I know everyone else has said it, but consistency is very important when comes to applying rules. These organizers are being very inconsistent for the fact they are allowing a glitched max score. All of the people who used that glitch should be required to do it legit or get disqualified and give the win to their opponent who did it legit. Allowing this perfect score to count completely destroys any legitimacy this tournament has. Now no one will take it seriously going forward after seeing a rule get applied so loosely and inconsistently. If I were apart of this tournament and this happened to me, I’d withdraw from the tournament and never take part in a tournament ran by these particular organizers ever again, infact I’d make sure to put them on blast for it. Seeing as they can’t be trusted.

I wish I could like this multiple times. I couldn't agree more. The tournament was *supposed* to be a test of skill, not testing whether people know one exact bug that's hardly even useful outside of the super-specific context of turning this interesting challenge into a boring least cash challenge. Going by the rules, it's a bug that trivializes the challenge and shouldn't be allowed. Only issue with that wording is that it's purely up to interpretation. Personally think that a bug that allows multiple people to hit a perfect score puts it into the "trivializes the challenge" designation. Best method would have been adding the total pops as part of the algorithm. It's harder to balance out more pops, so you should be rewarded a higher score.

The guy had to say ISAB was easy to beat. I doubt he would have done better without the bug. Would be interesting to see though.

That was completely unfair. I would be so mad if that happened to me, personally. That glitch just totally trivialized the entire challenge.

Yeah, I don't think that glitch should have been allowed for round 2, meant all of your work and ACTUAL SKILL was worthless.

So a glitch was used in order to get the maximum possible score in a challenge where it was literally impossible to get that score (or close to it) through other means. And this is not considered a "trivialization" by the tournament runners? I'm guessing they realized the sheer number of people who had submitted perfect scores and decided to shagrin on the violation of the rules in order to keep from posing a general risk to the whole tourney by way of disqualifying a large swath of participants. An understandable decision on it's face, but it really sucks for anyone and everyone who either did not know about or chose not to use this bug. IMO, declaring the method invalid and extending the round for an extra two days would have been a much more even-handed response. Seems they lacked either the time to take that option or the foresight needed to come up with it. This whole tourney is just such a cool concept and is otherwise being executed so well. Details and specifics aside it really just sucks that they've gone forward with a decision on only the 2nd round which will likely leave the majority of the community (if perhaps not the majority of participants) with a really bad taste in their mouth 😢

What's ironic is that the calculation code shown in the video would not result in a perfect score with all towers having 0 pops. It would return "NaN". They had to have changed it to allow a mean of 0. Someone else mentioned that the rules of the challenge didn't mention "end tower pops" and instead "all tower pops." On the top run, this would change the total towers used to 12 with a final score of 0 due to only 2 towers getting pops. Going by either tournament rules or challenge rules, you could argue the participants who got a "perfect score" cheated, and the organizers allowed it.

How does the transforming tonic bug making it so all towers ended with indentical pops not trvialize the challenge????

just a reminder: you can disagree with the mod team's decisions, just be respectful about it (no death threats) and listen to the creator's reasoning for justification (no death threats) (seriously, no death threats)

Oh wow, that glitch thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think they should allow glitches of this nature for this exact reason, when like 12 of your top placements win out through a glitch against people who actually tried to play the challenge... It just feels like the whole thing was a joke to even try. Anyway, I think you did really good with the second challenge. I feel like you woulda walked away with a win there if that glitch weren't allowed.

This is not a tournament of skills it looks more like a bunch of player play testing the game to it's limit to see bugs to be fixed

Challenge idea: Beat chimps on the new map, but you can only place towers on the closest ice sheet to the active bloon path. Also no placing towers on water.

So guess the rule of "cant use bugs that trivializes the challenge" is now null and void since you were kicked out specifically due to people using a bug to trivialize the challenge.
