One thing I like to do is fuze a Royal Guard Claymore with a strong monster part, use until it's about to break for maximum damage, and hold onto it for Lynel fights. If you wail on them while hitching a ride on their backs, the weapon won't break, but only while on their back.

someone has dealt 24k+ damage in one blow... here's how they did it: Evil Spirit set for bone prof., attack up 3 food down the hatch. Attack up + 10 pristine royal guard's claymore with a gibdo bone fused to it at one durability, throw a boomerang fused with some ice elemental item so it strikes your enemy. Sneak up behind the enemy and deal a sneakstrike, which will land just a few frames after the boomerang hits the target. That's about 24,288 damage, and please tell me if that's wrong.

You can’t get the claymore down to one hit because if you fuse something to a weapon, it makes the claymore not on one hit and even if you fuse gibdo bone to it, it will break when you hit anything so it’s wrong but smart thinking
