These creatures in the episode are base level 11+. Collossus of akros is 10 at base level without any effects which is too small. If he were looking for biggest I would then say primordial hydra (enters with x +1/+1 counters and doubles every turn and has trample so long as there at least 10 +1/+1 counters).

I have them both on the same deck and I use the card clock spinning to takeoff multiple counters at one time which makes them come out quicker. Creatures in Magic have definitely power crept pretty hard since the game first came out, but non-creatures seem to have gone the opposite direction. We're seeing the strongest creatures ever, but I don't think we'll ever see non-creature spells close to what was running around in the 90s and early 00s.

@@Acepilot12345 Lotta big creatures. I broke apart some decks and put in expensive stuff like Avacyn and Gisela, but you can go for cheap big guys too. Of course enchantments like rhythm of the wilds, a LOT of ramp (which you should be running in green stompys anyway), and some card draw like Garruk's uprsing. Really Mayael can be built any number of ways. Just turn big guys sideways and hit. She's tons of fun. :) Edit: another really fun thing I've read that tons of people do with her is they'll keep a pile of big monsters and shuffle a handful of them into the deck, so what cards are played is a surprise to everyone.

Hydras, kalonian and prime. Brood master also. In low power games, they can get big. I remember when I first started playing I made a Hydra deck, and got to around 28 counters before I swung and won. My friend who was also new was playing lifegain. It was fun.

Seeing as how Serra's avatar was brought up I might as well share my story when I was playing my ayli eternal pilgrim deck. I equipped a shadowspear to my avatar and attacked with that and my academy rector. In response to blocks I sacrificed rector to ayli and tutored soul link onto avatar. When combat was over I netted about 60 life gain in the swing that was doubled by rhox faithmender.... Serra avatar with double lifelink+, and trample was glorious.

I Love my Eldrazi Deck Been my dream deck for years, so as soon as I got the money, I had to buy most of the cards. (Especially both of those Emrakuls) Infinite Turn Combo I found by mistake while playing with the guys: Elrazi Temple: Search Eon's Thorn Cast Eon's Thorn (using the Urza's Lands or Omniscience to make it easier) Sacrifice Eon's Thorn via any means possible (I use Ashnod's Altar) With the right build-up; not hard to pull off. (except the Blue Mana aspect since I run 4 copies of each of the main 3 Urza Lands)

my personal theory for how power and toughness works flavor wise is that each value is twice as large as the one before it, so it scales geometrically (sorry if I got the terms wrong, I'm not great at math.) So a 2/2 is twice as strong as a 1/1 but a 3/3 is twice as strong as a 2/2. Its just abstracted into smaller numbers to keep the game from having really inflated values. which would make emrakul the aeons torn actually 16,384 times stronger than a 1/1 squirrel

as a kid i loved all the arabian nights djinns. so when mirage block came out i was super excited to see a bunch of new ones. one of my friends at the time had an older brother who was giving up magic, so she brought me some of his cards. turns out they were stupid and boring lands... dual lands i think they were called. that night i brought them to the high school/college kids i used to watch play to see if they wanted to trade. they were never so nice to me as they were on that night and i ended up trading a stack of dual lands for some sweet djinn music. the more notable among them were nettletooth djinn and fledgling djinn. they promptly went back to being assholes to me the next day. aaron, pedrum and dylan; i hope you fell into some quicksand.

Years ago there used to be an "Old Man of the Forest" with 1/* where * was the number of lands you controlled. Wasn't that brutal in attacks but he was HARD to kill - particularly if you were in that version of MTG that allowed the "regenerate" enchantment - pay 1G to prevent card (and the enchantment) from dying.

One thing I always liked about the OG Eldrazi titans was their graveyard shuffle trigger. Since they have to hit the graveyard for it to trigger instead of the standard replacement effect, you can react to it. Also works as a really huge dick move against mill in any deck.

Lord of Extinction. I know it's a star/star, but it's equal to the number of cards in ALL graveyards, and in a 4 player Commander game, in a self-mill deck that has the ability to mill opponents as well, I have had mine reach 65/65, and I had given it Indestructible with Fated Return.

Primordial Hydra should get an honorable mention. He is XGG, enters the battlefield with X +1/+1, doubles that amount each of your upkeeps, and gets trample as long as he's Power 10 or more.

Another technicality creature i just got was the planeswalker Mordenkainen, who for his -2 gives you a dog token whose power and toughness are equal to the number of cards in your hand and his -10 exchanges your hand and library and gives you an emblem that gives you no maximum hand size. If you run a Blue/White/Green deck, you can potentially have Mordenkainen, Broker's Ascendancy, and Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion out on the field in just a few turns and be able to summon Mordenkainen's faithful hound with a power and toughness of roughly 80-90 Thats not to mention a brutal combo i had played against me using a Hydra who doubles its power and toughness every time you paid its activated ability. The guy played it 10 times the first turn he summoned the hydra out

The largest creature i have seen so far on the battlefield was my "Okaun, Eye of Chaos" when i had him and his buddy "Zndrspt, Eye of Wisdom" out as well as a "Krark's Thumb". Technically, like Dark Depth's, Marit Lage can summoned with Marit Lage's Slumber. I also like the watch the look of my opponent when they do all the work to summon a giant creature, eldrazi included, only to have it land on my side of the board. Or that one game where three of the four players (myself included) had an It That Betrays on the field (not all of them cost 12 mana to cast). The amount of rules lawyer'ing to figure out which creature went where when it got sacrificed was hilarious.

Phyrexian Dreadnought has to be one of the best fatties even today. It sees play in Legacy and other eternal formats. Just stifle the ETB or cancel it out completely with torpor orb or Volrath's Shapeshifter. It's even tutorable with Trinket Mage.

Sadly, the largest it would ever be is a 8/9. It doesn't count creature types, just card types. Normally it is only going to be a 2/3 or 3/4, since it is fairly unlikely to get stuff like planeswalkers and tribal cards in your graveyard.
