Flea market really isn't an accurate term for Ij-Hallen. Sure it's part flea market, but it's also parts thrift shop🛍, antique mall 🏺, arts festival 🎨, and street food 🍟event. It's just something that has to be experienced. Do you enjoy a good hunt for treasure? 🏆 Let us know!

Its 9 euro rather than 5 to get in early at 6 am . I think i will pay the extra on my up coming visit .I hope its a bit better than Waterloo Plein market .It certainly is far bigger .Another market i like in Amsterdam is the Albert Cuyp market which is on every day as far as i know .Its near the old Heineken brewery ,which is no longer a working brewery but they do tours .

It looks like early bird for ijHallen is currently 10 euros according the website. Albert Cuyp Market is open every day except for Sundays and it's more of a street market with a lot of food, grocery, and flower stalls with some other odds and ends sprinkled in. Our favorite spots there are the Twin Olives cart (amazing hummus) and DamBrownie. Enjoy your visit!

I can understand some of the criticisms, but I think it depends on how you approach it. It’s a large market and the vendors can and do change from event to event. Like any flea market there is a lot of junk, but if you have the time and patience you can often find cool stuff.
