I think whoever said the thing about "stealing ideas" has lost sight of what a creative community is all about. It isn't about making money and being capitalists, we're not selling ideas, we're inspiring each other to make beautiful things and to be happier in our lives. Perhaps that person should go outside, touch grass and have a think about the "value" of their contributions!! (Sorry, but I had to pause the video and say that!)

@fairyspunfibers9098

You don need a curing machine at all! A low temp oven (~ 200-250° F). It's just a way to quickly dehydrate (and "set") the Resin Crete, so that it absorbs as much EO as possible.

Is there anything special you need in buying baby wipes for cleaning? I hesitate because I thought they had aloe or lotion etc? I've been looking for alcohol wipes that are just alcohol but haven't found any.
@ixykix
@ixykix 5 ай бұрын
Many medical wipes are alcohol (but check as some have chlorhexadine in too - ex medic here). Generally these are very small though. Like swab sized. I do use them though and they're really useful. I also spray isopropyl onto little swabs to use. Or dip cotton buds into isopropyl. I think Steve has mentioned some awesome big wipes he uses (from Amazon I think?)
@TheResinersPourHouse

@ixykix Thank you. All the youtubers say Baby Wipe but no one explains which one. I do have the Big Wipes that he recommends but they go dry on me quite quickly and leave a film I don't particularly like. So wanna try a baby wipe. I've looked at so many and a true baby wipe I'm not sure I'd use, at least in USA. So I'd like clarification if it matters what kind to use. Thanks for the response.

To be honest anybody who says on art videos you took somebody’s idea is an idiot for the simple fact is it all ideas for the most part have been done multiple times most people would never intend on stealing any ideas nor is anybody getting any real credit for it it’s a video and people need to start realizing thatit’s entertainment simple those people are just trying to start drama where there’s no drama because they have nothing better to do in their life than to create activity and others to satisfy their own need for validation

Hello Steve. I’m hoping you can help me out. I’ve been using ResinCrete for about 9 months and I love it, but recently there appears to be something off with the bags I’ve received. I mostly use the regular 8 minute work time/30 minute demold variety. I had two bags delivered last month that have a zero minute work time, the mixture gets super thick right away (as if I’ve added maybe 3/4 of the water needed). Even adding more water and stirring vigorously doesn’t make it liquid. I have to “pour” is so quickly I can do little with it. I contacted the company and they sent me two new bags that are exactly the same. Have you ever run into this problem?

Just stumbled across your videos - and this one is exactly what I just tried to do! This week I soaked some resincrete pendant pieces in fragrance oils (used in candle making). My thought is to make car air fresheners, but wasn’t sure if the scent would last or for how long. Thank you for having a video for this! Do you have any followup for tips or experience with how well (or not) this works?

I'm from Australia and here we have Ecrylimer (like resin crete) and they actually sell molds for air fresheners to do this :) They have instructions aswell on how, and you add 2% fragrance into your mix, and then pour. It doesnt effect the cure at all, and they smell amazing for a long time! I have the ones I made in my car :)

You need a warning to keep away from birds as well. Now i have to get some resincrete. I make soap... so i have fragrance oils a plenty. Every once in the while i order from a wholesale store online... so i can get legit essential and fragrance oils. You are right about fragrance oils damaging surfaces. I have premeasured fragrance and been meking a batch of soap.. had it eat right through the plastic cup. Messed up my table surface a bit as well.

I have to laugh (sadly at that), sorry. But sounds like one of the people that tried to start an creators war between content creators. I don't think they know a chunk of resin and paint pour creators, personality. Or how these kind of art forms are created. I'm not sure if I can explain coherently Resin art, similar like acrylic pours, soap making, there scrap booking, then the combination of materials to create what is a hod pog of techic's that look gorgeous, eraser carving, I could go on, its huge. But majority is not knowledge taught in schools, or something anyone can go to college and learn. These are new, most college art teachers that I'm Aware of would never give a class for, they focus on technics they hope will be archivable, or get the students a job corporation, like animation, video games, movies, advertisement, design. I could see maybe one or two schools helping people develop and learn to make comic books (maybe). Art for books. But the art offered in schools is limiting. So, content creators like yourself Steve McDonald, have helped to create and keep inspiring others to look beyond the limits of that small box. Instead of doing, they stole my idea's drum, most content creators like yours truly, help motivate each other, and us that get whats going on. try not to let those that just want to eat popcorn and watch drama unfold. They can go to the easily freaked out people, there is content creators that dedicate themselves to casing drama or trying to ruin other peoples day. there are 2 content creators that will post things just like what they said, and wait to see if they were able to get the drama reaction that is their content. then upload to get clicks. i hope i made sense, just ask yourself, where would those out of the box art forms be, if others couldn't learn and grow with each other? I personally love that you do more than just resin art. I to, always have art on the brain.

I never thought of oils in the resincrete! I've been seeing these ads on youtube where you take a block of wood that costs $30 and stick it in your car and you get 60 days of scent. But you could be fancy and buy the stone instead of the wood and it was like $50 I think? Here, you just made them for practically nothing (a whole bag of resincrete in my area is only $30) and once you make them, the only cost is reoiling them every few months. I think I am about to slowly drive my husband crazy, because I personally love patchouli and he thinks it stinks. But I'm going to hide these around the house

These things come round time and again, I've thought of various techniques over the years only to discover I wasn't the first. Equally I've seen rather direct copies of things I've made. I freely share tips and techniques and those I'm absolutely relaxed about these days. But I get you, it's a bit galling when you find you weren't the first to think of a really great idea. But that's often what makes it such a great concept when more than one creative comes to the same idea.
