problem for me here in the US too. I just am aggressive with the garlic powder and pepper flakes to try and keep them away. Issue is a hungry rabbit's gonna eat whatever, even if it's kind of stinky.
@AllotmentGrowHow4 ай бұрын
All will be revealed in a future video as to the mystery plants identity. I've considered garlic flakes and chilli pepper flakes before, just never actually tried them. I may have to next season. Thanks for commenting
