The theory that Cell can move his core around his body, doesn't really work because his regeneration is based off of Piccolo's plus the Zenkai he gets from the Saiyans and the durability he gets from Freeza. There isn't anything in in his dna that would give him the ability to do that off another character. Its just a plothole. If Goku just blew off Cell's legs or body except the head, then the plothole wouldn't happen.

Scaling was better in z, so goku knew that a year even an extra year wouldnt have gotten him strong enough. He had faith in gohan for sure. But. Even seeing a bit of cells power he just felt like he'd try his best either he wins or cell wins. Gohan was definitely a hail mary. ​@@brianrosado2333

When I was a kid, I didn’t know the cell regeneration thing was just English dub. But I felt like it made sense, his name “cell” being that he just needed a single cell to survive. In the anime, it feels like it matches up, after the final kamehameha, they show the cells exploding and turning into little fragments of nothing. But I guess the idea of him needing just a single cell to regenerate would make Majin Buu seem like an overpowered cell rip off than he already was.

Hot take: Tienshinhan should have be the one ending the cell fight. He had personal beef with Cell in his imperfect form. When Gohan kicked the 18 out of Cell and Cell was about to blow up, everyone was trying to come up with something? Before Goku sacrificed himself(and Kai)? There. That was the perfect moment for a good old fashioned Mafuba. I don't think Cell could have reversed it (like Piccolo jr did on the tournament) as Cell was focusing all his ki into blowing up. I know you need time to prepare a Rice cooker or whatever but Tien had 7 days to prepare for the Cell tournament. Heck I'd argue he should prepare one for every battle, just in case.

I don't remember if I responded to the question about this, but it was probably something about Trunks and the timelines (but I think it might have been the same question, but for the android or Buu saga). My theory for the Cell saga is that he didn't really suppress anything significantly before he fought Goku - the way people think he did when he powered up during the Cell games. He got at least one big zenkai boost when Goku blew his head off, and he got a senzu bean afterwards (you can even see him pump up after he takes the bean). He held back some in the way Goku and Vegeta do, but not a major way beyond that in any of his fights.

I think cell got a zenkai boost. Mostly due to gaining power after near death. Goku was still sure gohan could defeat cell even in his weakened state. Yes vegeta took cells attention for a moment, but gohan overpowered cell in the end.

I have an interesting theory for the Buu Saga. The Spirit Bomb didn't kill Kid Buu. When Goku said "I hope you come back someday as a good person." King Yemma heard him and transferred his essence into Uub right when he was born/conceived. That's why didn't regenerate, not because he was dead but because he didn't exist anymore. Maybe not the most grounded theory but it seems plausible.

my head canon for the androids being less evil in the main timeline is that Gero rushed to turn them on because the z fighters were expecting them. Either that or when Goku fought Frieza in the future timeline Gero realized that 19 and himself wouldn't of won (goku would of let them power up and the fight would of went a lot longer) so he just used that 3 years to "perfect" 17 and 18

My theory of the Cell Saga is that Piccolo KNEW Cell would show up if Piccolo was in a fight with someone that had no ki to sense, and that Piccolo COULD'VE killed 17 on his own. The reason Piccolo didn't is because he felt his best shot at luring in Cell was the androids, and the androids would be his best shot at defeating Cell, Piccolo just couldn't account for how strong Cell could grow in a short ammount of time.

Cell's core cell surviving his Gero designed explosion will surely survive Goku's blast. My theory is that because he is an android and made also of King Cold and Frieza's cells, allows him to return from a blast like Goku's as these cells allow any cell remaining to take on the full DNA and unique genetic code as the original Super prime gene. That is a theory that could be the cause.

Main timeline (1) Future Trunks time (2) Cell's timeline (3) Timeline that Cell's Trunks had travelled back to (4) Cell's Future Trunks timeline (5) (5 is the least universally recognised, but Cell implies that a Future Trunks killed his timeline's Frieza and King Cold, rather than Goku). Super then adds: Goku Black timeline (6) Double Future Trunks timeline (7) 6 splits from 1 when Beerus hakais Zamasu and then 7 is where Future Trunks (2) and Mai (2) go to live after Zeno erases timeline 2. So technically there is only 5 again as 2 of the timelines were destroyed, leaving timelines 1, 3, 4, 5, and 7

Trunks changed the timeline, because in the original timeline Frieza's and his soldiers caused damaged across the earth, including destroying Gero's Lab, destroying android 16 and much if Gero's equipment. This set Gero back, and he never had the opportunity to add in the additional emotional controls on them. In our timeline, Gero had so much extra time on his hands he not only made the androids less psychopathic, but did 19 and his body. Additionally, goku fighting Mecha Frieza, possible that he went super saiyan which accelerated his Heart Virus he already had. This meant he died earlier. Also possible Goku's death was noted by Gero, and this caused Gero to not deem it necessary to keep working on making more androids, to let 17 and 18 be weaker and perhaps these ones were the result of further behaviour modifiers - still disobedient but less human emotions.

I think he's alot like deadpool and his body can regenerate from any normal attacks that leave any part of him alive. I think the core is contingency plan, and it shields itself in the event of a self-destruct.

So I have a pretty cool story for the unseen timeline. We know in the unseen timeline Bulma made the remote to deactivate the androids and Trunks succeeded in that and then destroyed them. Then he was going to head back to our timeline when Cell killed and absorbed him, then took the time machine of that universe and left. So now the only one left is Bulma and she has no time machine to warn us and has no warriors to protect the earth. Now it begins and there's no more androids or cell, the earth begins to regrow and we know Bulma never showed back up in a time machine so instead of building another time machine she focuses on her earth and trying to build weapons to defend the Earth and trying to send out a ship for new Namek. Years later supreme Kai shows up and the events of Buu begin to transpire but there's no powerful warriors so Bulma ask for supreme Kai to take them to new namek. They travel there explain what's happening and the Nameks agreed to help gather the dragon balls. Eventually Beerus wakes up and asks about Frieza whis explains Goku beat Frieza and then died on Earth he'd pull up Earth and see Majin Buu wrecking havoc. He'd then mention the super Saiyan god and ask Whis if there's any living Saiyan's he'd look through the whole cosmos and find the only living Saiyan's are Paragus and Broly. He'd travel there and they'd explain what happened and beg to go anywhere besides that planet. He fights Broly and has an epic battle before losing and Beerus allows him to follow them and train with Whis. After this chapter it could continue with Bulma wishes back everyone who died from the Androids or Goku and the timeline has so many possibilities.

If Cell targeted Trunks, it's likely because he probably thought Gohan would dodge it, and hitting Trunks would send Vegeta into a rage like he did, making Vegeta an easy solo target after. So it was two for the price of one. Just sound strategy since Trunks and Vegeta were the only ones who were strong enough to possibly help Gohan. Though, Cell may have believed himself to be so far beyond all of them that it didn't matter. He could have just picked Trunks out of petty vengeance because his Trunks killed 17 and 18 in his timeline.

In Kai, 16 says he is not half human like 17 and 18, 17 thinks it’s weird that gero needed to use humans as a base for 17 and 18 if he obviously mastered fully robotic androids…..is there any explanation anywhere? My first thought is 16 was TOO literal on his mission and his only mission was to kill Goku (even if it was by Suicide Bombing) but then I thought that’s not true….he fought back with Cell and even being on the same sideline as Goku he didn’t go through with his “programming”….but then half humans also have their cons….(17 making things a game knowing where they can find Goku and not completing their mission)…. So if there IS an explanation it has to be a really good one😂

Maybe we give Dr. GERO too much credit, maybe the Dr. Gero gives up and tells the AI to make a superbeing. Maybe Gero made the DNA bugs for a future android but after 17 and 18 betray him and he deactivates them, he goes back to mechanics ie himself 19 and 20. I think after that he let the AI make Cell on its own but use his voice.

I'm guessing he was a soldier when Goku destroyed the red ribbon army, sad he died but terms of the employment. Fair he wanted revenge.

I dont mind Cell Jr's not aging. I think that hammers that the Cell Jr thing was a King Piccolo trait, in that he could create beings and shape them for specific purposes. Eg one that could detect dragonballs. I think Cell wanted to anger Gohan in the most annoying way, and so deliberately created annoying Children copies of himself. I dont think any of them were ACTUAL children of himself. Them training with Android 17, well Cell made them so they would torture Gohan's friends. Perhaps beyond that they had no real purpose, and 17 might have been seen as a non hostile to them. They dont want to absorb him. So, not too crazy to imagine that he might be able to tame children, children created to obey a father figure. Them being alive again, well that is a bit of a head scratcher. I used to have the belief that what allowed them to be so strong was perhaps an inability to regenerate, so they are little Glass Canons. But meh. Also possible, they died because Cell kept pissing off Gohan. So Cell indirectly caused their death. Hey, its less disconnected that Grand Elder Guru coming back to life because Frieza killing his children made him sad.
