Good vid. I chowder down at The Big Texan in May 18 on way to Memphis, driving a Penske truck moving my daughter. I didn't try the challenge, but I had a great Rib Eye, Grilled Tomato and other fixing. Drank my first Lone Star Beer. This is a must stop for anyone going through Amarillo...

The secret to the Big Texan Steak Challenge is to have a cup of black coffee with a shot of Tia Maria (Coffee liquor a shelf or 2 above Kahlua) mixed in. It takes all the "stuffiness" away.

Hahaha, well he tried anyway. My brother did it some 35 years ago, think he was about 15 at the time. I remember he ate almost the whole thing but had like two bites left on the plate and was almost in tears and said, I can't eat any more. My mother told him to put those late two bites in his mouth, or she was gonna whip his ass for being this close. He put them in his mouth, and the plate was cleaned. Promptly after he got the certificate he went in the bathroom and let it loose, lol. I've been in there a few times over the year and did you what you did, a nice 12 ouncer with a cold 12 ouncer, lol.

Jon Webb they have something like this in Kansas City MO, my 70 year old dad, he weighed about 125 lbs, skinny as a rail, did it no problem. We went for dessert after dinner
